With snow in the forecast for our last day of the trip, it was a happy surprise when we woke up and it hadn't arrived. At MVNWR there were three vehicles besides ours and the most birds in the sky we had seen. We could see the snow coming in and we met it on the road as we left.
Love the two pups and the guitars in the background the most of all. I hope you get your trip to NE when it's not quite as cold as we found Alamosa this week! ;)
It was cold every morning at the refuge with lows consistently around 6-7 degrees, but we noticed that the daily high temperatures closer to 40 in the afternoon had slowly melted some of the ice. At DIA the record of -3 set in 1932 was broken when Denver reached -7F.
We're 4 1/2 hours south and west of Denver, at Alamosa. Gibbon Nebraska is the same distance for us, but we know Alamosa better, same birds but more people visit the place in Nebraska I think. We saw two other vehicles today, and they say they get 23,000 birds at MVNWR.
Wow a wonderful tribute page. She was about a year older than my mom, and I was born in 1947. ;) So there's a lot here I immediately felt connected to, and I especially love the butterfly collection.
We took a lot of photos in the half hour before sunrise, but stayed less than 15 minutes after sunrise. It was just too cold. I sat in the Jeep with a good view and stayed fairly warm. But you stood outside and your hands got very cold. The cranes and geese got along well together.
This is great! I went to see that boat and love how you've put it in the water and added reflections. Cool! I think using different software in your work helps your mind escape any box it was in.
Wonderful and fun, I feel like it's all about playing. The torn photos pieced back together so perfectly and the sketched background that also matches so well. LOVE!
