Hiya, dear O-Fam.
Nope, not going to bother telling you how I feel right now, you already know ;)
#sleeping

I had another mixed bag yesterday. It started with me losing a contact lens somewhere in my bathroom. I had just put in, then realized I couldn't see out of that eye. Brand new pair too. pfft
The rest of the day was fine until 5 minutes before dinner, I decided to check on a gift that I ordered through Etsy and still had not received. The store is no longer selling on Etsy.
Wha?????? Thanks for letting me know three days before Christmas  I was able to get a refund approved by Etsy but that doesn't help me for Saturday. I was feeling pretty good about where I was and now I have to go out shopping today. I'm only going in town, there is a pharmacy/gift shop that has some cute stuff. If not they sell gourmet chocolate that my SIL will love.

Aside from running around town, I am cleaning my house today, it's a disaster LOL Serious disaster.

xoxo

@LSlycord That stinks that Brian had to wait so long for nothing with the tire. I hope it went better yesterday.
Robins are always one of the first birds we notice in springtime. It's sweet to be out there watching them and thinking of family. I am not sure if it's the time of year or if I am way past overtired but I have been feeling very nostalgic myself.
It's been funny that you and Syd nap together, I remember coming home after my first semester and napped in my mom's bed (I also had mono so I didn't do much other than sleep during that break). I might have to pop down to FL and maybe I can finally get some sleep at your house??
Sadly, there are several friends in Scott and Caitlyn's friend group that are addicts or recovering addicts. I know of a few that do carry Narcan just in case. :( Thankfully, most of their friends are in recovery. *prays they stay clean*

@BrightEyes tomorrow is the day that the frigid air is coming in, We are supposed to hit 55* tomorrow afternoon and then plunge into the teens by dinner time.
Sheesh, that patio light would have started me too, glad that it was just accidental. So nice that you got to catch up with DD#1

@vickyday Glad I am not the only one who wants to cry when I wake up! Caitlyn is very much like a mini-me, like you and Jessica
Are you getting parts of the same storm we are getting? It's supposed to be rain mostly but then tomorrow mix with snow. I am 100% with you, as much as I hate snow, I prefer that over ice! Be safe!

@bcgal00 I have been thinking of you and Jen as it gets close to Christmas. Maybe a blessing in disguise that Jen is working extra hours this week? Either way-- big hugs to you all xoxoxo
I don't know how you can cope with the temps that cold. Esp since Remi must give you the puppy eyes-- mo-ooooom, please take me outside and play!

@Cherylndesigns hmmm. was it warm here last Christmas? I feel like I have blocked so much of that out. It's going to be super cold this weekend, with wind chills near 0*
I am happy that you got your tree, were you able to put up your wreath too?

@tanteva that's not good that your ear is hurting again. usually, the meds knock that out fast. :( Hope that you are better today. Congrats to your coworker!
I'm sorry to hear about John's childhood friend. BTDT and it is heartbreaking. It's hard to imagine the dark turns from the boy you remember to what happened now. One boy that passed a few years ago was someone I taught in PreK. I was looking through old class pictures to see if I had any of him that I could pass along to Scott's friend. But that was before digital cameras and you didn't take a million pics a day. Hugs xo

have a fantastic day and stay warm!!

Good morning all! It's 49* and very cloudy today. Had a fun day yesterday. Shaun asked if we could have little smokies in barbecue and jelly sauce. He said that he had been thinking about how we used to have them for Christmas Eve when we went to Mom and Dad's. So I decided that we would just have an appetizer night. Syd and I went to the grocery store together and we bought ingredients for the little smokies as well as ham/cream cheese/pickle roll ups, Brian's famous cheese ball and caprese appetizers. I made some peanut butter cookies and banana bread with blueberries so those were our desserts. Sydney decided to throw in a couple of bottles of sparkling grape juice so we sat around and ate and just had a really good time.

Brian actually got the car in at the shop and one tire had a small hole where air would disappear. $20 later and it is all fixed. Nothing costs $20 anymore. I felt like I should celebrate that. #clap

And now, starting off this morning, the coffee pot has gone kerplunk. Brian is in there trying to get it to start...but it won't work. #angry2 This may be a non-caffeinated day.#sleeping

I looked on Amazon and the soonest that I could get one was Saturday. I'm pretty sure that Brian will soon be heading to the store for a coffee pot. (I guess that they are coffee makers nowadays!)

Birds are singing even though it's ugly outside. I think I'll take a page from their book and be a happy songbird today in spite of the gloom and lack of coffee.

@faerywings I have plenty of nostalgic moments but this year they are really hanging on. The good news is that they make me feel so grateful to have had those in my life instead of sad that I don't have them anymore. I'm not sure why the difference. Maybe part of the aging process...whatever the reason, I'll take it. That makes me so sad that there are kids that need to carry Narcan around with them, just in case. @Cherylndesigns I didn't get any for Syd. However, I think that we will have a conversation about it. Maybe when she is in her own apartment. I think that the problem would be that she wouldn't think of a drug overdose and would be afraid to use the Narcan unless she knew that's what had happened.

So while, I was typing Brian came out and said that he can't get the coffee pot to work. I told him that Amazon Prime could get one here on Saturday. I wish you could have seen the size of his eyes! LOL He said that he would get cleaned up and head to Walmart. I told him that he could go to the Publix 5 minutes away and I'm pretty sure they will have one in the section of kitchen appliances/tools. I'm not sure that I have ever known Brian to leave the house without getting "cleaned up" but he is going to Publix now. I really do need the laughing out loud emoji for this!

@vickyday did yesterday end up as a PJ day? Or did you decide to get dressed since you would need to do that for church anyway? I hope however it was spent, you got some relaxation out of it! I do feel so blessed with the relationship that I have with Syd. Your relationship with Jessica sounds so similar...the Daily O's is full of people who have close relationships with their daughters. Thanks for the book recommendation! I'll add it to my list.

@BrightEyes that Harry & David's box sounds so good. You will be enjoying that for awhile I'm sure!

@Cherylndesigns your nighttime scrapping reminds me of my mom. My dad would go to bed around 9 and get up early. My mom would stay up until midnight or 1 so she could get up late. Even when she worked outside of the home, she would still stay up late because that is when she had her free time with everyone else in bed.

LOL ladies---Brian has returned with the coffee pot! And I am now drinking a nice fresh cup of coffee!

@bcgal00 I am amazed at both you and Jen. Of course you have sad times but you keep on embracing your life. I have ordered a field book of birds of Florida so I'm anxious to take that with me next time we head to Merritt Island.

Ok...I'm off to the Gallery for a bit.

Morning, all. Well, I did the reverse of a PJ day last night. I was wearing sweat pants and shirt during the day as it was cold. Decided to lay down in bed to read (6:30 PM) as the back was aching. I vaguely remember turning the light off. Yep, slept in the sweats all night!!! I am glad I live on the west side of the mountains as the frigid temps (below zero wind chills) are hitting the east side of the state today and not making it over the mountain to our side. Brrrr!!! Glad I got my errands ran yesterday while it was "warm" (39*F) and plan on staying in until after the weekend is over. Decided to cook instead of 'nuke' supper last night. Had a grilled pork chop with seasoned cube potatoes and a sliced fresh pear - and indulged in a couple of pieces of chocolate for dessert. I do love my George Forman grill as it sure makes it easy to grill while staying inside. :D

Did a bit of CT scrapping for Jan challenge I am hosting. And did some other CT work. Thinking ahead to the start of the New Year and also reviewing what this past year has brought. I make those pages to go into DH's memory albums. It helps to look back through them and see how far I have come since his death 5 years ago in January 2018. I think of them as a Celebration of our life together.

@LSlycord - I could feel Brian's pain at the thought of no coffee when the coffee pot wouldn't work this morning!!! Mine gave up the ghost earlier this year and I was almost as bad as he was rushing out to buy a new one!!! Glad he was able to find one right away so he... and you... could have your coffee. #coffee I do keep some instant flavored coffee on hand just in case. LOL Your appetizer supper sounds yummy... so glad you and Sid found all you needed for it.

@faerywings - wow, you have been the Queen of cooking, gift wrapping, and getting ready for the holiday. So sorry about the store closing without warning and had not shipped the present. Glad you were able to get a refund on it. Chocolate is always a good substitute if the person likes it. Stay warm as that is a bad storm heading your way.

@Cherylndesigns saw your delightful pages on FB. When my kids were little I used to stay up late to have some time to myself to sew or work on other projects. Glad you have family around to get you out and doing things together... or should I say 'getting you in trouble together'??? :p

@bcgal00 My hat is off to you for how you still get out in brutally cold temps and take such fantastic photos!!! Sorry Jen's boss was ill and she will be working extra hours to help out. Yes, I do understand why this time of year is hard with memories of Bailey coming to mind. <<< hugs >>>

@vickyday Hope you enjoyed your PJ day. Did you get dressed to go to church?? snicker I love my PJ days.

The coffee cup is empty so time to close this out. Have a wonderful holiday.

That stinks about the Etsy shop! Glad you were able to get a refund, at least! When we lived in WV there was a pharmacy in the town down the street that had lots of cute gifts in it, too. They were a bit expensive, but not too. I used to pop in there for a quick gift quite often! Hope you find the perfect gift!

Yes, I think we are in the same storm system as you. However, since we are a bit south, they are not calling for snow. Our temps are hovering right around freezing. We have ice warnings. As a matter of fact, the governor has already issued a state of emergency for NC! 2 days ago, lol! How ridiculous! At least wait until the "weather" gets here!

Oh no! No hi-test coffee to start your day?! Hopefully he has the coffee maker fixed by now! Fingers crossed!
Your appetizer night sounds like a lot of fun! I've been thinking of things Mark and I could do differently, especially since he will be off for the next 11 days! Holy Moly! At least (weather permitting) he will be in the woods most of the time, LOL! I'm praying the rain stops REALLY SOON! ;)

LOL! Yes, I enjoyed my PJ day, but I did have to get dressed up to go to church! Pastor would frown on my walking in with PJs on! They can do that at Walmart, but not church, LOL.....well, not our church, anyway! Since Tim died some of the ladies are even wearing pants on Wednesdays (including me). Tim was pretty conservative when it came to the way you dressed for church! He always had a suit and tie on! Our current pastor.....not so much!

Good Morning, Ladies!
Gotta get dressed here in a minute as DH wants to go to lunch! Twice in one week! He is getting psyched about being off for the next 11 days! I sure hope the weather changes and the rain stops soon! Otherwise he will be in the house with the TV blaring! I might have to buy some earplugs! ;) But I'm glad he is taking some time off. It has been a rough couple of months for him at work.

I did enjoy my PJ day yesterday until I had to get dressed for church, LOL! But got back in them as soon as I got home!

Mark got the back of my nativity set cut out. Now I need to figure out the rest of it!

I had another sleepless-in-Wallburg night last night! I finally got a little bit of sleep after Mark left for work. I got up at 9:10. I hope that means I will be able to sleep like a rock tonight!

As much as I dread it, after I take Mark back to the shop, I need to get some groceries for the weekend. Mark will be home for the next 11 days with the Christmas and New Years holidays. Plus he took 3 days off in between. When he is here, he eats.....especially if the weather is bad and he has to be indoors!

OK, gotta get dressed! People may go to Walmart in their jammies, but I don't go out of the house in mine!

Have a great day!

I am not feeling great today, really low. A bit surprised actually that the death of a person I haven't met in years would effect me this much. Dreamt about it all night too.

Did get a layout done though today. Thought I'd share since you all wanted to see Hilma.

Nothing make my soul happier than designs from Anna. Well, maybe yarn. And chocolate. LOL

Good (almost) afternoon.

Well, we're getting the storm! It's hitting us with a vengeance! Sounds like we live in Siberia the way the wind is whipping around the house. I saw the weather map last night and we were right in the grips of the bad stuff. I hope this doesn't last long - it's 8 degrees right now and there are wind advisories. Really, Captain Obvious???? Kay @BrightEyes good thing you're on the side of the mountain you're on - hopefully, you'll miss the worst of this. It's a doozie! Chris @faerywings i don't remember what the east coast weather was like lastt Dec but it was SO warm here. What a difference a year makes. I remember putting the temp each day on my Document Your December pages. I need to get those out and look at them right now. Hopefully, this will move through fast. The weather forecast for all across the country sound bad.

Linda @LSlycord and Kay @BrightEyes I've always stayed up late too - after everybody else went to bed. I could get so much done in two or three house with no interruptions. That was my "ME TIME". I worked for years and had to be at work at 7:30 (gasp) and still stayed up late. I probably averaged 6 hours of sleep all those years, but apparently I don't need any more than that. Now that I can do whatever I want, I usually get up about 9 AM.

Kay @BrightEyes thanks for your kind words about my layouts. That's how I unwind at night and I scrap until I get so sleepy that I can barely make it to my bed. After I drink my "night time" tea, I have about 45 minutes until it kicks in, so I love scrapping until then. I've had sleep disorder my whole life - hence my staying up late because I have to be extremely sleepy before I get into bed or I'll just lay there. I came up with this tea combination with the help of our house cleaner who just got her degree in herbalism, and I've never slept better in my life. It was some trial and error, but we finally got it just right.

Chris @faerywings I got the tree exactly how I wanted it, finally. I ended up just putting some red holly berries on my door wreath. The wind is supposed to be so strong that I figured a lot of things, like ornaments, would probably just blow off. I also have that new wreath on the window hanging in my kitchen and I put some holly berries on it, too. They look really nice and t's easy peasy.

Eva @tanteva sending you hugs - I hope you get to feeling better. As some of us know, Christmas can be a very sad time when it's supposed to be such a happy time. I just don't listen to the "sappy" songs - like "I;ll Be Home For Christmas". I stick to the upbeat, happy songs when I do listen to Christmas music.. Country music is a good alternative too for Christmas music. I prefer songs like Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree and Jingle Bell Rock.

Happy December 22 - three more days before Christmas. I need to turn my owl advent guy today.

XOXO

PS Chris @faerywings that stinks about the Etsy shop gift! Glad you at least got your money back.

Just got a snap from one of my best friends. Her father passed away this afternoon. Gee ... this will be a great Christmas for her family. Her daugthers are cousins to the guy who I learned had passed away yesterday.
