Wow, we have a great Thanksgiving visitor. An adult Red-shouldered Hawk has been sitting in our oak tree for at least 15 minutes now at about our eye level and not that far away. I've taken photos through the windows that are pretty good for being through two panes of old, dirty glass. It is...
It is sure windy today! I'm glad we don't have much to do but will be shopping at Walgreens for on sale diet Coke and some other stuff. Glad you all are reminding me of holiday preparation as I have to get my annual family history newsletter for DH's family ready pretty soon. Just made a list of...
I have a routine dr. appt. soon, wishing it wouldn't be dark then. This afternoon we did our grocery shopping for the holiday. It's just us, but we're roasting a chicken. Not a lot happening just now, but one nice thing is that after visiting in May, DH's niece asked if I had a drawing that...
We never had a TV until married almost 30 years. Then bought one for FiL's room in nursing home and when he died we brought it home. We now have a really nice one, but only have the "free" channels with rabbit ears. So, none of this is anything I know about.
This is so gorgeous! What great tools you used to create the effects with a result that could serve as an invitation, a cover picture, or many other ideas. Well deserved standing O!
I loved the shriveled leaves and spiky seeds of this flowering plant in a neighbor's yard but the photo was overwhelmed with bright green of plants behind them, so this photo treatment is perfect.

Christmas Bird Counts have been a big part of our Decembers for so many years. Seems strange to quit but the old joints don't take well to it any more.

Yesterday we both attended an all-day seminar on German genealogy. It was good and DH enjoyed it partly from a lot of fascinating history in the talks. Then we were part of the group taking the speaker to dinner. And we followed the Ohio State game scores as they won again. Today is sunny and a...
Fall with its exciting possibilities, especially in November, for bird migration has long been my favorite season.

Birding along Lake Erie with NW winds on a chilly November 8th didn't show many birds but the low sun through the trees was a lovely end to the day.

The snow ended but it got really cold, probably setting a record for the date. I'm remembering Oct. 1 when the high of 90 set a record for the entire month. Wish we could even it out a little! Anyway, genealogy group at the senior center this afternoon and maybe this evening I'll get to go to...
Felis, you are doing so well with finishing these pages. And they are beautiful.
I've finally done last year's week 36. Now I've got to do three October weeks and then the end of the year from Dec. 9th. This one I did in the Anna Color challenge that seemed perfect for remembering the heat at...
Interesting remembering the heat last year at Labor Day weekend with the chill we have a year and two plus months later.

I'm still having trouble realizing it's November and not still October. We did have some snow on the ground on Nov. 1, but Thursday we got more and it was below freezing last night. Plants didn't like it at all. We did some lakefront birding yesterday as there were NW winds, but the birds forgot...
The changing of the poinsettia that my DH cares for is an annual bit of excitement.
