that I stopped working to have my first baby. I kind of knew I wouldn't go back as frankly I was hating my job and it simply didn't pay well enough to cover the cost of nursery/nanny fees. Another baby followed, then another. Then scrapbooking took over my life hurt: I think we can all relate to this one!!).
But today, 13 yrs to the date, I started paid employment again. OMGoodness, was I scared and nervous! I'm working for my friend's company selling kitchens, something I know absolutely nothing about! But I do like to cook and I know what feels like it works or not in my own kitchen. I'm also a damn fine adminstrator - or rather, I was, 13 yrs ago!
Anyway, surfice to say, I survived my first day, didn't make too many blunders - and only had to leave 15 mins early to collect a sick child from school!!! Thank goodness my boss has kids at the same school and totally gets that side of family life.
So, my DH is not going to be able to retire anytime soon, but it feels good, I think, to have stepped back onto the ladder - albeit very little steps at a time!!
Yay me!!
