Good Update on Ava! Post #79

Thank you ALL so much, my dear friends, for your prayers, love, hugs and support! Ava saw the OB Oncologist today. He looked at all of the ultrasounds and the "mass" has not grown even the tiniest of cm's which is what he was looking for.

SO, "good news" so far: After lots of tests, the doctor gave Ava two options. Option 1: remove the mass right away, by laparoscopy, or Option 2: Since "Peanut" is very healthy and growing, he said Ava could wait until the birth (NOT wait until 24 weeks), give birth normally, then they would let her recover a bit, and go in the surgically remove it. I will keep all of you updated as we go along. Thank you all SO much!!

The oncologist is also sending a perinatal specialist to us, to check her progress. No more trips to Tulsa in the immediate future.

So, that's my update for now and we're feeling extremely optimistic about it.

Oh, that is so good to read and seems the best-case scenario at this point. I was very happy to read this this morning, thanks for the update. :heartpumppink:

So happy for you.

Thank you ALL, for your love and support of Ava and Peanut. I have another GOOD update for you. Ava's OB/Oncologist is very happy with the progress and there has been NO changes in the mass on her ovary. Peanut is growing and is very active and everything looks to be going along as normally as possible. The doctor also believes that she'll be able to carry Peanut to term, than they'll address the "mass" after the birth. He doesn't even predict that she'll need a C-Section.

She just went for her visit and a NEW ultrasound yesterday and here it is - presenting Peanut - looking mighty sweet, cute and very active. The "Gender Reveal" party is on February 1st, so I can't wait to share that with all of you. P.S. Ava is now 16 weeks along.

Peanut is looking good..so happy for everyone. I hope it is a fun reveal party.
When DD was pregnant with Kirsten they called her Bob because they were sure it was going to be a boy cause that is all hubby family had....surprise it was a girl!!! My kids never found out that they were having so we always had months of waiting for the surprise.
