CHEERY O
For some reason I am really, really screwy on my days and dates this whole month. I keep losing a week (for some reason, my brain does *not* want me to deal with next week...) and then today i woke up thinking it was Thursday, which was really odd because yesterday i thought was Monday, since we had Monday which felt like a Sunday off.

Didja get all that?

Are you all so amazing excited for the Chilean miners? As of right now, there have been 6 removed from the mine. I have been following this since Aug. and I simply am so amazed at their strength and optimism. I hope this effort continues to go safely and smoothly.

(going backwards for personals)

Laurie!!!!! Congrats!!!!! That is a GREAT WIN!!!!!!

Kat- come walk/exercise with us! Even just 5 mins! Today I am going to do the treadmill again, Gary fell asleep upstairs again. He told me again to go ahead an wake him so i can do wii fit. But I feel so bad. Sometimes he doesn;t fall asleep until 4 or 5 am. How do I wake the guy at 7am?

What would you ladies do?

Anyway-- take advantage of the nice weather before we get snow LOL

Nana Linda- Goooo Savannah! Looks like Nana won't be needing a treadmill- she has a baby to catch! I bet that S is also going to be less cranky now that she is able to get where she wants to go. Scott waslike that with crawling. He was sooooo cranky but once he was able to get moving around on his own, he really settled down.

Meg- good luck with the stores and designing!!!! And woot to YMG! I love my bamboo!!

Nana Linda- Hope you had some down time eventually. Our leaves have been falling too, but mostly from the summer drought and the heavy t-storms we have been getting. very little "color" as of right now. Hope you get to that pumpkin patch!

Clara- mmmm, I saw you posted that TS Beer bread is so yummy- isn't it???? DId you make your soup too? No one in my house would eat that except for me. but yum yum yum!! Wish I could have come over. I would have tickled you until you smiled. Or until you :brick:

Kat- good for you!!! You need a bit of down time and what better way to spend it than here? Thanks for your love, been seeing your posts on lost of my LO's xoxo

How is DH doing? Anymore news on test?

Meg- I am goign to have to try our your PS tip! TFS!

Mama Vicki! Hey girl! I hear ya on the so much to do. I wish life would just "pause" so i can catch up!

Krista- I have been following behind you a bit in the gallery- great stuff. Amanda's DSL Challenge is seriously amazing and heartwarming and heartbreaking all at the same time.
Powerful stuff!

Linda S- were you able to get out and walk a bit? Hope so!

Love to you all!

Morning all - Chris- the miners- so inspiring- just watched the 8th one and the hug and kiss he gave his wife brought tears to my eyes such raw emotion. I think today will be a 15 min outside walk- I can't wake up- went to bed after the first miner and slept through the alarm. We have a front coming through today- as I age I begin to be more aware of how the weather changes affect me, or maybe it is just an excuse? Just in case I will shut my computer down before I go.

Clara- hope today is a good schooling day for you- any lessons you can plan around the miner rescue- maybe making your own winch? Oh and for handwriting- there is a program through OT generally called handwriting without tears

Vicki - hit Chris' pause button today- I heard last night @ amanda's chat that you have two monitors- I am so jealous- the secretaries at work have them I so think they would be great for digi scrapping

Yam- where is yam? I miss you

Krista- is running a part of todays adventures?

Nana- run after the new walker today!

Meg- can't wait to see your designs

LindaS- will you get a chance to move today? I hope you do!

Kat- great tip- I will share that with the parents who tell me no playdoh- when their kids need to get messy- hope your me time was refreshing!

Everyone else- Have wonderful days

My wish for today is to make it through with a great attitude- it is going to be a hang on for the ride kind of day at work - My boss is unexpectedly out for the rest of the week and her pt's were distributed to the rest of us - so busy, busy, busy!

AND YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSS I was watching this last night for the first two coming out!!! CRYING LIKE A BABY!!! WOW!! I have been following too Chris....I am in total awe of these men and how FABULOUSLY they have done....especially those first 17 days before any contact was made with them. WOW!!!!! Man I am still crying this morning as I watch!!

I am off this morning, Savannah and I, to meet my Mom for :tea:
Then.....maybe..depends of "MISS FUSSY BRITCHES" to go eat lunch with Cameran and Sharon....it's National School Lunch week.....or something like that.....the school is encouraging family to come eat with the children this week....:bowl:

I am having a Halloween party for the kids this year....Cameran is SOOO into this Halloween thing....he wants to PIMP the house up in Scary stuff...so I have been finding things for the last couple of weeks to decorate the yard....stuff is expensive!!! So I have been scouring the discount stores. He was happy with what I found..and then beyond thrilled when I found an affordable Grim Reaper at Walmart this weekend!!

Good morning ladies!!
I'm on the fly this morning .... but yes I watched the miner rescues .... with NanaLinda .... bawling like a baby!! Miracles are beautiful!!
Love you all,
Today ... I am thankful for my space and my life!!
Krista

morning my darling ones!!I'm racing through, too. I've been lurking here this week doing my normal 90 to nothin' trying to get things together for my first show this weekend. It seems to be eating my lunch!!

Yup...watched the first one up last night, then hit the hay. Amazing, amazing uplifting story!! I agree with Krista...miracles are beautiful!!

Today amidst all of the show prep, I am taking my mom in to have her cataract fixed? removed? whatever you call it, she's having eye surgery. Shouldn't take too long, and I have a bunch of handwork to get done that I've been saving for today, so I should be good. We covet your thoughts and prayers...

also, Cora is taking the PSAT. I think she got it into her head (since she and I kept saying it!) that she won't have a college education unless she qualifies for the National Merit Scholarship with this test, so she is freaking a little, too. I finally told her last night that it just doesn't matter how she does, her life will go on and we will love her regardless of her scores! ohhhh the pressure teenagers put on themselves!! Would love it if you could pray for her, too, today!!

okay, I'm really off to get my display together and see what I need for Sat!!

HUGS!!

love you all!!

Morning ladies... Hi Ho it's off to work I go today, then to the grocery store, then to pick up some scrapbook pages I had printed out, then home to change, then off to a Scavenger Hunt and supper that work is putting on  :faint: Have been watching the rescue of the miners also... they are soooo brave!! It must be hard for the ones that will be last to come up! Everyone has been so busy in the gallery with the challenges and I am loving all of the LO's, some good scrap therapy must be happening with Amanda's Challenge, I know it has been good for me!
Hope to make it here for personals later, if time allows. Until then I hope you all have a great day!!

chef-anim-chef-cook-food-smiley-emo.gif
! The supermarket near me had ripe bananas that were just turning brown for 10 cents a pound!!!!!!!!!!! OH YEAH!!!! Time for bread!

Chris - I had a blast looking at everyone's layouts so inspiring :)

Laurie - Love your wish for today!!

Nana - Aww coffee sounds fab!!! Hope you have fun at school today :) Our Cafeteria is too small so they aren't having anything like that. Though that would be nice!! What kind of games are you looking for?

Krista  Love you too!!! Hope you have a fab day!!

Sally - Said a prayer for your Mom. Hope everything goes well and she has a speedy recovery! Said one for Cora too - I know she'll do well!! :) Good Luck at the show!!

Trudy - Wow!!!! You need some coffee to get you through that day!! At least it's pack with fun stuff :) Where did you get your pages printed?

Ok ladies....off to hit the gallery and scrap!!!! Wooot Woooot!!! Have a fabulous one!! Love ya!!

My wish for today is that I am centered and at peace for the rest of the day :)

Chris - I've been screwed up on days since Friday or Saturday. Yesterday I really didn't know what day it was!!!

Laurie - oh boy, I hope your schedules work out!! I kind of caused that to happen at my dad's firm this next week - he's the vice pres and now he won't be there for several days while we're visiting. Right before an election, that caused some drama.

Nana Linda - have you looked at instructables for the party ideas? They usually have cheap options. I'm using my phone right now but I'll try to find you some stuff later. It sounds like so much fun!!! Youre a great Nana :)

Krista - have a great day!!! Slow down and have some coffee :)

Sally - have I told you how proud I am of you and your store??? Well i am!! Oh, and the PSAT & National Merit whatever really do help you get scholarships. I wasn't a NMS, and it significantly cut down my options. So, I got an art scholarship... As a Deaf Ed major.

Trudy - sounds like a very busy day!!! I hope everything gets done :)

Kat - mmmm can I have a slice??? We buy our bananas three or four at a time so I never get ripened ones for bread!!!

About the miners - I'm seriously way too emotional right now to allow myself to watch!!! I watched the "pre show" for a little bit before NCIS came on. I'm so happy for them!!!! And their families!!! Kids!!! Wives!!! And that one guy's mistress! You never hear of successful mine rescues anymore!

Well I hope didn't miss anyone. I'm doing this from bed, the hubby is sound asleep. He stayed up for about 34 hours yesterday. Boys.

Thanks everyone for your encouragement!!! I'll have a package of stuff for you guys to play with if you want, I just trying to get as much done as possible right now.

So my clients who hired me for two sites finally got back to me on the one where they've actually made their deposit. I was really hoping to get it finished before my trip, but they're planning on finishing after. Super huge bummer bc we're taking the jetta in to get hopefully just a new alternator today. If it's over a $300 fix, we have to cancel the trip. We'll be taking my caliber, so transportation isn't the issue, but the fact that we won't receive his paycheck while we're up there is. So I'm praying all goes well, the jetta has to be fixed before we go so my MIL has transportation while we're gone.
Well, that's pretty much it!

Meg - Of course you can have a slice!!! So sorry about the car and not getting paid before you leave ((hugs))! My fingers crossed that it all works out for you!

Thanks Kat!!
The hubby is still sleeping -- I was really hoping he'd be up earlier to get the car in, looks like it'll have to be tomorrow.

Ugh, I went to bed with a migraine, woke up with it, and it's still holding on. I'm not getting any work done.

So...today is a crazy day trying to get everything ready for the trip tomorrow. we have to get up sooooooo early to catch our flight at 6AM. I just made our parking reservations. $34 for 6 days of covered parking. That is beyond awesome. We get our dog this weekend. The kids are going to be soooooooooooooooooo excited. I cannot wait!!! I need to put an ad on craigslist right now to see about finding a crate for Gryffe. I really don't want to spend $100 if we can help it.

Today we also went to the library and I was looking at craft books to get a start on crafts for Christmas gifts and we found the COOLEST book. Ethan and I are totally stoked about it...are you ready for this...Ductigomy. How cool is that? They have duct tape aprons, wallets, baseball caps, etc. So we are making duct tape gifts for the jerk younger brother. Oh, get this...remember the wedding crap and how mad I was? well, he is just an ass and I am just done and I think Derek truly gets that he is a selfish ass who only wants to do the fun stuff and truly cares about no one but himself. So, the kids and I are going to be in WA for a week longer that Derek and his younger brother just happened to call while we were in W. Virginia. Where we were is huge for outdoor sports, rafting, hiking, climbing, etc. They have the largest arch bridge and one day a year (next weekend as a matter of fact while we'll be getting our beer on) they'll have the bridge closed for the weekend for bridge sports; bungee jumping, parasailing, base jumping, etc. Anyway, so even though Derek's younger brother has never made any attempt to visit us or even send us Christmas gifts most years, since we'll be out of town they should apparently meet up and go rafting. I was impressed that Derek said he would rather wait until we were home and could go since we enjoy spending time with the people who live there that Derek's brother doesn't even know. the only reason he has visited Derek's older brother is because he lives in Alaska. He's a piece of work. And I used to think he was cool. Not so much any more.

Okay, venting done and I have work to do. I am very lame and can't do any personals. I love you all and will check back in very soon. Big hugs!!

Clara -- I wasn't around for the younger brother drama, but I know how you feel. Jeff & his brother were both adopted, but his brother was foster adopted. His bro's birth mom had visitations with him weekly until she died when he was four. Our theory is that the YB is so disconnected from us and his parents because of all the crap that happened with him. Since they were the ones who had to hand him over to this abusive person once a week :\
For example, he's had a photo of him and his birth mom as his FB pic for over a year now, and lists his birth bros as his siblings but rejects my DH. I feel really bad for my in laws, because they love him so much -- but he looks down on all of us. My husband doesn't understand why I dislike his YB so much... but he's beginning to see it himself.

Onto a happier note -- We're making all of our Christmas gifts too!! I'm doing vanilla extract mason jars for the ladies & mixed nuts for the men. I just got the newest issue of Real Simple magazine, and they have three different recipes for the nuts! It was taking me FOREVER to figure out what to do for the men. Here's the site that gave me the idea for the vanilla extract... I might even do some almond extract:

I know! how cool was that watching them come out! I gotta admit, I got all teary.

LaurieW:
LOL Yes, I have 2 monitors - it ROCKS!

Cora: GOOD LUCK! I know you will do well (or probably already have at this point in the day). You are smart and witty and sweet and beautiful to boot, you will go far in life no matter what you score(d) today!!!

Kat: GO lady GO!

Meg: I hope everything works out and you get to go on your trip!

Clara: DUCT TAPE!?! that sounds cool!

And now, about my day...

Started off this morning with an earthquake! Of course, being in Oklahoma you don't really expect earthquakes - tornadoes, yes. earthquakes, no. So, I was bent over blow drying my hair and wobbled a bit. I thought, good grief, I gotta start working out if I can't even stand here drying my hair. how relieved was I when I found out it was an earthquake lol.

Then, went to a memorial service for our good, good friend's father. So sad, but it was a really lovely service. We spent a long time after the luncheon hanging out with our friend and his family. His dad was such a cool guy. We'll all really miss him.

After that the hub and I went shopping for my halloween costume. Who knew cowboy boots were so danged expensive?!?! I found a pair that were actually really comfortable from the moment I put them on but they were $170 at the outlet store (and they are orange lol)! I can't decide if I should just go back and get them because every other pair was soooooooooooo UNcomfortable. but, $170 for orange boots - i dunno....

I'm about to go start cooking this Mexican Lasagna for our friend's family. I made this last night for our dinner so I could test it out before I made it for our friends family. It's pretty darned good. I had 3 servings and was MISERABLE afterwards lol. But, I guess that means it passed the taste test.
