Happy Hump Day! I cannot believe it is Wed already. And the 19th! And here were are- finally getting summer weather. These poor kids are going to sweat their butts off when they go back to school if it stays like this. (I hope the 4th grade teachers bring nose plugs for after recess hehehe!)
I am sort of bummed. My kids were supposed to go to my SIL's for a sleepover tonight and Gary and I had a gift cert. for a fancy schmancy restaurant near them. I was going to pick up the kids tomorrow after work at my MIL's.
The plans got wonky and my SIL couldn't take them overnight. They live 45-50 mins away and about 10 mins past my MIL. The restaurant is pretty much in the middle. It didn't make sense to us to go go out for dinner and have the kids just hang out for an houir or so, for no reason. And I was not up to driving down, then home, then back down and home tonight-- then do it all over again for work tomorrow. I thought my kids would be bummed, but they are ok with it. We'll see the cousins at MIL's family reunion on Sat. I guess it works out ok. The last thing I want/need is more heavy food- I posted in the Healthy O's that I feel like a zeppole! Too much food this summer!
Thank you all for the sweet welcome back! It feels good to be missed LOL
Hi Dawn!! How are ya? I was thinking of you at the county fair when we walked through the Bunny Exhibits. We saw the Dutch bunnies (that is what Davy is, right?)There were some really sweet ones!
Gary doesn't remember this, but we went to this same fair when he first got sick, and before he was diagnosed w/ Lyme. So he had lots of wacky brain/neuro symptoms-- one being impulse control disorder. He wanted to bring home a bunny int he worst way. We were busting on him big time this year about which one we were going to get. The small bunnies are so cute- the big ones.... (lops?) ... I don't know, I think I'd just rather get a cat LOL
Oh oh oh!!!! I forgot to tell you all this story!
Right before we left last week, Gary was walking out of the family room and heard a squeaking sound in the curtains. Turned out that it was a little bat that must have come in overnight and got caught.
He and Scott carefully got a net and brought him outside. The 4 of us were looking at him saying how cute he was. Cait named him Vladimir!
It looked like his wing was broken at first so Gary put him over on a table under the hedge. Next time we looked back for him, he had flown away so hopefully he was all right.
I kept telling myself when I got home I had to share since you all think I am wacky. It is not just me- its my whole family!
Linda W- saw the pics of cookie making on FB! Too cute! You rock!
Oh wow, you are going to be lonely (not trying to rub it in) when C-man goes to school. But soon enough you'll have another g-baby to hold! Yay!!
Kat- hope your day was as fab as you wished!!! Glad I could spread some sunshine! ROTF at Nick-- congrats on the posts!!!!
Sally- I am so sorry I missed your party! And your toasts- I got Cora's PM when I got back home But you know how much I love and adore you!!!!
The concert sounds amazing!! You are soooo talented!
Clara-- I hear ya on the different "parent-running-deal." I didn't mind doing it all when Gary was working, but with him home, it gets up my butt when he doesn't. When he was really sick I knew it was hard. But when he feels ok- it drives me up a wall! But he is getting way better about it now.
I am so happy to hear that the daycare was able to figure out a better way to handle the biting. It sonds like she was bored. And in day care- kids tend to fall to the lowest common denominator. I used to teach a combined PreK class of 3, 4, 5's. Everyone settled behavior-wise to the youngest. Drove me crazy! LOL

I wish I didn't have to go food shopping today.
I wish I could scrap and make some fab lo's.
I want someone else to go food shopping for me instead!
