always chatty at the O!!
Happy Monday!!

We have a fabulous designer in the spotlight. My favorite part of the spotlights is getting to know the designers on a more personal level. So what do you want to know about Renne? Ask away!! I'll start...

What's your favorite type of cake?
Where is your dream vacation destination?
And since I own a coffee stand...what is your gave coffee shop drink?

Oh boy! mama loves her some cake! My favorite is Chocolate with chocolate pudding in the inside. Chewy, gooey yum!

Dream vacation? that's a hard one because I love to travel- I just wish I could do it more! I am a big foodie- and would really enjoy one of those cooking vacations in Italy-., that would probably be when the boys are older though-

For now- my dream vacation with two boys age 14 and 6- I'd love to get a nice BIG luxury camper stocked with lots of great eats to grill and marshmallows to roast and drive cross country to the Grand Canyon. I'd like to hit every kitschy spot along the way and just enjoy some simple fun with them. yep. that would be cool! :) :car:

Clara- I would be your stalker at your stand! I LIVE on coffee! Right now, my fave is a caramel mocha latte with a naughty touch of whipped :whip: cream!

do you like chicken?

Ellen!!!! You are naughty!!!

yes- despite my earlier trauma.. I now know a chicken has two points of entrance.. and I love chicken!

Though, I must admit, I usually stick to cutlet form!! lol!!

BTW: if you're wondering what this is about-- a secret of mine was spilled during the Oscraps bday party: I'll paste it here:

"I got my hand stuck inside a raw chicken.
It was the first time I made a roast chicken, I knew there was a bag of "something" in there- so I tried to shake it out... when it wouldnt budge, I called my mom- I was on the phone with her and she said I had to stick my hand in and (YUK!) get that darn goodie bag! gagging- I pushed my hand in- when I was shouting that it hurt! and ow! now I'm bleeding! and the... IM STUCK- my mom managed to ask between dying of laughter- where the heck was my hand.... I said- in the hole! WHICH hole she asked- now unable to talk- - I replied, well the NECK of course! (why would I even think the other entrance would accommodate me?) The darn thing stayed on my hand until my husband clipped it off. Needless to say, we had Pizza delivery that night!"

:eyebrows: cant make it up folks!!

Salted Caramel Mochas are one of my faves too...unfortunately I never get them anymore because I am always testing some crazy concoction. This week's special is an Elvis latte (peanut butter and banana...sounds crazy but is actually pretty yummy).

Does your family think you are as amusing as we all do here?

(In my experience, I think I am hysterical. My kids say I am a dork.)

Name one favorite item in your house you couldn't live without! :D

I'm not going to say computer... cause that would be, like

My favorite little luxury thing is my Kindle- I have all my magazines on it that make waiting time so much better- it has my alarm to wake me up, my calendar, my books (that I read so much more often).. yep. The Kindle is is BIG fave of mine. and my blow dryer. mama doesn't look so good with wild hair. And, I have to say- at the risk of sounding really vain.. I just feel so much better when my hair is dried into some semblance of order.

OK I have to say, that chicken thing would have traumatized me for life! :)

You seem to really like vintage imagery...which I too love...where does this come from? Any heritage or just, cause you like it? Do you think your environment influences this?

That's a great question Diane :) I think I have always like all things vintage, even when I was young. I have a large collection of vintage table clothes that I keep in a suitcase from the 1940s...and I love pink depression ware glass. Old tin banks, postcards- all around my house are little old gems that I have collected from tag sales and thrift shoppe and such... I think I am drawn to these things, not only because of their beauty- but because of their depth. They say so much more than the surface. Sometimes its whimsical, sometimes its deep, and sometimes just cheeky. It's all so addictive! ;)

What do you do for Easter for your boys?

ahh- I really like Easter! When the bunny comes to our place, he's a little tricky. No baskets left out in the open, there's always some hunt for them! One time, I actually blew out the yolks of eggs and slipped little clues in each one.

The boys found the first egg, and cracked it open- it said to go to the red chair. there they would find the second egg... which led them someplace else... until they found their hidden baskets. In theory, this was a great idea... but after blowing out my fourth egg yolk and feeling gacky at the sight, stickyness and smell of it all, :yuck: I can tell you without a doubt the bunny will NEVER do that again!

This year, I saw something about a yarn hunt... you tie the baskets to yarn and make the guys find their ay to them.. I may being doing that. You can see it here at my Spring pin board- where I collect tons of my best intentions (and usually settle for the easiest one! :)

I imagine you felt like you were getting back and the chicken when you were blowing out all the eggs!
