Art Journaling ~ Come Join Our Challenges!!

SusiePArt Journal & Hybrid, Blog, Challenges

Every month this year we will have a new topic and for that month we will explore different aspects of that topic. This month was “BALANCE”, and we had quite a few interpretations of it. That’s what you get when you get many people in one place – a differing perspective based on where one is in life at the moment.

I think we all try to live with our life in balance, and many times we get off track and spend time finding our way again, whether it’s due to life circumstances, changes, or tragedies.

Our first week was prompted with this quote:

“Life is all about balance. You don’t always need to be getting stuff done. Sometimes it’s perfectly okay, and absolutely necessary, to shut down, kick back, and do nothing.” – Lori Deschene

Week 2 was “EQUILIBRIUM”: We’re delving into the concept of balance through the lens of its synonym, “equilibrium.” Equilibrium encompasses not just physical balance, but also emotional, mental, and spiritual stability. Let’s explore this multifaceted theme.

Week 3 found us exploring this question:

“What does balance mean to you in the context of your life right now?”

And we are on Week 4 right now, with an emphasis on how yoga poses make us feel in the sense of balance.

In whatever position one is in, or in whatever condition in life one is placed, one must find balance. Balance is the state of the present – the here and now. If you balance in the present, you are living in Eternity. — B.K.S. Iyengar

Possessing strength and stillness is a sign of balance: power and serenity combined in one moment. It’s challenging enough to hold either one, let alone both, in perfect equipoise, but that is the goal if we want to be balanced. — Sebastian Pole

One way I try to create balance in my life is through yoga. It helps me to recreate a state of mental balance as well as physical balance. One part of a yoga practice is to apply balance to your everyday life. Today we are going to use some yoga poses to see how they help you to recreate Balance in a digital scrap page.
