Background info:
I am absolutely horrible with dates. In our house, it's the opposite of the norm and the wife (me) forgets anniversaries, birthdays, etc. and the hubby remembers them. I got real lucky that alyx was born on 2/2/2000. :)

The Story:
Yesterday was the anniversary of the OKC bombing (not the funny part of this story) and as I halfway listened to the tv coverage (while doing other random things), they mentioned the date of the bombing and then at some point, the year 2005.

I was thinking about what I was doing at the time of the bombing and then it popped in my head, "Oh, this would be a great way for me to figure out when Anthony and I first met!", since we met the year before the bombing at a Friday the 13th party. I googled 'Friday the 13th dates 2004' and saw that that date only happened twice that year - in Feb and Aug. I knew it wasn't February so I figured it was Aug.

I went to lunch with Anthony and was regaling him with my mad research skills and basking in my glory of figuring out when we first met. I mean, I was really laying it on thick - I was just that proud of myself for figuring it out!

So, finally, he says, "Um.... I hate to bring this up but.... did you say 2004?"

At which point, my brain started clicking and I realized what I had done (because, HELLO - our son was born in 2000 so he would have been 4 in 2004!). Of course, then I had to ask him what year it really was (which I just had to google again because i've already forgotten it - GAH) and he informed me the bombing happened in 1995 so we met in 1994.

He then spent an extra-ordinary amount of time bragging about his obvious manliness and even posted the following on facebook:

So, according to my wife's math/date skills, we were introduced to each other 4 years after she had our child. I guess I'm just that good.

I gotta admit, the whole time I was talking about 2004 it never even occurred to me to even once question that date. When it finally registered, I laughed so hard I literally couldn't breathe!

Oh, belly laughs are so good even when they are at your own expense!

Oh dear, I'm sorry to laugh, Vicki, but this story is just brilliant. Thank you for livening up my evening.

Now scrap it, girl!~!!

lol Selena - you were SUPPOSED to laugh! I thought it was just too funny not to share

And, Jan, you're so right!

Everyone else, yup, my hubby is so clever and witty (and good with numbers lol)

Dates = numbers. Numbers = math. Artists don't do numbers! Champagne for everyone! :)

I LOVE you for saying this!!!! I really do!!!
I have this "thing" with numbers, (kind of like Vicki LOL) as in they mean nothing to be. Like some people have depth perception issues, I have number-perception issues.
Now I know why!! ("cept I am not an artist, but maybe I can pretend for a while??)

:hurt:

LMAO here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yes, it's a fabulous thing you can laugh at yourself for this too!!!

OMG.....................THIS NEEDS TO BE SCRAPPED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is awesome. Vicki stories are the best. I still die laughing over the okra. This rates with that one.

I just read this to my DH and he was cracking up that you weren't even in the right millennia. I sooooo would have done something like this.
