How do you pronounce your name?

Hi everyone! I don't know if Im posting at the right forum so feel free to move it somewhere... :)
I was looking through the forums and galleries here at Oscraps and suddenly it just occured to me that so many of those usernames i can't even pronounce! Haha!
So, can I ask a favor and maybe you can give me (or the whole Oscraps family) the right way to pronounce your name? I hope this is not a dumb question. hihi!

Great question - I often wonder the same thing! Actually I don't think mine really can be pronounced completely as just one word....when I first started signing up for user names I kept it how I had my email...which is my husband & myself's first initials & then our last name D-L-HOFFER (hoe-fur)

I've thought about changing so it's are more personal to "me" but then was afraid I would have different user names at different sites which would be hard for me to remember what was where LOL....what do you think girls, should I change to something more individual to me???

Well I think my username wombat146 is pretty straightforward (its actually the name and number of my house address) and my real name is Ona pronounced O-na as in Fiona without the Fi at the beginning! Ona is Lithuanian and means Ann or Anna in English! My Dad was Lithuanian and my Mum was Latvian and I am first generation Aussie! xx
 
Yam - like the sweet potato except with a softer "a"........:p...and it's my real name, that means in Hebrew : "SEA"
 
I think everyone can say my username...but there are a few people who have trouble with my real name. It is pronounced Care-uh, not Car-uh. So of course one of my nicknames growing up was Kare-bear. :)
 
Fun thread! My username is just my name, but with the annoying underscores added. ;)

Tali - rhymes with Sally. :)
 
ooooh cool thread shaui! mine is my nickname. since my middle name is elaine, my dad always calls me lainer and lainebean. pronounced laynebeeeeen LOL :)
 
I always thought mine was fairly straight forward until someone asked on another site.

It's M'Lee and it's pronounced muh-lee
 
I'm not overly happy with my username because of this reason.. it's hard to pronounce. One of those "think of something unique quickly" kind of things, and it just stuck.. now I use it everywhere, so I guess there's no changing it. :roll:

it's the first part of my kids names.

Ja - Jaxson
ka - Karter
jer - Jersey

Guess that means I shouldn't have any more children.. would throw a wrench into the whole thing! :D :D :mrgreen: hee hee
 
Both my name and user name are pretty straight forward. Clara (I am really big about always pronouncing the "a" at the end.) And clarabear is clara-bear

you can call me Frieda if you want...i tell my kids that, too :)
 
You should hear the telemarketers pronounce my name! :) LOL Funny...I never thought it was a tough one...but it's pronounced fee-bee. :)
 
Great idea, Shaui, and I had your name right! YESSSSSSSSS.

I doubt any of you have ever had trouble with my name but it's just Som, rhymes with Tom. No special way to say it, although over the phone, when I say Som, people ask for the spelling. Funny thing is, I live in Minnesota, but lived in Charlotte for a few years. Depending upon where you live, I guess the pronunciation is a little different because of the accent. "Don't cha know?" LOL :D

he he what a good idea! My username is a nickname for Sarah (my real name) and is pronounced SAIR (like chair) - SKA (like car) - DARE (yeah). I don't know where that comes from, because my mum called me Fanny growing up.

Real name is easy- Chris
faerywings -- pretty easy too

My maiden name is Iantosca- people tripped over that all of the time. It looks was trickier than it is- sounds just like it is spelled. eye-an-tos-cah
I get married- last name is Campbell- like the soup (no relation tho, darnit!)
You should hear some of telemarketers screw that up- the funniest was Camp-uh-bell.
I can see Camp-bell... but Camp-uh-bell??
 
My user name is easy, Cat, as in pussy cat :lol:

My real name is harder Catriona, Ca-tree-o-na, most people try and pronunce it Katrina (ca-tree-na) and I purposley do not answer to that, even if telemarketers call asking to speak to Katrina XXXXX I tell them no-one of that name lives here ;)

Cat - I do the same thing. Both my first name, maiden name, and married last name, are all hard to pronounce. It is very easy to pick out junk calls at our house. :)

I get Cally, Sally, Terry, Holly, Hally. I get mail all the time that says Tari. NOt to mention that our last name is 2 words so many people assume the first part is a middle name. lol :D
 
I'm just Karah, like the other Karah. care-uh. Not car-uh. My maiden name was IMPOSSIBLE for people to pronounce. So marrying into Fredricks made things a little bit easier. HAHAHA
 
I have been pronouncing so many of your names wrong in my head! Love this thread!

My username is so boring. lol

My first name is pretty obvious ("kris" and "tin" like tin can). Aagard is pronounced with a long "A" like "neighbor" or "way" and "gard" is pronounced like "guard." :)
 
My first name is Lia... it pronounces just like "Leah".
My last name is Lotito and it pronounces simple as LO-TI-TO, but people have a lot difficult to write it, I don't know why...

LOL! I never really pulled apart your name and I called you Lia Lolita! Go girl!:cool:
 
My user name is pretty straightforward thought it was catchy and true, I will be taxed4ever!

My last name is Towle no one ever says it right.. pronouced "toll", but I usually get Toolie, or Towel or Mrs. Tool. yikes should have kept my maiden name.
