The camera couldn't see the off-the-charts red we could so easily see, so I used bracketing to get what I needed. Twenty minutes after sunrise, the sun was still a vivid red ball. And then again on Monday as we drove home it was red again. Likely from the big fire at Sylvan Lake, 150 miles away.
Thanks, Diane. More than an hour for a page like this, Maybe an hour searching for a bird other than the robin to put above the text block, then eventually giving up and "fixing" the one in the template. LOL I also messed with the colors endlessly.
Oh, wow! It's about sixty years ago, but I vaguely remember that building from my younger days. It made an impression on me at the time and I love your page. Beautiful work!
The young coots had grown quite a bit and were smaller, light gray versions of their parents. We were there a lot longer than usual, as I wanted to study every cattail, every milkweed flower and every primrose until I felt a little guilty that I was letting the golden hour get away.
It was the first time I had ever seen a river otter, and at first I wasn't sure if that funny thing following a ways behind him in the water was his tail, but yes, it was. He wasn't far from us and swam towards us munching his way along not the least bit bothered by our presence.
6 1/2 yrs, so over 15,000 a year. How about 150 miles round trip for a haircut? This is Colorado and we can't think about distances the way I did when I lived in New Jersey or Philadelphia.
