I have to share this! Have to! Even though I am running really late this morning- but I have to capture this moment. My Mom's Heart is bursting with pride!!!!
Scott and I are in the car waiting for the bus, talking about his College Application Essay. He is starting to do the rough draft and said that his teacher made the point to him that even if he might not write is technically perfect, what he is saying will make him as asset on any college campus.
Scott told me and her that he is finding that now that he is taking a lot of course he enjoys, he has a "passion for learning" and wants to learn as much as he can. His favorite course is Psychology, he loves learning about the brain and how is really is like a machine.
Some of you know this but if you don't, Scott has had a rough education experience, partly due to his illness and partly due to a very unique, out of the box and stubborn frusty learning style. He has hated school for years and has always had a hard time translating why it is important to learn things that are not relevant to him into his own reality. (does that makes sense?)
This to me as a mom makes me proud. And a teacher and a psychology major who also LOVES learning how the brain works-- its thrilling!!!!
OMG- this made me soooo happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
