goodness they are quick, I'm only just finding out what colours are " in" for the autumn/winter
I usually want something in a colour that's not available because it's not fashionable according to " them".
I was wondering that too Vicki?? And really...isn't every color represented? I just don't get it. I mean they are cool colors and all that I just don't understand. I'm fashion stupid!! I'm not quite as regimented as Vicki...but not far off.
It's funny, I couldn't care less when it comes to fashion, but I do follow them when it comes to graphic design, which does follow fashion to some degree. So it's good to know.
Jacqueline I quite understand where you're coming from. It's all about taking a fresh look at things - doing it differently - trying to capture attention and keep it interesting.
Interesting thing colour. First time I ever took it seriously was after seeing one of Van Gogh's works - Vincent's Chair with His Pipe. I stood in front of it and was absolutely hypnotised. Kept going back to it. The way colour was used in that painting was a revelation to me.
how can they predict from this what colour will be in? it's them that dictates what's in .You cannot get what you want, be it for fashion or interior design .
I don't care what it is as long as it's emerald or jade or coppery.LOL
I just shudder at the thought of thousands of people chucking out their 2 year old kitchen because the powers to be have decided that duck egg is the flavour of the year; follow the leader :sheep1
yes, colours and the use of them are fascinating. I can stare in wonder and awe at a rainbow for ages and you're so right Tamsin how some painters used and mixed paint to get just the hue they want is mind boggling.
J - can you imagine the color war room? I'll bet it looked like skittles threw up in there. It def takes a special eye. I'd be like...so you want to know if I prefer red or red? Uhhhh???
It's usually all the same colors, just coming back in and out of style. I watch my kiddos at school and 80's neon colors are back "in". So is 80's' style. (Why...I'm not sure...I'm dreading a resurgence of shoulder pads.)
But colors cycle back in, just like everything else!!!
