It was the first day of Spring and I was in shock. Thousands of people were kidnapped from Mariupol and taken to Russia. The horror stories would come later, but now I had to get my feet back on the ground and reckon this news with the idea that it's all good and working as it should.

It was a tough week where I was way too worn out from our trip and had trouble standing up. News of Putin's war weighed heavy on us too, but I sorted through my photos and they kep my spirits up. In just two weeks we'd go again and I wondered if a few cranes would still be there.

I wanted to start with a bird and have it be about spring. So I picked the crane. Then I tried all sorts of things to turn my page into a graphic style but it wanted to go a different way, so I let it but put in as much texture as I could. ;)

You're right. I do use flowers on my pages, and have shopped obsessively to find ones more appropriate to my photos. Would refuse to use anything that wasn't pretty close to what I saw that day. But now I'm trying some of the flowers that came in the ColorPlay kits because I like to keep...

I plan to try another AnnaColor page using only Anna's products, but these colors, and I had been working on this one anyway.

The weather pattern was a consistent warming then a cold front, often with snow. A record low temperature of -3 for March 10th was broken when it got down to 7 below. The third week of March was no different. Up in the sixties and then a snow forecast for the first days of Spring.
