So, as many of you know I can NOT find an x-ray job anyplace in or near Fayetteville. Being from Washington State...the home of Starbucks I love coffee. I miss being able to get coffee anywhere and everywhere. We have 2 Starbucks shops with Drive thru...2 in stores and 2 shops on post. Then I know of 4 other shops in the area. 1 closed, 1 is at my church and 2 have crappy coffee. So, what does a girl who can't find a job and never gets her froofroo coffee do? Well, she opens a coffee stand. Not a shop...just a stand...2 drive thru windows and very fast coffee. My sister keeps giving me this list of gimmicks, because in WA you have to have good coffee and a gimmick. As I have mentioned here before the newest gimmick in WA with the coffee stands are bikini baristas. It started as this one place in downtown Seattle to BB's popping up everywhere. My sister has 3 of these stands within a mile of her house. Eeeek!!

So, no boobies...just speedy coffee. The reason for all of this rambling is that I finally started the process today. no longer just talking...now actually doing. So, today I got registered as a business with the IRS and opened a business account. Tomorrow will be business licensing. Then I just have to wait to find out about funding and if that works how I am hoping I can start looking for equipment within a couple of weeks. i am totally excited and wanted to share my excitement with all of you.

the mind boggles as to what have bikinis got to do with coffee??:???:.

Ok but you have to explain what a "stand" is that has a drive thru? When I think stand I think like a lemonade stand. Is this a building that you have to build? What happens when it rains and how do you get electricity into it?

This is so exciting!!!!! Congrats on being a new business owner :)

Sorry, the engineer in me is coming out with all these questions..

Thanks Maureen...you beat me to it.

So...I decided to keep the name really simple and am calling it "The Coffee Stand." We toyed around with some military themed stuff but since there are no other places why not set the precedent and call it The Coffee Stand so that whenever anyone hears Coffee Stand they think of me. I am officially licensed and am now just waiting to hear about funding to start planning the actual stand. I do have to get a stand that is moveable. I've seen some cool stands that have wheels so I just have to be diligent to find one. Supposedly I have to move it when it is closed but wherever I decide to open it I will see about storing it at that location so that I don't have to move it every day. If it is not movable I had to get building permits, get zoned, have a bathroom, etc.

Thank you everyone for your support...it means so much to me. My mom is starting to come around and be actually helpful instead of fake helpful. I feel like there was something else I was going to add...but can't remember what. I'll return when I remember.

I'll have to see if I have a bikini barista pic on my phone. I always seem to be oblivious to them when I'm in WA and pull up to one to get coffee and after sitting for a bit finally see a bikini or a sign or something.

My sister went to a place that had a sign that said something along the lines of "We serve beans in our jeans" or "we have class and don't show our a$$." I saw a sign that said "No pasties but we do have pastries." but it got bought and became a bikini stand. Go figure.

So...no one wants to see me in a bikini so I will definitely be wearing full clothing and the girls I am getting to help me I know from church so I'm pretty sure they will remain clothed also.

My stand will look something along the lines of this...but cuter...I want it to be yellow and white.
