So, in a CT forum Miss Yvon mentioned something about not being able to buy Lifesavers in The Netherlands. We had talked previously about her sending me these amazing cookies they have their that Derek and I both fell in love with when we visited Holland. I keep forgetting what they are called...stroop-something or other. Anyway we soon came up with a great plan to trade. I just sent my package off today and I can't wait to hear that she got it.

I just wanted to share how cool it is to be part of an international community.
 
What a great story, Clara. I've made so many friends in the digital scrapbooking world, but things became so much more real when I started to meet up with Lorraine aka neat freak a couple of years back. Then Sue F. joined our get togethers and we now have a regular 2-3 times a year girlie lunch. We call ourselves the London branch of Oscraps!

In fact, we're meeting up THIS WEEK! I can't wait :tea:
 
LOL And I'm soo hyper-excited allready! The package probably didn't even left your country. But hey... Got to look forward to something right??

I'm planning on buying my last thing tomorrow. And go to the postoffice thursday. Maybe, if it's not to warm wednesday in the greenhouse, I'll go to the postoffice after work.
My girls are working hard on some drawings. Imke said to me that I can add her drawings, because (I quote her): Than you friend from the other country can see how the kids can draw in our country LOL
 
Selena, That sounds like a lot of fun!!! You should take pictures!! (Or maybe you allready did one time, and I missed them?)

One day when I make my way to England one of those gatherings will have to include me. :) In 3 years I'll be in Ireland so that isn't too far...I think. Haha!! I know how far things are in Italy, Austria and Germany but not so much in the rest of Europe. LOL
 
oh we have a vacation this week but we are not going anywhere!

What is a Lifesaver?
 
Lifesavers are a round hard candy that are either fruit flavored or minty. They used to sell them in rolls but now they sell them individually wrapped in bags.

I could get you guys some awesome Omaha Steaks. Though - I might need more than Tim-Tams and Kit-Kats to cover the cost of sending top quality steaks overseas. LOL
 
Sara... you don't have to get Tim Tams from Aussieland we also have them here in Canada. Don't think it would be a good trade for Omaha Steaks though LOL!
 
OK, so I'm rather lost in translation here - the only product I actually recognise is a lifesaver - ie: the hunky bloke that pulls you out of the sea when you get out in trouble.

And yes, we tend to only stock the Australian variety because the job is so badly paid that no British kid would do it.

as for the lifesavers < i don't think they have them here, at least not the human sort , they'd have to have a conference first to see if it's included in their job description and check their health and safety guidelines and then decide they cannot do it and have an inquiry afterwards . oops I'll get off my soapbox.

yes this international community is great , I always get people to include dropjes ( liquorice) when they send me a craft parcel.

Sue, the first thing I thought of when you mentioned another London meet was shoes :p

Ellen, do you really like dropjes? I don't like them, most of the dutch people tell me that I'm not a reall dutch girl if I don't like dropjes LOL
