TGIF - August 6

clarabear

always chatty at the O!!
So, bright and early Friday morning and I am awake and should be asleep but am awake. Ugh!! I am just antsy I guess. I am so out of the loop with everybody and I hate it! Oh how I hate it. I just want to say that. The Daily Os generally keep me sane but everything is so all over the place and doesn't look like that will be changing anytime soon, but that being said, because of them I will be able to stay sane for other reasons, which in a minute I'll explain...guess what I think I feel some ramblings coming on. LOL!! I know you have all missed them so!! :eyebrows:

Anyway, tomorrow begins our final leg of our trip to NC. I think we are going to take 2 days to get there because we are going to be pulling my FIL camper which it seems is going to be our temporary home for a bit. The 3 week waiting list for housing is going to be more like 8 weeks and so we don't want to move twice so we'll just stay in the camper until we get housing. We talked about just finding a place but costwise it just makes more sense for us to live in military housing. We'll get more for our money and we won't have to pay utilities, etc and since we will be losing money renting our house it just makes more sense. So, that is the plan for now. It may be a crazy claustrophobic chaotic plan but we can make it work. My FIL's camper is pretty nice and decent sized so we'll be okay. Plus everything we have right now fits into our SUV so it isn't like we have too much stuff. It will make our stuff that much more appreciated when we finally get it. Plus when I start homeschooling Ethan I can be one of those crazy homeschooling backwoods types. It'll be cool. Haha!! Before you know it I'll start putting pics of Ethan that look like this: :mullet: He'll fit right in. AND...I got my gazing ball. I just need to get a stand for it. So, I think I must find that stand asap and put it up in the camp ground. We actually called the campground today and it is only $15 a day for full hookup. You can't beat that. I'm not going to like the bugs much and am going to have to find a way to keep them away. Any suggestions on that would be greatly appreciated. I am not looking forward to the cockroaches and mosquito bugs the size of my hand. I think I shall just invest in full-body mosquito netting. Ugh!!

Anyway, i do have some really cool stuff coming up...I had really hoped to be able to meet up with sally and Linda. Not sure if that is happening or not but if they were doing that I wanted to do it. But thanks to a bout of the flu  yesterday there was just no way but it is okay because I finally after months of looking and talking about it, I finally made my reservations to hang out with our very own Nana and her family at Myrtle Beach on Sunday through Wednesday with my kids. Derek has to start signing in and getting ready for work and all that yuck so he can't come. Lame!! But we're gonna play. Ethan is excited because we left right after going to the Oregon Coast and now we get to go to the beach on the East Coast. So, that is a cool thing for him. Once I get back I get to meet up with miss Andrea aka mrsaboyer. Her husband is also stationed at Ft. Bragg. So she can help me get situated there some. Which like I was saying earlier...The Daily O's have saved my butt through this time even if I'm not able to stop in everyday like usual. I think about you guys all the time still. I was so jealous about the lunch today. I was just outside the window of closeness. ugh!! Hate that!! I sure hope you guys had a blast and hope we get to hear all about it.

Anyway, it is now 4:00AM so I should probably wrap it up and say good morning/nite to you all. I just wanted to write and say how I was doing. I've been posting on FB with little tidbits and stuff and trying to post my pics on FB when I can. I've done and seen some pretty awesome stuff over the past few weeks. Wyoming was an amazing state to see. I loved going to Amish country. I learned so much about them. They are an amazing people and I got some really cool pics. Oh, I also got this really cool SD card called an Eye-fi card so all of pics load onto flickr on occasion, when I have wi-fi that the card likes. so check it out: clara.riggle.

I hope everyone is doing fabulously and I hope I am not too cranky when I do wake up in a few hours.

morning all - I am glad it is friday- Clara- loved the ramblings- hang in there!

I'm trying to get stuff done- not really I am procrastinating which is adding to my pressure- yikes! Staying late at work tonight, they are shutting down the program I use sat afternoon so i want to do as much as I can today, really need to focus and haven't been able to. Had to cancel dance lessons for tomorrow as the downstairs where the treadmill is dish box must have fried in the lightening the other night and we want to get it replaced before we go on vacation. I am upgrading so that when we can afford it, we will be able to put a flat screen HD tv down here. Well, better finish my tasks and get ready for work!

Clara Ramblings have returned! :high5:

Missed you so much too baby-doll!!!! It is always a great thing to wake up and see a good long catch-up post from ya. I am sorry that you are still feeling so stressed. But I have to say, if I were in your shoes I would have gone :boom: a long time ago.

Sally and I had an amazing time at lunch yesterday (I have a few pics and I'll post them as soon as I can). We have all said it before but it is 100% spot on- how close we are here. We really are family, whether we see each other every day or never. It just doesn't matter, ya know?

I love your description of Ethan:mullet: watch out that you don't drive too close to NJ and me or he might end up looking like :hippie::rofl:

Laurie-- hope you get everything done that you need too. Can't believe that you had more stuff fried by lightning. Heh- too bad you aren't a  you'd think I said Ride the Lightning- as in Metallica!

Anyway- I am running late- I am not sleeping even though I am super exhausted. I have to get to MIL's to work today. I really really need a day to stay home and get stuff done!

xoxoxo to all of you! Muah!!!!

That's funny. What's really funny is that my mom and sister explain me as a Hippie with a stick up her butt. Go figure. Oh, and you wouldn't have gone crazy, you would have done exactly what I have done and gone with the flow waiting until it comes together in the end and then once it does, if it does you may or may not have a little melt down fest, or a random melt down or two in the interim...or have a mom and sister who force you to run away on a rare occasion. I have a crazy feeling your mom isn't far off from mine. NJ isn't too far from NC and I will make there before we leave, of that I am sure.

Laurie - sounds lik eyou've got a lot on your plate for the next little bit but have a plan. those system conversions are always pita!! good luck. i hope it comes together. okay, off to wash the booty and finish packing.

hey y'all! I wish I could post these long rambling posts like some of you (*cough, clara, cough* ;)) or even just the multi-responses like chris, I'm just not that great at actually putting words to screen. Oh well, I guess I'll just stick with my strengths and stick to putting pictures on the screen (not that I'm actually designing anything right now lol)

anyway... guess that was a little bit of ramble, thanks for the inspiration clara :)

i dont really have anything going on today but wanted drop by for a drive by :)

We just love to hear from you Vicki!! Love ya lady!! You just got me on a good day. Haha!!

So today, nothing is going right so I had this brilliant idea to take not 1 but 2 zanax which means I can't drive anywhere. so i am finally not freaking out which is good since until about an hour ago I was in tears about almost everything, the least of which being the $400 on tires for the tires for the camper the the FIL gave us ZERO warning about. But 2 zanax means no driving and I want to get out of the house while the hubby and FIL are not getting us out of the house and on the road at 3:00 in the afternoon...3 hours after I had planned to be on the road. Ugh!!!!!!!! Anyway, I want some icecream and can't go anywhere. Driving would be bad. So you get to hear from me extra today. Yay you. Drug induced ramblings always seem to benefit you guys. you don't hear from me for days on end and then here I am all over the place. Alright, I am going to try and get motivated or something. I had horrible dreams last night. I woke up last night literally thinking I was in the middle of an earthquake. Stress is the worst on sleep and dreams. I am so ready to be on the road. I think I am going to be stuck in this house until the end of time. Okay, off to try and do something.

LOL, I'm with Vicki, I just don't have time to write the long, catchup rambles. However, I sure like to read them. hehe

Clara, I'm tired reading your posts. I hope that things turn around for you. Here is a yummy virtual ice cream!!!

Hi Vicki, Chris and Laurie!

Clara ((hugs)) Ugh you too!!! I was supposed to meet Sally & Chris yesterday I woke up sooooo sick!! I feel like I have the flu :( I was sooooooooooooo disappointed!
I am so glad though that you have a lot of fab meet ups scheduled!!! Have fun!!!

I'll tell you what Kat...I'll make you a promise. On that day t hat I do meet up with Chris we will will grab you too. Being on the East coast I am going to make that happen one way or another. One of Ethan's requests is WaDC so we will be headed up north at some point so we'll get that direction at some point. I can learn a souther accent and pretend to be Sally for a minute. :)

Hey girlies!!!

Omgosh! I had sooo much fun with Chris, Cait and Chris' mom yesterday!! It was sooo fabulous! I agree with everything she said...we are such fam!!

So this morning I got a call from NanaLinda making sure we were leaving at the same time. So fun!! Then a bit later, she called as we were both driving and unfortunately, her daughter, Traci was in a car accident with the kiddos this morning. The kids were fine, but Traci broke her shoulder bone. So we both turned around and got back with our families. I was so sad to miss her, but more worried for her daughter (she didn't know how bad it was when she called at first, but texted me later! ohhh technology is amazing, huh?).

So I caught Mr Gorgeous and his uncle and aunt before they went siteseeing and I joined them. We went to Woodlawn, the plantation that George Washington gave to Martha's granddaughter and his nephew. It was awesome! I love good docents. We also saw a Frank Lloyd Wright house and Washington's Grist Mill. Now we are just enjoying the wonderful hospitality of Mr Gorgeous' fam!!

We are flying home tomorrow afternoon and then it's back to work!! I have to plan our school year, get all of my projects together, basically organize my whole life!! yikes!!! LOL!! So we are going to enjoy this last bit of vacation...*sigh* life passes by too fast!!

Clara, you just hang on, hun!! You know you have to move to San Antonio soon, so don't get too settled in that NC area!! And it still cracks me up about my "lack" of a southern accent!! LOL!! you can pretend to be me with a Minnesota accent. (btw, i'm practicing my texas accent!!) And you will love Chris's Jersey accent...it's my fave!! :)

Hugs to everyone!!! I think i'm going to do a bit of designing while I've got a bit of time here tonight!

love you all!!!!

So funny. I never considered that one. LOL!! Now I have to put that in my imaginary version of her. LOL!!

What a day!!! Yes....it started out so well too!! We were about 25 minutes up the road, and I got a phone call from county emergency services saying that Traci and the kids had been in an accident and been taken to the hospital....they had no more info to give me....talk about frantic!!! Thank goodness my Mom was with me....I usually and pretty good in a crisis...but NOT KNOWING IS AWEFUL!!! So I burnt up the phone the whole way back trying to find out something....I had to get Sharon to meet me to pick up Cameran and Savannah....and my poor Mom...she hung in there with at the hospital for almost 5 hours....I had to make her leave.....Jesse and Jaiden were scared senseless when I got there!! They checked out okay...the carseats did their job!!! Thank goodness....but Traci was pretty banged up....she was in the front passenger side of the car...the car was sideswiped from the drivers side, and the girl driving swerved into a bank..hitting right on Traci's door...she did not have her seatbelt on. They said her shoulder was broken...but after all the exrays...they say it's cracked...The Dr implied that due to her being so tiny and thin....caused this to more vulnerable (???) how silly does that sound?? She has a lot of cuts on her too....but thank goodness it was not any worse....I am so thankful!! She wanted to go to my Mother's house, so we settled her in there....they are insisting I don't cancel vacation. My motherly instincts say I should not leave!! I will see how things are in the morning!! The girl driving the car was okay....I did not go to check on her, because I really had my hands full with the kids and Traci...but I did ask about her....They said minor bruising (mostly from the seatbelt).

Oh what a day.....

Oh my...lots in the Daily O's today! First, Nana Linda...so glad that everyone is ok! But sorry that you missed your chance to meet Sally.

And Chris and Sally, I know that you had a fabulous time. How neat that Sally got to meet Chris' mom.

And Kat, sorry that you missed your chance yesterday as well. Hope that you feel better.

Trudy, goodbyes are always hard...but I know that you'll have lots of scrapping to do.

Vicki, nice to have you drop in.

And now Clara...((hugs)) to you. You'll make it. You know that you are in His hands...just rest in that comfort!

Not alot going on here. Went to the soccer store tonight...got uniforms and balls and shin guards. Oh my...

The Dr implied that due to her being so tiny and thin....caused this to more vulnerable (???) how silly does that sound?? ..

Actually from your description- sounds correct- impact was too her shoulder and went into the collarbone (clavicle) and it could not stand the pressure and cracked- very common in little kids too! Hope she is doing well and you can enjoy your vacation!
