What sad news to hear that Queen of England has passed away today at the age of 96. A very sad day for all British subjects and the entire world. I was a huge fan, she was such an amazing woman.
@Cherylndesigns It certainly is the end of an era! To think that she became Queen at such a young age! What a burden was bestowed on her!I was watching when they announced her death. It's the end of an era, for sure. What a life Queen Elizabeth led. Very sad.
@scrap-genie - Well she was the only Monarch that I knew in my life time! I can't imagine becoming Queen like that so unexpectedly! For most of the world she was the only British monarch they ever knew. She was a steady influence. I remember as a child reading a story about her and her sister and the changes in their lives when their father unexpectedly became king.
Yes @tanteva it is hard to imagine that Winston Churchill and her actually were very good friends!Just think about this: her first prime minister was Winston Churchill! It sure is the end of an era.
@pachimac - There were tears here at our house too! I admired her so much!I actually shed a few tears when I heard this. Such a great lady. I hope King Charles can be 1/4 of the monarch that she was.
Yes @timounette the world may never be the same without her!A page of History is turned tonight. Sad news but she had have a wonderful life.

Yes, he will never be able to fill his Mother's shoes, but lets hope he is a good King!!Have shed a few tears here as well, the Queen was such an amazing person, I loved her! Elizabeth became queen the year I was born so she has been a constant all my whole life. Charles really has his work cut out for him, following in her footsteps.
Yes it does seem that many are not big fans of Royalty anymore. I grew up in a very English family, so I have always loved the Royal family. The Queen was an amazing woman! I don't think that the Royals will ever fill her shoes again.I live in the Netherlands and we have a royal family too. Honestly I don't care much for it. I don't know, it just doesn't feel a Queen or King isn't from " this time" anymore.
Queen Elisabeth though, she was something else. A queen for 70 years, she was important for Brittain. She was such a great example of a beautiful, strong en warm woman. She made mistakes, sure. But in the end she listend to the people, and the people were always her top priority. She will be missed, even by me. It's like with her death, all royalty has gone for good.
me tooI actually shed a few tears when I heard this. Such a great lady. I hope King Charles can be 1/4 of the monarch that she was.
