I found something AWESOME!!! I love O designers!!

I have been wondering why we haven't see anything here for relief efforts in Haiti and I found something awesome accidentally while I was looking through the O gallery. I know that this kit isn't actually here at the O but it has talent from some of our talented designers here at Oscraps. I am so proud to call this site my home and want to share this with all of you.

At Songbird Avenue they have a GORGEOUS charity kit available. For those of you that don't know what Songbird Avenue is...it is a site that sells one kit a month and the proceeds all go to a charity. This month the proceeds are going to Doctor's Without Borders to specifically help the people of Haiti. How wonderful is that? I saw that it was a Collab kit and it looks like nearly 60 designers put their hard work into it, including several of our wonderful O-designers, along with many other big names throughout the digiscrap community.

The kit is called Port Au Prince and is amazing. Check it out :HERE: I am so glad to have checked out the gallery and seen this and now be able to share it with all of you. I'm now off to buy this.

Thank you Clara for posting this here. I am one of the contributing designers to this amazing kit. It's huge and gorgeous and I really hope everyone checks it out. Songbird Ave does an amazing job raising money and 100% of this kit goes to Doctors Without Borders.
 
I saw you there Hollie. I was going to list everyone from here that participated but decided not to. I saw at least 4 and some Olumni. I was looking at how they do the breakdown of what goes where and they give everything they get back from Paypal. So the only thing taken out is what Paypal takes out. they use advertising space to pay for the site not a dime of what is spent on the kits. It is so awesome.

I'm so glad you posted this - I was about to post this yesterday but wasn't sure whether Jan and co would want me to and whether Vicki would think it appropriate.

It's an amazing kit and Medecine sans Frontieres is an extremely good place for the money to be going to.
 
Oh this is just amazing!! I think it is great that everyone is pitching in to help!! The devistation of this tragedy breaks my heart and I wish I could go over there...but my life does not allow for it, so helping in small ways like this makes me feel like we are all pitching in!! What amazing designers we have here at the O!!

Their blog post today says in less than 2 days they've already made $1,500... I think this is amazing & everything in the kit is gorgeous, so you get to help & get something beautiful!!

Yes, of course you can post this here. I was one of the participating designers, too, and I meant to post here, but got sidetracked by some site issues and spaced it.

Thanks for the heads up, it's a beautiful kit and I might feel guilty getting so much for such a small fee that goes to such a worthy cause. chris

That is soooooooo awesome. I am so glad that it has been so successful already. Can you imagine by the end of the month? I love successful fundraising.
 
An idea for those that want to help more, and help some digi friends at the same time...

I just saw over at "The Happy Place" at DigiShopTalk that one person bought 3 giftcards to Songbird Ave. so they could give away 3 of these kits to people who maybe couldn't afford even the $8 for this cause/kit. I think this was so generous!
 
Oh, my those colours - off to lookie lookie - what a wonderful creation - and of course our "O" designers helped!
 
I too bought this yesterday. What a fantastic way to use your talents for the good of the world! In addition to the penny wars at school, the pajama day donations, etc. I can also contribute by scrapbooking! It's awesome!!
 
I have to cash in some reward points for Paypal- as soon as that clears, I am grabbing it.It is truly beautiful!
