Yuck!!!

clarabear

always chatty at the O!!
So....Have any of your kids had ringworm?? My husband thinks Ethan has it. He has what looks like bruise that is donut shaped and is about the size of a quarter. Any thoughts? What did you do about it? Should I send him to school? What's the story? It is totally foreign to me and doesn't look gross like I had always expected. Fill me in guys.

I had it as a small girl, send him to the doctor, they will give meds for it. You can send him to school, I don't thing anyone can catch it from him. Not sure though. I don't even know how I got it, I was very little.

Make sure you keep it covered so that he wont spread it to you guys and addie... Sucks that this would show up right after he started at a new school!!! Grr, maybe tell the teacher? Someone could be spreading it around...

In NJ, ringworm is one of the Communicable Diseases and you can't be in school if you have it. (Although I should say this is from my experience with it when I was teaching 15 years ago, so it is possible it has changed)

all i remember about it is that it is a fungal infection. But I would get him to the dr, get some meds and see what the dr says as a next step.

That's what I was telling my husband and he didn't believe me Chris. He was saying to send him out the door. Ugh!! We got up early for nothing. Hopefully I'll be able to get him scheduled this morning. Fingers crossed. Ugh!! Nothing until I can call at 2. Maybe one of Derek's docs in Nuc Med will prescribe him something and write a note for school. Ringworm. Ugh!!! Lame!!

My only experience with it is like Trudy...I had it on my arm when I was a small girl...but if I remember correctly...it is contagious..as this is how I got it...from school.

The Dr is the best route!!

Yep...to the doctor he went and the doctor said...it was a bruise. Derek is such a hypochondriac!!! Ugh!!!

Oh man Clara. I almost hate it when that happens. Going to the doctor for things that don't turn out to be what we thought. But it's good it was just a bruise!

(And on a side note, did someone say it was time to change our avis??? Looking goooood ladies!)

The doctor said it did look just like ringworm and had to be diligent about going through all of the other symptoms. It didn't itch. That was a big one. Butthere were a few others that she went through apparently. But through all of this...I sat at the Tricare office aka health insurance office and FINALLY got the kids set up where I want them. Not me, but that is okay. They are set up where I want them. So...something good came of all of this nonsense. LOL!!

I need to take a picture of the not ringworm. I think I'll do that tomorrow.

oh man, i shouldn't laugh but I guess i have to admit, this got a chuckle out of me.
It sounds like soemthing I would do ;)
