I’m curious….. are you a klutz??? Or are you Uber coordinated?

I ask because I need to lose some weight and I don’t want to sacrifice what little time I have for creating….. so what did I do…. I purchased and under the desk treadmill.

Just in case you automatically started laughing, no I have not been thrown from the machine yet…. And I do say “yet” as I’m sure it’s going to happen. The dog completely avoids me when I’m on it, so I know he is expecting it too.

I discovered that walking and typing is actually easy. Navigating the mouse on the other hand…. It’s down right comical. Forget talking, walking, and typing. Do NOT have that much coordination.

So…. How coordinated are you?

Well ............ I sorta had a reputation for falling over at one stage! lol! On one occasion, I was away with work at a place called Port Macquarie. One of my young trainers, Ursula, lived there, and she and her boyfriend lived on a yacht, moored down at the Port. We arranged to meet for drinks and then dinner at a restaurant on the waterfront, near their yacht. When I arrived they both wanted me to come and have a look at their home! So we walked down the jetty, and we climbed on board......... I followed their lead and stepped off the jetty onto the back part of the boat......... and promptly proceeded to skid across the smooth surface!

They were ahead of me, Ursula turned around when she heard me call out and I saw the look of horror on her face as I was skidding towards the edge of the boat. Somehow my brain wasn't working, all I was worried about was that my handbag would get submerged in the water so I somehow was able to throw my handbag at her, then somehow I was able to grab the top wire of the guardrail around the boat, to save myself from going over, her boyfriend rushed over to grab the back of my shirt so I didn't topple over! Once I landed on my bum on the deck I just sat there looking at them with a 'WTF' happened look on my face.......... I think we all stood there frozen for a bit, then we all just cracked up laughing like loons!!! lol!! Ursh couldn't get over the fact that I threw her my handbag!! hahaaa!!! And talk about sore!!! I had a gigantic bruise just under my left armpit where I grabbed the wire as I hit it so hard! hahahhaaaa!!!!

When Ursula left the company she gave me a goodbye gift and addressed the gift card to "the woman that always fell over"! :) The gift was a lovely little wooden jewelry box in the shape of a treasure chest, like you would see at the bottom of the ocean!! hahahaaa!!! Every time I see it I think of Ursh and that particular incident!! lol!

So, no Esther, I don't think I would be very safe on a treadmill trying to do something else at the same time!!! hahhaaaa!!!

Totally uncoordinated. I can trip over thin air. I also have really poor balance. I was never very good at ice skating or roller skating as a kid. I tried skiing once and said never again.

I am terminally 'unco'. Attempts at skiiing and ice skating when younger were comically traumatising. I don't drive for that very reason. I am sure that attempting a treadmill while operating a mouse would end badly! I do, however, dance for fitness :)

You people crack me up! Too bad you can't just talk to the computer and tell it what to do.

I used to be very coordinated and played a few well chosen sports like tennis and biking. Skating and skiing were okay as well but I steer clear of swimming. I remember my daughter, an elite sychro swimmer, tried to teach me how to swim and had me use a kick board to get my leg kick correct. Well folks, I ended up going backwards! I could not for the life of me get that forward thrust.

Not so coordinated anymore. I use hiking poles to keep me upright and steady when I go for my daily walk . And no pools are in my future.

I'm not uncoordinated at all - that being said, I did have an accident with my desk chair pad - it was askew and I sat on the part that wasn't on the chair. Ended up breaking my collar bone. After that happened, I got a "real" office desk chair!

I have a treadmill that I walk on at least once a day, but I can't walk and type at the same time, so no under-the-desk treadmill for me. I have a shelf for a tablet/phone on my treadmill, but I can't do much more while I'm walking, than voice text.

I’m glad to read about the lack of coordination here. I don’t think a treadmill desk set up will end well for me. I played sports & lived Which is surprising. Lol. I am a cyclist & I could list a tonne of near death situations I’ve been in. Some are just simple falls onto your knees from falling off your bike which is not good when the first thought through your mind is “my arthritis“. My most graceful & public fall was when I was in a small village in Bali. I went there with my husband & brother, famous wreck dive, maybe someone knows where I mean. The scuba shop was in an old temple, I think, & made in stone. I was wet, the stone was wet, the stairs going into the old structure was wet. I made a step in the wrong direction, slipped, rolled down the stairs, which were long & stood up. I swear, the whole village of people came out to see, plus every other diver visiting…. It’s a small place & bit off the track, usually attracts people who want to dive. My husband said it was a graceful roll. My poor brother thought I may have done serious harm but everything somehow worked out. So I’m known for falling but somehow safely. Except for the last time, of course. I was in a nuclear imaging centre. I tripped on my maxi skirt & fell over, thankfully I was in the right place to get an x-ray straight away. Couldn’t walk for 3 months. I donated the maxi skirt… I though you may feel better about yourselves if you haven’t become a show for a village or have a clothing related fall that caused more damage than any bike accident or falling down stairs.

I am the epitome of not being able to walk and chew gum at the same time.
100% uncoordinated. No sense of balance. Nada, zilch, and zip!

I'm very uncoordinated when I'm distracted or not paying attention to what I'm doing. I will walk into walls, trip over things, etc. If I'm paying attention, I can actually manage to walk straight :) I've started walking along the curbs like a balance beam when I take my walks. It's helping my balance tremendously!

I had to really laugh out loud at this one, it was a curb that actually caused me to trip face first onto the street on one of my falls!!! hahahahaaaa!!! Standing there, minding my own business, went to move my foot just an inch to start stepping down after a car went pass and wham! hahahhaaaa!!! That one hurt but I got up and pretended I was fine!! hahhaaaa!!!!
