More good news, Marley came out of her crate at the vet's for the first time, wagged her tail a bit and ate a little food and drank some water. The next step is going to be a bone and colon biopsy. They think she might have a bad infection in her colon. We're just praying it isn't cancer.

I just showed my daughter all of your wonderful and heartfelt messages and she is almost in tears over it. She wants me tell you all thank you from the bottom of her heart. :grouphugyay::heartpumpred::heartpumpred::heartpumpred:

That's wonderful news, Cheryl! It must have been wonderful to hear about the tail wag. I am guessing they are giving her IV fluids and antibiotics? Will you guys get to visit her? Give her lots of love from us if you do. :loveangel:

If it is cancer (*knocks wood it is not*) check out mushroom extract as a supplement. I used New Chapter Reishi Mushroom extract for Harley. I swear it worked. (Along with adopting another dog but I can't rec that, you already have a bunch of them on the compound LOL!) I looked really quickly online and that brand doesn't have the liquid anymore but there might be another brand to give a try. I gave her either a dropper or a half dropper mixed with her food. Can't remember --but again, I am sure there's info to read up on it.

Yhanks so much, Chris. They're still running tests and they haven't ruled out cancer. That's great to know about the Mushroom extract - you KNOW I'm a huge believer in that kind of thing. It sure would be worth a try. I had a St. Francis of Assisi dog medal overnighted and it's supposed to be here today. When our Bailey had cancer, they told us to take him home and love him because there wasn't anything else they could do for him. I went and bought him one of those and put it on his collar and he lived for a year and half. Coincidence? I don't believe it was.

Thank you ALL for your Doggie Prayers, good and positive thoughts and vibes, but I have some news that I don't even want to think about much less write.

We got bad news last night. Marley does have cancer - it's in her bone marrow - I told you that they had done a lot of tests and some of them wouldn't be back for a few weeks. They said she did NOT have cancer, but now they say she does. We're all understandably devastated. I haven't been able to think of much else today. (I've buried myself with scrapping. They're going to Tulsa to pick her up and have a conference with the doctors there. What they're planning on doing is having her euthanized at home. There's an organization of vets called "Laps of Love" and they come to your home, when it's the arranged time, and put your pet to sleep in it's surroundings. They do everything - if you want your pet cremated, they take care of that. It's a pretty amazing thing - I read all about it online last night. SO, sadder days are coming. It will all depend on how well they can take care of Marley at home as to when they'll make the final call.

We have NO idea what to expect when she gets home or how difficult it's going to be to take care of her, but she's coming home. It might only be for a few days, or she might have some kind of miracle and have a decent quality of life for awhile. I wish I had good news and to say we're all heartbroken is an understatement. Again thank you ALL more than I can say and this comes from my DD and family, as well, for all of the love and support you've shown. :crying1: :sad2::sad1:

I'm so sorry that your family got this devastating news, Cheryl. It's almost unheard of for a dog as young as Marley to have cancer, but you can never say never. :sad2:

Laps of Love is a wonderful service, from everything I've heard. I hope that your family can find some peace.

Thank you so much, Angie. I'm praying that they can help ease this awful loss of a beloved pet especially one that just turned a year old. :beatingheart: :beatingheart: :beatingheart:

Thank you so much, Evelyn. I know the're only dogs, but they're such a big part of our lives - as are all of our pets. Thanks for the article - I will definitely read it. It's just so hard to understand why a pet that young has to be taken, but I guess that's just the way it goes. It's still so devastating. :grouphugyay::hug4:

Ohh C. I am sorry to hear this. We all hope for life to be long and good. But sometimes it is good and short. My DIL lost her 11 month old niece two years ago this next week to SIDS. Then she lost her dog of 13 years. Life- short and long, but precious and good. Maybe you can round up the photos of Marley and do a canvas print? Hugs, prayers and hope.

What sad news!
I have tears in my eyes and I'm so sorry!
The path you want to take now and let Marley sleep at home in peace when the time comes, I find the most worthy and best path that there will be for you.
I have done this with all my dogs and accompanied them at home in their final days, they are beloved family members after all
I hope you still have some time with Marley
I send you love and strength

Oh no, I am so sorry, my sweet Cheryl :sad2::hug1: :beatingheart: I know how painful all of this is...losing a beloved family "pet"...they are SO much more than a pet...they are our "chosen" babies that we love so much and they show us the same love back...I need to stop thinking about this because I am crying and I don't want to have even more vasculitis break out on me, but please know that I am SO very sorry for all of you guys....I know how devastating this is :brokenheart:
