Has anyone ever frozen a streudel type dessert?

Here's the thing - if this was something that was just ANY dessert, I'd chuck it but my sister in law made this "grahamcrackeryraspberryjellythingy" for us that is to die for. It's almost like a bar type dessert - it's pretty flat and has 3 layers and the top has all those crumbly crumb cake looking things on it.

She sent one over on Monday and I jokingly said to my brother in law that it would be a sad day in our house when it was finished because it was so good. Well, 2 days later she sent another one over but I'm the only one eating it! It IS to die for but I can't eat both of these by myself.

(yes, I can bring it to a friends house but I secretly don't want to - it's THAT good!!)

So I'm thinking maybe I can freeze it somehow? It probably wont freeze that well but heck it's just sooo good and I don't know if she would give up the recipe. Not that she isn't a recipe giver but she's the kind of person that would make you another one because she is sweet.

So you think this is something that can be freezed? I do have one of those food saver machines I can use but I just dont know how these dessert type dishes freeze..

any ideas? If I ever get the recipe I promise I will share it!

Or just try a littlebit to freeze it.. So you know if it works. And if it doesn't work, than it's just a littlebit that you have to throw away!

I agree with Nana on this, I think almost everything can be frozen.
Cupcakes can be frozen as well.. I do that lots of times! LOL Not that cupcakes are the same as the desert you describe..

always chatty at the O!!
Totally use the food saver then it won't get freezer burn. Also, I would cut it into sections and freeze it in 1-2 serving portions.

I think it would freeze well too. We have a food saver. The stuff you really have to watch out for is the stuff that has a high water content. That stuff doesn't freeze well...technically, it doesn't thaw well.

I would set it in the freezer for a day or so first to let it get hard, then vacuum seal it!

I think that it will freeze fine...but, if not, I think you may have a lot of friends here who are willing to help you out. :)

OK I'm doing it!!! Thanks for everyone's input - I wasn't sure if it would work then a lightbulb went on when Sara just said it doesn't THAW well (that would explain some of my not so successful freezes!!).

OK, going to get John to do the food saver on it and meanwhile see if I can get my hands on the recipe so I can share with everyone.

pshaw - no way i'd freeze that! I'd kick the boys out of the house, grab a fork and a chick flick and sit my behind down on the couch and E N J O Y ! (which is probably why I need to lose a bit lol)
