A Font Doc Challenge

SaraTips & Techniques

So, over the course of my Font Doc posts, we’ve talked about using serif and sans-serif fonts, script vs. print, fun vs. serious, matching the mood, mixing fonts, and even making your own.

Today I have a challenge for you.  I get to pick a journaling prompt and you get to show off the font you chose to journal about it with!  It doesn’t have to be a book of journaling, just a sentence or two.  You don’t even have to create a whole page!  Just give us a screen shot of your sentence and explain why you chose the font you did!  Link us up to your image in the contents and let’s see everyone’s take on matching font to topic!

Your starter is….”This weekend, I really want to….”

Here is my same and my explanation for why I chose the font that I did.

So we got a new bed.  That much is obvious.  🙂  But it’s a NICE bed.  It’s soft and squishy, but not too soft and squishy.  And comfortable and….you get the point.  So I needed a “soft” font – no sharp edges.  Probably a script.  Something relaxed though, so no tight curls or lines…nice and relaxed.  It’s also an expensive bed…so in my mind…a bit more on the elegant side and less on the “little-kid-writing-like-a-cloud” side.  So this is what I picked.  It’s called CluffHMK.  (My HMK fonts have come from the Hallmark Card Creator Studio software, in case you’re curious.)

So there you have it – a challenge issued and a sample for you to see!  🙂  Join in!
