At the HIX, they decorated for Halloween. While we waited for our room to be ready, I took a photo of the witch decorating the fireplace and wearing a shawl. We were glad to get into our room on the third floor, but there were no aspen outside our window.
Love this! I too have a barn photo that's haunted me for a few years, but as it got further into the past it quit bugging me. Very similar. I could just lift your whole design and have it done perfectly, if only I had a more recent story to go with it. Maybe this winter. :p
In addition to the golden eagle at Alamosa NWR, we saw a mother and her baby duck, and a lot of hunters were on the overlook road. I didn't mind my camera getting wet as it started to rain, because I was studying the puffs of milkweed, so close to blowing away as the wind picked up.

This is beautiful and I love how you used the colors. A really quiet place but sometimes sounds of children outside. In a small cubby off the main floor is a single desk with a old man in a suit writing a letter with a fountain pen.
Great photos and flow. I struggled for years about the gutter. Maybe use a fade gradient or one of Anna's book textures that just divides the two sides end of story? That's how I gained an affection for those spiral bindings and other things that distract me from the issue entirely. ;)
I like your intersection of lines and the subdued mood so perfect for your message here. Just how it would feel to me, and that would be on a good day. :D
