:dancingelephant: Welcome to 2025!!
:dancingelephant:

If you are a regular here, I think y'all know by now that I love art journaling. If you're new here, then welcome to Oscraps and the Artsy/Mixed Media challenge. This is one of my absolute favorite challenges to host.

We are starting the year out with a fairly easy challenge. No since making things hard right off the bat. For this month's page, I want you to create a page about 2025 and use at least three different types of artsy goodies on the page.. (Not sure what counts, I put a whole list of artsy goodies in the Rules section. You can find great artsy products in the Art Journaling and Photoshop Tools sections of the Oscraps store.)

This doesn't have to be a resolutions page although it definitely can be. This can be a page about your feelings about the new year. Happy? Scared? Worried? Create an art journaling page to express those feelings? Want to celebrate (or bemoan) a special birthday? Do it with art journaling. Maybe you have an exciting vacation planned. Create an artsy page about your excitement. This is about your 2025, so you get to decide the subject matter for you page. Just make sure your page is covered in artsy goodness. One little dab of paint will not due. It's time to get messy. goofysmile1

Here's my page.

Artsy mediums include stamps (the numbers and newspaper text), gesso, overlays, paint (border) and glitter. I also used an artsy background to increase messiness.

I look forward to seeing y'all's creations!
RULES:
- Create an artsy/mixed media page about 2025 using at least three types of painterly mediums. Your page should be covered in artsy goodies such as paint, stamps, brushes, glitter, gesso, markers, scribbles, textures, overlays, etc.
- Please use 80% Oscraps products that are currently in the store.
- Non-Oscraps products or retired O designer products can be used whether the designer is selling elsewhere or not.
- You need to credit all the products used on your layout.
- You need to credit the source of any photo(s) as per updated Gallery Guidelines
- Your layout can not be used for more than one challenge.
- Your page must be posted in the Challenge 5 gallery by midnight PST 31 January 2025 and linked back to this thread (see below on how to add your linked layout).
- And do not forget to update the CURRENT MONTH'S TRACKING THREAD to be eligible for your coupon.

Adding a linked layout from the Gallery to a thread:
1. Upload your layout to the gallery first. In your forum post click the Gallery Embed icon (little camera).
2. This will open your gallery, simply click on the layout you require, then scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click the Continue button.
3. Your linked layout is now in your post, the image will appear once you have clicked the Post Reply button.

Thank you Cindy for hosting Challenge 5 - Artsy Media - These art layouts really take me out of my comfort zone, but I did have some fun - To be honest I can't really list any specific kit, I can say - it was all Vicki Stegalls Kits, but I just grabbed bits and pieces and just played and blended till I got what I thought was a good idea at the time - Fonts - Erazer - Abril Fat Face - Lancelot - Arial

Thanks for the challenge, Cindy! I hope you can tell the grunge from my original paper, because Jen's papers are famous for the grunge. Then I didn't want to overdo it. :giggle4: I used glitter, stitches, a paper overlay, and some of Rachel's paint. The wordart is all about the epic uncertainty in store for 2025. And I managed to look out all the way to the beginning of March in my journaling. ;)

This took forever, but only because I couldn't figure out what I wanted to say about this year. By all rights I should be horrified, terrified, furious ... and I am, but those are all background feelings right now. So far I'm just looking forward to the year, which, frankly, I would not have expected even a month ago, but here we are.

At any rate, this was good, challenging fun.

As well as being mixed media, my layout is also an art journal page expressing how I'm worn down by all the dismal news in our country and my uncertainty for what the future holds. Thanks for the challenge!
