Moving the shop to the new server

We will be moving the shop to the new server

Tuesday, June 12, 2012

We will need to close the shop briefly for the transfer.

Expected down time is approximately 6 hours.



I will update this thread when the actual transfer is complete and we have switched the DNS record to point to the new server.

At that point, we will just be waiting for the address to propagate - it can be instantaneous for some and up to 36 hours for others. Most will fall in to around the 2 hour range.

Update: It's 9:30 am CST, Tuesday morning.

I've started the transfer of the database and am preparing to do the upgrades. Upgrading the database and configuration will take a few hours, then I'll change the dns address record and we should be good to go

I've made the switch! we have one glitch that will hopefully be fixed tomorrow, but in the meantime, we've written up some helpful hints on dealing with it, plus a little roadmap of some of the changes in the shop here: https://ozone.oscraps.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23334
