Good morning and weekend to everyone!

I am going to make this brief, I am off to keep on painting today but this should be my last full day of it. My dad and I finished the walls by 1 pm and then I worked on the trim until dinnertime. It looks sooooo good! I love the color. It seems to change in the light, going from almost white to a pale slate. Having the trim freshly painted white makes the room look clean and crisp. All I need to do in the LR is pull the tape from the ceiling and put the curtains back up. Today I am doing the top half of the DR walls. We have a chair rail and the bottom part of the walls are a sage green and that is staying as is (for the moment LOL) Trim around the DR window is also on tap for today too. Everything needs to be put back for tomorrow morning when my parents are coming up for my dad's birthday.
I am sorry for being a "bad" O-zie but this should be then end of my craziness.

Wishing everyone a fab day!

Felis-- thankfully, we did not end up with the dog. Gary was able to post the info on FB and was coordinating with several people who were interested in fostering. Some of them had other pets and/or kids and wanted to see how he was with them. We are hopeful that something will work out for him.
My initial reaction (right after oh, heck no!) was about Whisky, since she doesn't do well with lots of other dogs at the park, she gets intimidated and aggressive, I am sure that has to do with her being a street dog before she came to us and became a very spoiled baby. *winks* Your advice is spot on and thank you for it!

Trudy- Ack, bad news about the heat pump. (you are lucky you are not here- it was 19*F at 6 am). All of my fingers and toes are crossed for you that it is an easy and inexpensive fix!!
Congrats on another commission-- how many is this up to? You are going to be seeing turtles in your sleep if you aren't already :p

I'm still having trouble realizing it's November and not still October. We did have some snow on the ground on Nov. 1, but Thursday we got more and it was below freezing last night. Plants didn't like it at all. We did some lakefront birding yesterday as there were NW winds, but the birds forgot to show up except for one loon. This afternoon DH will be watching Ohio State football and I'm going down to the historical society.

Felis, hope you are feeling more the thing this weekend! And thanks for the incentive on the weekly pages. Your latest looks very good. I've started another thanks to you. Also for you is this one:

Chris, so glad things are working out for the dog and NOT with you. The newly painted areas of the house must be inspiring they look so good. Another way to help combat the seasonal problems. Have fun for Dad's birthday!

Trudy, how are you holding up with another turtle to paint? And I too hope the heat pump wasn't expensive (or time-consuming) to fix.

Kay and Nancy, hoping you're feeling good for the weekend.

Good morning ladies... off on another busy shopping and errand filled day today! Yesterday wasn't as bad as first anticipated thank goodness!! The heat pump will be an easy fix, it is just another small part that needs to be replaced, but the part will not be in until Tuesday and then they will install it on Wednesday. So for now we either have to have the fan continually running or go down to the garage and flip the breaker to shut it off. A bit of a PITA but not that big of a deal!! So another couple hundred dollars of repairs but it still beats putting out thousands for a new heat pump! Off to the In-Laws for supper tonight and I will bring you up to date with that story hopefully tomorrow when I have more time to do so. For now I better get a move on and get myself ready to go.

Chris - I hope you will post a photo of all of your hard work when you are done! Happy Birthday to your Dad! I hope he has a great day! Yes Chris I dream of turtles and other sea creatures that I want to paint LOL. I have been a bad O-zie too not here as much as I would like! :mmph: not enough hours in the day!

Jean - Ugh on the :smow: Sorry that the birding was not so great, guess they did not like the colder weather either? I will have to check out the pages that you and felis have worked on! Oh the other night I had a cool dream of an Octopus painting that I was working on the Octopus was peeking over a large stone on the bottom of the ocean and was looking right at me LOL . Funny that I dreamed that because I think they are kind of a creepy looking animal, but I think that I am meant to paint one! Thanks for the idea that you planted in my brain LOL.

Ok off I go :bolt: have a great weekend everyone!

Well today I got my hair cut and colored and I really am feeling much better. My son and DH both said they thought I was going bald where the roots were showing. LOL. My DH is awfully sweet to his son. My youngest is going to a game night party and he dad was nice enough to bake him banana bread. So coming home from the hair cut store the smell was amazing. Luckily we have some that is being left at home. My Devils have lost two in a row. Against the Flames they had two own goals and against the Oilers the first goal was disallowed for an early whistle and then Hall hit the post for instead of two goals no goals. On Sunday they play in Vancouver. Watching the two teams play in Sweden and I remember last year how much fun it was to be at these away games.

Chris I am so impressed at how well the painting is going. My sister is like you just a few changes that make a big difference. Love that the color changes with the lighting. Glad that the appointment for Cait went well. Have a great time with the parents.

Trudy you are always busy. Yes this area is getting its first blast of cold weather. I love my heated (electric) throw. I makes me warm and cozy. So glad that your heat is just a small part.

Kay you must be getting excited for the upcoming visit and holidays.

Jean sorry about the birding. But one of the young women at the hair cut store I showed her the birdID app which she said she used to tell a friend what bird he had seen. I love that she is using it. She said that others just knew the bird. I explained that some people just know birds.

Felis glad things are going well and yes those closest are often the most critical.

Have a great day all!

It is done!!! (almost) It looks amazing and I am so happy! DR top half and trim is all done, chair rail all freshened up. I just have to do the trim in the hallway (3 door frames) and I should be good to go for a while. And the columns on the side of the stairs, but then that means par of the stairs too. We'll see. Not doing any of that today.
I was going to paint the top of the DR the same color as before, a warm beige, but Cait talked me into doing it the same as the LR. She is smart, looks fab with the "new" grey table.

This morning, I need to make my dad is annual rice pudding birthday gift and get set up for his b-day breakfast. This afternoon, I really want to sit and scrap. Everything else that needs to get done can wait until tomorrow. (I say that now, any bets on what I actually end up doing?)

hugs!

Again, I apologize for the short personals... :sorry:
Jean- me too, and it isn't just the first day or so of Nov. We are in double digits and I am not liking how fast the time is going. Sounds like it was too cold for the birds to be out and about ;)
The hardest part of painting for me is knowing when to *stop.* The nice new paint makes the rest of the house look even worse! Hope you had a good time at the historical society.

Trudy- I am so relieved about the heat pump! We are having issues with our water and all I can say is thank all of the god/esses it isn't our well. *knocks wood*
Guess we can sit in the Bad O-zie Time Out Chair together hehe!

Nancy- yay for the cut/color/feeling better! Booooo-- get your act together, Devils!
I am one of the people who would been the birdID app- they all sort of look the same to me too.

and now I am off. love to all!

Morning everyone and Happy Sunday! Happy Birthday to Chris's Dad today too! Our dinner at the In-Law's was really good! The reason MIL decided to have a big turkey dinner was to get us all together for a visit with SIL Linda's oldest son. We have not seen nor heard from him in almost 10 years!! Even his Mother hasn't seen him in that long. He is in a very toxic relationship and the woman that he lives with does not allow him to have anything to do with us. Can you imagine??? SIL Linda and her first husband had him (Raymond) and his brother Mike and when the boys were still very young they went through a nasty divorce. Well to make a very long story short... The boys father is very ill and is on his deathbed. So Ray came home not only to see his father and his Mother, but to get away from this woman. I guess he finally got the courage to leave and get away from all the abuse! So we all had a good visit and hopefully Ray will not go back to that relationship and settle back down here on the Island. He is already looking for work and is caring for his father too, but he looks so very sad and I feel so badly for him! We all did our best to try to cheer him up and now all we can do is be there for him if he needs us! Not much happening today so I am actually going to scrap a page for a change. Oh I forgot to mention that my latest painting is on hold as I was not happy with the way the background turned out and had to redo it, so now I wait for it to dry and will have to really work hard to get the turtle done ASAP!

Chris - Hooray :high5: you must be so happy to have the painting job done and now you can admire all your hard work! That is funny that your Dad loves rice pudding, MIL always tells us the story of how her kids hated it and she would make them sit at the table for hours until they ate it. To this day my DH cringes every time rice pudding is mentioned LOL!

Nancy - When I got my hair cut and coloured the other day I was thinking that I bet it was time for your appt too! So nice to have it done! Hope that your Devils smarten up and play better for you soon!! So nice that your DH bakes for you and your son!! Glad he made enough so that you got keep some at home! I need to find out what the app is called and get it too, there are some birds around our area that I don't think I have seen before and I am curious as to what they are called! Sometimes I can hear them, but not see them, does the app work like Shazam and listen to the bird and tell what it is??

waving hi to everyone else this morning, I need to get into the shower and get some breakfast going for DH, he will soon be out the door to get his hair cut. Have a great Sunday everyone!

good late afternoon! Today is the Marine Corp's birthday. So sent my son a text letting him know I remember. Now just watching some hockey waiting for my team to play - read a really interesting book. I watch the Ellen show every day and she has this former football player turned magician on every once in a while. Well he was on after writing his life story. OMgosh what he has gone through and to come out with such positiveness. Anyway I read the book in a day and a half. It was a page turner for me. My son gave me a suggestion but it is so negative that I just put it down. I also started the book from Oprah's book club but found that I have to be a lot more awake to read it so it too is waiting to be finished. I need to get my calendar done for next year. But I am happy as I got bill paid.

Chris happy birthday to your Dad. So glad the painting went so well and that you love the color. Enjoy the day.

Trudy that is very sad about that young man. I am glad that he is trying for a new start. That can be so hard but it sounds like he has a great support system. Speaking from my life my MIL hated that I went back to work after having children and so she never saw her grandkids nor her son. She did not see her son until she was on her deathbed. I can see her being mad at me but not to see her grandkids sad. So I am proud that he has come back to help and start again. Sorry about the painting. The app does not only id by picture not by song. There may be an app out there that does songs I have not looked.

Jean we may be getting snow come Tuesday. Ahh. Hope you don't get too cold or too much snow.

Have a great day all!
