Oscraps

Galleries, Galleries, Galleries?

So, I have a newbie scrapper question for y'all.

I love the O gallery - seriously. I've posted in a couple others now and this seems to be the most active and encouraging, but I want to respect the gallery and not post my non-O layouts there. Mostly, I'd be fine with just posting O stuff here and my other layouts in the galleries for their respective stores.

BUT, I know that I would really like to join a CT someday and I know that most of the calls I've seen ask for your most complete gallery. I was posting layouts to My Scrapbook Art, but it's a bit of extra work and I realized that I can batch upload to Flickr from Adobe Bridge. I was also posting them there so my mom could see my pages.

My question is: In the future, if I wan to join a CT, would it reflect poorly on my if I keep my "complete" gallery at Flickr? What do you guys do about this?

I'm not really sure I like My Scrapbook Art... It feels like this no man's land where everyone just drops layouts and runs. Just looking for some advice.

Hi Kim,
I totally agree about the MSA gallery. I'm doing the same, drop and leave

About your question, i have no clue what to answer. I've never used flickr. I'm sure there are other people that have an idea about this LOL

That is an interesting question. I do use Flickr, mostly as storage for my lo's, and as a launching place for Facebook. So, I suppose Flickr would be considered my most complete "gallery" in terms of number of lo's. But, when I've answered CT calls, I have always directed the designer to a shop gallery where I post, because I think the designer would want to see that I am using the products of the site where I'm posting. The designers probably are more interested in seeing all of your lo's, not just the ones related to a store, so I actually think your idea to use the Flickr "gallery" would be better for that.

lOve the O!
you can always post your own gallery at pintrest on a board or facebook if you do facebook- that way if (gasp)(Just kidding!) you use non O designers, you have all your layouts in one place.

I think it depends on the policies of each designer/site. Best bet is find that out before you move forward.

I use Photobucket for all my scrapbook layouts...there are over 600 pages in that very complete gallery there :)

I also direct designers to my blog...I write about every layout I do, so I can talk more about the process and inspiration.

I think if there is a match in style between what you are doing and what the designer is looking for, having the gallery be 'complete' is probably less important than having the pages be a good fit.

Just my 2 cents :)

Diane, that's a good point. I think I'll just stick with Flickr, then. And most of my stuff comes from here anyway, so I imagine this may end up being my most complete gallery anyway. :) It's all hypothetical at the moment, anyway.

I totally agree that it is much nicer to have all of your layouts in one place and aren't we lucky that our O mama runs such an easygoing ship ;when you read the new gallery guidelines here you see that you can still post your non Oscraps layouts in the gallery as long as you are an active member and don't use the gallery here as a dumping place.

The reason the O feels like a hOme to so many of us is because we do comment at other peoples layouts and we do take part in he challenges.
Together we make it what it is. Long may it continue :sheep1

As for your question about Flickr I've only posted say my Arches on there because I belonged to the Arches group. I've never looked into posting all my layouts there
