Hi. I've been enjoying browsing the gallery and making purchases in the shop. I thought I would take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Linda and I am originally from New Jersey, but have lived in PA for the past six years. I'm a wife, mother of two sons and grandmother to three wonderful grandchildren. I started scrapbooking over ten years ago when we found out we were expecting our first granddaughter. I finally purchased PSE this summer and have been learning all I can about the digital aspects. I'm overwhelmed by the talent in this community, but have resolved to start contributing in the New Year. I thought I would start with some challenges especially if they involve lifting another design. I think I'll be lifting for awhile until I get the hang of the style I want to learn. Any suggestions and constructive criticism are welcome and would be greatly appreciated. Now I'll be off to try and figure out how to create an album and upload a page. I may be back quicker than I think for help. Thank you in advance.

Linda

Hi Linda!
Welcome to the O.
Good thing to start with lifting pages. You'll eventually find your own style, and your gallery will be getting bigger and bigger :)

:welcome: Linda to our "O" hOme.

It can be a little overwhelming when you first start digital scrapping but we have great challenges.

One is the copycat challenge where you are supplied with a template.

Templates, I found helpful when I first began, well actually I still do :)

Check out the freebies in the shoppe for goodies. Our designers are super generous.

You may want to check out the 52 Inspirations 2012 Forum this may interest you. https://ozone.oscraps.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=281

If you need help just holler!
Most of all have fun and join in the forums and challenges

Again welcome!

Thanks for the welcome

It's nice to meet you all. To Chris, there are many things I miss but I've tried to control myself and not say how much I miss the pizza, or hard rolls, bagels, crusty rye bread, fresh seafood and yes, even sometimes, the crazy summer traffic headed to the shore. But there's one thing I really need and that's the T-shirt that says "Jersey Girls Don't Do Gas!"

I just completed my first LO and was able to create an album and upload the photo. I wanted to submit it to the Anna lift, but found I don't have the required amount of posts. I checked out the forum rules and will have to get busy posting.

Thanks again, and I'll be back.

Hi Linda, welcome to the O!

If you leave comments on the gallery, that will bump up your posts and you can then submit to the challenges.

Have fun here!

Thank you all for such a warm welcome. I'm tickled that Anna Aspnes even dropped in to say hi. Thank you Anna. If you haven't noticed yet, she's my idol and the reason I found Oscraps. I want to learn everything she has to offer. I've scoured her blog, read every tutorial I could find and bought several of her samplers and layered templates to start (following her suggestion). With the New Year I hope to use the challenges to practice my skills and become a better digi scrapper. Thanks again for making me feel so welcome here.

Hi Linda and welcome from a (former) Jersey girl. It's been so long, I don't even understand what your T-shirt means :) (Truly, I don't!). I would tell you how long it has been, but that would make me seem old :)

Anyway, you will not be alone in the Anna-Fan club here :) There is an AnnaLift every Friday, which can help you to learn a lot!

We will also be featuring tips and techniques on our blog and the Techniques challenge...more great ways to learn!

Quickpages can be a really good way to get rolling, and also to study page composition.

Oh and as a quilter I am intrigued by your user name...when I think Lancaster County and quilts, I think of Sauders...mean anything to you?? :) (Oh, the hours I have spent at Sauders...my husband always said they were so smart to put a bench outside in the shade :)).

Again, welcome, and let us know if we can help in any way!

Thank you girls.

Diane - Of course I know Sauders. Many a bag of their fabric has followed me home. My husband loves it there. He talks to all the ladies and browses the bulk food.
I spent the first 56 years of my life in NJ and, I believe, you are still not allowed to pump your own gas. I only did it once since I've been here and managed to catch my pinky in the spring in the handle. Maybe Jersey knows what its doing. LOL No wonder I can't figure out how to post my LOs in the Challenge threads!

ooooh, ok, now I get the gas thing! Since I moved out of state when I was 18, I only drove in NJ for a year, and of course they pumped the gas there, it was like 19xx :)

I do recall now trying to gas up a rental car and my hubby getting into trouble :)
The last several times we've visited, including just last week, we return the car in NY.

I do totally relate to 'down the shore' :) By far my happiest childhood memories are from the Jersey shore :)

Is there a limit to LOs you can have in your Favorites in the gallery? I can't stop adding. LOL

Not that I know of, however it does become more difficult to find them once you get lots of pages of them! Don't ask how I know!!
