Totally freaking out here. I know it's August and I know that it's been August for a week. But somehow, writing the date as 8/7 has caused me great panic.:scared:

Nana Linda, how is everyone this morning? I'm sure that Tracy has got to be pretty sore.

What kind of big plans do people have for the weekend? Ours is fairly slow this time. The kids have a pool party tonight to celebrate a summer of reading. The library sponsors a great reading program through the summer and that, combined with tutoring and a special reading program in July in the mornings has Shaun reading at grade level to start the summer! :rockon:Sydney got everything except the special reading program in July...and since she started above grade level...well, she'll still be above grade level. She didn't need the tutoring but she loves to read and I think that it made it all seem more "normal" to Shaun. So I'm patting my self on the back over this one!

Tomorrow night is Sydney's first soccer practice. Still haven't heard from Shaun's coach but must be soon. I don't know anything about soccer...have never watched it...no family members in it...so this is going to be a brand new experience. Dropped $150 at the soccer store last night on uniforms, shin guards, balls, etc. And they don't have shoes yet. Think we are going to do this season in tennis shoes. :D

Now off to the gallery. Saw some great stuff there before I headed in here.

Hi Linda S! Oh I hear ya on the August dates.... and I see so many of the things I wanted to do (go down the shore!) slipping away. But I have to say that the last week or so I feel like I am having some summer "highlights." Getting to visit with my college roommate, seeing Sally (but missing Kat  ) were awesome. Next week we are going to PA and the county fair and next Sat. we are all going to see Green Day! I have to look at the big picture or I get sad at how fast the summers fly by.

I am thrilled to hear that your kids are doing so good. It is so hard to keep them "on level" over the break. But they are smart cookies and have one helluva smart mom!

I feel like I have not been home in forever and I have a huge to-do list for today. Then Gary emails me this Doggie-Ice Cream party sponsored by 11th Hour, the organization that we adopted Ravyn from. You bring your dog and its like a little fair for people and dogs. I think Ray would have fun but it would end up taking up most of today. *And* they have dogs for adopted and I need to keep Gary as far away from that as possible. I think that 2 dogs, 4 cats, 3 rats, 2 African Clawed Frogs, fish and now a praying Mantis (S/he is Scott's- better than the blood legged tarantula he wanted... ). I am done with pets for a while! But then I see those sad faces begging for a home..... I think I need to keep *me* away from them as well.

Be back for personals in a few. ::grouphug and :tea:

I'm baaaack!

Clara- a hippie w/ a stick up her butt :rotf: Any time you want to meet up, let me know and i'll do my best!

Vicki- doesn't matter that you are not good with words- just seeing your avi here is good enough for me :)

Clara again -- Bwuhahahahahha!! I should laugh at your "drug induced ramblings" but you crack me up. BTDT! But darling- next time start with a half a tab or even just one- you can always take another if you still need it later. And the dreams- the xanax can add to that as well. love ya girlie!!

Merkee- hey lady!!!

Kat- I didn't get a chance to tell you yesterday how sad I was they you weren't able to make it to see us. :( We got there a bit early and I wasn't sure, so I made them get a table for 9 ready.... and I kept looking at my watch and looking at the door.
But we'll have to try again someday soon- How far are you from New Hope? It is literally 15 min's part the kids' Lyme dr, so maybe even one day I have to go down with them, we can run into New Hope instead.

Clara- hahah! I love seeing all of your posts- that is a great idea- you can kidnap Kat!

Sally-- I prob should have warned you about my mom and her stories- once she gets going, she doesn't stop. But I love her to pieces! II also was telling my MIL about how if we ever make it down to Houston we are going to squat at your house :D She wants to meet you so much too- she is so creative and loves being around creative and positive people.

Nana! Oh my goodness, how is Traci- there is prob an update somewhere that I haven't read yet. but I am hoping that everyone is OK. And it is really evil of me to wish that the accident could have waited a day?I mean, I would prefer that it did not happen at all, but to be sooo close to meeting Sally... :(

Clara- if Sally thinks I have a Jersey accent -- just wait until you hear me talk when I am angry or upset. Gary says my "Jersey" really comes out strong then. Its like "back off!!"

Nana Linda ((((hugs))) to you Traci and the babies. I cannot imagine how scary that was- to get a phone call like that and to not know. I have the chills just thinking about that. Oh my.......and the poor babies...... give them all gentle hugs from their crazy adoptive auntie from NJ.
And yes- BTW- makes sense that because she is tiny that she would fracture more easily. Since I have small bones I was automatically at risk for osteoporosis- just have less bone to start with.

Well... I said to myself that I was going to turn the computer off at 9am, but I really needed to catch up with all of you! So I am late! Deal w/ it LOL

xoxoxo

morning all - just got back from the vets for the 2 pets- with meds over $300- yikes

need to go do paperwork before they upgrade the system this afternoon- which means scrap time, plan for vaca time- oh yeah

happy weekend y'all!

we just got home from 5+ hours on the road, picking alyx up from his visit with his grandparents. I'm a bit tired now. roadtrips just wipe me out.

we're going to attempt homemade pizza tonight. i made the dough last night based on Pioneer Woman's recipe. Most of you know I'm not that much of a cook, but so far everything I've tried of hers has come out well. So, fingers crossed :)

I'm super excited atm, as I was typing this, DH set up a way for me to hook my phone up to the stereo in the living room so I can listen to pandora on the good system here! I didn't even know it was possible. Sometimes I feel so lame with technology lol

Vicki- I hear you on technology- my new dish box has two rooms in one box and more options than I ever thought possible- I can record over 300 hours of "stuff"- I mainly record to watch when I am on the treadmill, although- CSI at 6am before breakfast can be a stomach killer! I cleaned the car today and put new wiper blades on it all by myself. I am working on a layout with some of my DC pics, need to finish laundry and beginning to pack for our trip this coming week!

Hi everybody!
I've been running around crazy lately. Not because of school coming up. Well, kind of. I'm racing to get Gen's paperwork finished before school starts, because I know they'll change her program based on her new diagnoses. But the main reason is....

Vince told me he's coming home next week!!!! AHHHHHH!

I don't know if it's really true or not. You never know about delays, etc. I'm totally freaking out. I'm excited/nervous/scared everything! Worried about the big big pay cut we are taking, worried about the baby, worried about school, everything.
But I am also dying to see him! :-) And the girls miss him so much too.

Also, Clara's going to be living here soon! So that's cool! Too bad she didn't get here a long time before Vince, I could have used the company.

Well, just wanted to say hi! Hope everybody is doing well!

morning - much to do today- I am printing out the 12 week photography course from 2 peas that someone mentioned a while back, and while on vacation in very scenic areas, I am going to practice my photography and getting off manual- one son has his gf coming the other is planning on golfing with dh, there is only so much lying pool side I can do, and hiking and photo taking are high on my list of things to do in the beautiful mountians. I may even install fotofusion on dh computer and secretly bring some CD's of digi kits and make some layouts!

Sounds like a splendid plan Laurie! When do you leave?

I spent two hours in the pool yesterday afternoon. Both of my kids, plus 3 of my 4 nieces. (The oldest one actually stayed out with us the entire time.) I was exhausted. Then we had the library pool party last night. I thought for sure I'd sleep late. Grrrr...

This afternoon, we begin our foray into soccer. Here we go...

We leave wed am- will go to CNY/NNY for 3 days, then on to Stowe VT for a week- oh yeah I can feel it in my bones! Even if it rains there are plenty of shops and restaurants, but great views no matter what.

Good morning my loves!

Vicki- how did your pizza come out? Sally and I were talking about Pioneer Woman's recipes and I need to find me some new stuff to cook. I just wish the kids weren't so darn picky. Bet you are so happy to have Alyx home.

Linda S- whew! Sounds like a fun and busy weekend- have fun with soccer.

Laurie-- have a blast on vaca- and good luck with that photography class. I have to find that one as well. Just keep saying to myself-- when I have time. Ha!!!

Andrea!!!!! Woooooottttt! SO happy to hear that Vince is coming home soon! No worries! It is all going to work out fine!!!!
And I am so jealous that you are going to get to hang with my hippie with a stick up her butt soul-sis! (AKA Clara!! :D)

Hope I am not missing anyone- I didn't sleep again last night and the brain is like mush.

Have a great day!

Hey ladies!! I'm trying to live it up, even though I should be in bed. But I only have internet until Wednesday unless I run someplace with WiFi! So, I'll hop on and say hi.

So, I'm in Myrtle Beach and got to hang out with Nana Linda today. It was waaaaaaay fun. She ditched her family in their room and my kids played in the pool and we just sat and talked and talked. It was awesome. Tomorrow we are playing at a water park andher family can see that I'm not some secret man she's run off with. LOL!! I was talking to my sister tonight and she has been internet dating recently and she said it's like internet dating so I said I was internet friending. That cracked her up.

So, no major rambling tonight. I am hanging out at Myrtle Beach until Wednesday. I love it here. It is really warm and so is the water, which is much different than the west coast. The coast looks really straight which is not at all like the northern west coast at all. I really love to see different parts of the country though. DH got to see around the town we will be living and he was pretty impressed with it, which is really great because he has been not looking forward to it at all and of course i got to make his first night here the awesomest ever. Okay, I just realized that could sound dirty and that was not intentional...just so you know. Anyway, I went grocery shopping and as I was coming home he called and asked me to pick up some beer and even said it didn't have to be good beer, which for him is a HUGE thing. So, he only drinks 2 beers generally. Micro Beers are huge on the West Coast and so he drinks either Alaskan Amber or Fat Tire. He has had neither since we left Washington because he hasn't been able to find either or anything even comparable. So, I went to the shoppette (an oversized convenience store on post) to get him some beer and saw Skinny Dip which is made by the same company as Fat Tire so I knew they had to have Fat Tire. So, on his first night at the place he was sure was the worst place on Earth he got his favorite beer for the first time since we left. I think that is a sign that things will be good. Life is going to be just fine, even if we live in a camper today. We won't live there forever.

So, hopefully I will be meeting up with Andrea this week. Pretty stoked about that, although I am really hoping it is postponed because Vince gets back soon, although I know how those early quick returns throw the wives off. It seems like they should just be super excited but they get into this routine without them there and they have to do things to get ready and they just need a minute to process the whole thing. So quick returns are harder to deal with then the waiting for them to return stuff that is a giant pain because the dates change and move 8 million times. The Army is a pain. Buut hopefully we get to meet up soon. We'll have plenty of time though. I think we will not only be living in the same town but in the same housing area, so kinda like living in the same neighborhood...a very large neighborhood, but the same one. We'll see how that comes together. Watch us end up being neighbors or something. How funny would that be. I'll tell you what, in the Army you find out how small the world is.

Anyway, I have not done personals in say...forever so today is the day!!

LindaS - Isn't the soccer stuff unreal?? I hope he loves it so that you get to reuse the stuff. I hate to tell ya though...one rain and you'll be buying those cleats. That grass gets so slippery. That summer reading program sounds awesome and how fun to have a swimming party to celebrate. Yay for reading kids. I need to get Ethan's butt reading.

Chris - What you didn't want to open a zoo? I say, go to the adoption fests and then you can open up a petting zoo for all the local kids and make some money or something from what you love to do...just a thought. LOL I love that you love animals so much. I like animals in other people's houses. Just not so much in mine. I like my cat. She takes care of herself and I can make Ethan do the rest. I don't know what I'd do if I had a high maintenance animal. I'd have to send it to you. :) Hahaha!! Oh, I usually do layer my xanax, just so you know, but thought that taking two would make me extra relaxed and it did, but it also made me extra unable to drive anywhere. So, I just kept hopping online instead. I was definitely glad to be on the road though and my dreams have gotten better now that we are finally in the right state...Oh, I thought you'd get a kick out of my family's description of me. I know they do.

Laurie - $300 in pet meds? What the heck are they taking? Holy moly!! I hope they are okay. I hope the system upgrade went well and you got all your scrap time in. Yay for vaca!!

Vicki - I hope the pizza is super yummy. Sounds like that Pioneer Woman knows what she's doing. All this technology stuff totally Wows me!!

Andrea - I already wrote you a novel...but Yay you!!! I hope everything comes together with Gen too.

Okay, that's all. I am off to bed. Love you all!!
