Thank you Buddy. We're feeling very blessed right now, but very sad for the states that got hit.Wow that was scary I know. Glad you are ok @Cherylndesigns
you were lucky indeed !Thanks so much! They were pretty bad and beside and below us, but we were lucky. We have cold temps today that blew in, though.
So glad to hear they are safe!I heard from my DD#2 that the tornado that hit West Brandon, MO was just a few miles from their house. One of the photos of the huge tornado was taken by a neighbor less than a half mile from their house. She and DSon-in-law are okay. So much devastation.
I can't imagine how terrifying this situation is.I was literally crying yesterday while it was on the news. I haven't turned it on today, because I got so upset yesterday. I'm just heartbroken for those poor people who lost everything right here at Christmas, especially. Anytime is terrible, though. The nursing home story was the one that tore me up. The staff put all of the residents in one hallway and when the pillows they were holding blew away, they (the staff) actually threw their own bodies on top of the residents. I'm tearing up just typing this.
Having lived most of my life in Iowa, tornadoes were a real part of our lives. Basements were necessities. But I much prefer the hurricanes now because of all of the advance warning.Out of all the natural disasters, tornadoes scare me the most. We get hurricanes and blizzards on the East Coast but that has so much warning and time to prepare.
