Oscraps

Do any of you feel that you don't have any main style for scrapping?

I was looking through my gallery here and I feel like I don't fit into any category. i am literally all over the place. I have some minimal pages, some artsy pages, some cluttered pages. Lots of pages with no journaling, at least I am consistent in that LOL

Sometimes (ok, a lot of the time  ) I don't feel like I have an talent or creativity in scrapping. i wonder if it is because I don't feel connected or influenced by a particular style?

Do any of you feel that way, like you don't have a certain recognizable way to scrap? Does it bother you at all or make you wonder if you are any good, like it does to me on occasion?

just curious. :)

I don't have a style...and I am glad....I love to try new things and learn all that I can....I feel if I stick to one style I more limited to what I can scrap with. The very hardest thing for me is CLEAN AND SIMPLE.....does that say anything about me?? BWhahahahaha!!! :help:

Frani-- that is exactly it!!! You said it so well.

I am kind of like that IRL too- I can cook, but nothing spectacular. I can crochet, but meh, not very well. I can draw, but just ok.

I feel the same way Chris... but sometimes I come up with a great page when I try a new style, you will have to come and scrap chat with us and we will have to try to pick a layout to lift that has a style that is new to you. It's fun!!

always chatty at the O!!
I tend to lean toward simpler pages...but I do like to break out of that sometimes. I adore some of the artsy designers here and while that is not my style so much I end up adoring their kits...like Maya...if I look at the preview I think "Wow I have no idea what I would do with that" but then I get my hands on it it just flows and I'll come up with a LO I love...but then I'll get my hands on a gorgeous C&S kit totally stuck. I think I like doing layouts opposite of what the kit is geared towards. I'm not sure if that makes sense.

I do tend to wonder what the heck I'm doing. As many people know I am a total template whore and cannot start a LO without a template to get me started. It makes me wonder if I really have any creativity or am just putting together a puzzle. But when I do use templates I have an idea of what I am looking for when I search for it and will often mix templates or straight up destroy the template.

Now, all that being said...I do not do artsy pages in general but did a page using Anna's stuff and it was a lot of fun.

I tend to think I'm all over the board. While my most comfortable style is the more minimal & clean/simple I tend to like stepping away & just playing up other styles.

I've tried a ton of different styles, & can honestly say I love the shear variety that IS digi scrapping. And I love how even the same "style" is adapted to fit each scrapper.

As for you girls not feeling you have creativity, that's BS! hehe Just to do this. Just to open up your program & record something in this way. That's creative!

Keep playing with Style!

I don't have one particular style - at least I don't think I do - I love trying new and different techniques. I seem to have evolved since I first started a few years ago.

The gallery is a great source of inspiration and my favourites folder is huge tho sometimes I can't imagine ever being able to create such beauty.

It takes me a long time to finish a layout now - partly due to health problems and also because I'm never satisfied with what I've done.

But that doesn't stop me loving digital scrapping.
I'm keen to try Maya's Art Journal challenge - that should crush some sides of my box.

Working with Anna's kits and watching her YouTube videos has helped me grow.

Art Journaling for some reason is sooooo hard for me....I think it's because you need to let yourself go and not be so strict on having everything in place just so.....I may have to try that challenge just to make myself create....probably chaos.....LOL

Clean and Minimal is also a hard one for me.....I just keep wanting to add more and more stuff.....

I hear you Chris, same thing here....can do a lot of things, just not great!!!!!!!

That's funny...I have the opposite issue. There are a ton of things I'd love to play with but cannot make work to save my life...hence simpler pages. I cannot use those really cool rolled-paper flowers to save my life.

i scrap what i feel (when I do scrap which isn't so much of late) and since i feel scattered most of the time, i tend to scrap all over the place too lol

I'm most comfortable with clean and simple. I tried to scrap with all the layering and clustering of embellies but it just didn't fit me. So I quit trying to make myself into something I'm not.

On the other hand, I do like Anna's Art Play products. I find that you can't go wrong with Art Play.

i don't have a style as such , although sometimes people say that's a typical you layout.
i love trying out new things but struggle with the clean look as i want to add more stuff.

I ususally just start and see where it takes me.

I love doing all types- basically love clean and simple, and my challenge- clustering without sticker sneeze- I am loving Anna's Art Play series because the use of lots is more blended- oh how could I forget blending- I love blending!

whew! So glad it is not just me ::grouphug

I might actually have to break down and try Selena's journaling challenge just to get "out there."
(Isn't it funny for someone who likes to blab so much, it is hard for me to journal?? )

And Anna's Art Play was a blast to work with and I loved the results even though it was very different than what i am used to doing.
