Ahhh! My brain got up and left my body for (more than) a second just now! I swore that today was the 27th. I *need* it to be the 27th. Not the 29th. I am slightly behind on my end of the month Cheery-O duties and I will not have a free second at all.
Yesterday I got home at 5 pm, took a shower and then didn't move from the couch until bedtime. And I will place any amount of money that I do the exact same today.
The field trip was awesome, even the one part that didn't work out as I had planned. I'm not crazy about the 12- 4pm slot. I feel like I've already put in a full day when the kids get dropped off. Meanwhile, the kids-- they are raring to go at noon way more than at the 10 am drop off. They loved the compost in a bag activity so much that I had to flip the 2nd activity to after lunch instead of before. The BioBlitz was the last thing we did and they were happier counting the number of spruce cones than finding different species. But they were having fun, learning how to use the binoculars and sketch a map. Allll good!
One of the smartest decisions I have made recently is to piggyback yesterday's curriculum for today's. I have my Spring HS afternoon group coming in. Three of the kids I had in the Fall and the three I had for the Winter session. I am doing two of the same activities and instead of the bioblitz we are going to make a worm jar.
That is my afternoon. First I have to get through the morning. Gary is supposed to be picking up my grocery order but he is really feeling awful, so I might need to do that if he can't leave the house. My parents, Scott, and Sam are coming here at 10 for bagels. Tom is off and Cait works remote today. It is one of the few times we can all get together. It's not ideal for me, but I'll make it work. I told my parents that I have to leave at 12 and really, as long as I leave by 12.20 at the latest, I should have plenty of time to get prepped before the kids come at 1.30.
I'd better post this and then start the busy day with all the energy I have.
xoxo
