hello and good morning (afternoon and all that!)
I have to do this as fast as I can. I had to lock Kitty up with her bis sis so she would leave me alone. I don't understand why she won't hang out with me when I am not busy, why is that?

I was able to get in some reading time, rather than a nap yesterday and it felt good to relax for a bit. I have to remember all of that. I don't get it. I feel *guilty* if I am not working or cleaning or something. The people on the "Law of Attraction" Camp would say that i am working from a state of lack, which is true: how can i deny that? :pound:

At any rate, I am working three days this week, so that will be good, especially cuz I think I am going to need brakes on my car and both kids need new mattresses. Why is it always something?

Anyway, I am rambling :blah:

Tip on Tuesday:
Duct Tape is always the answer when Faery gets like that.

JK!

Phyllis you got up to 50*? Cool! we didn't-- it stayed in the upper 30's and rainy. It was that raw, damp cold. brrr! The fog did look pretty cool in the woods tho.
Dang! I should have used that for my 365..... which of course I forgot to take anyway.

Hi Fran-- what great new about your mom! Enjoy your girl-time with DD!

Sally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I miss you tons, my friend! And i miss your monday and every day cheerleading. xoxo

Clara- IMHO any military spouse is a hero, but yes, I agree the ones who have kids- like Andrea- I just do not know how they do it. That would be freaking amazing it the early retirement goes through for you! I know how much you want to get back home.

Rent is just so incredible- its Off Broadway now in a little, very intinate theater. We had 6 row seats. Just fab. Did you see the Chris Columbus mivie? (blech) I have it and will watch it for a Rent fix, but ...... yeah.... not the same. There is a DVD of the play, have you seen that one? That is about as close as you'll get to live.
Wait-- BRB

Too funny RE: men. LOL Can't live with em, can't live w/o them. (perhaps...)

Yvon- i would love to work in a green house, but that really sounds like a lot of work. Good luck!

Donna- 60*?? wow!! It is pretty weird, not that i am complaining in the moment, but I do worry about the long-term consequences of it all.

Nana- how has Mike been surviving home so far? And you???

LOL Linda!!! I doubt it! Even if you feel that way on the inside.

Good morning Chris. It is always something isn't it? Not much time online last night and I got up late this morning but I'll catch up with the Daily O's tonight.

In the meantime, everyone have a good day!

All I get is that Netflix is not available in my country :)

But ... since I see the url ... what's the fuzz about Rent? Everyone talks about it, and I have no idea what it's about even LOL Can you tell I'm not a big fan of musicals? I love music - I love movies/theatre - but put them together and I'll :puke:

Just got back from work ... looks like I will be doing lots of work for a couple of weeks. Well ... not tons, but compared to being a SAHM, it is more than I'm used to. Well ... money is nice, and cooking I know how to do, so no problemo for me :D Especially since I'm preparing for the stay of 60+ sexy, well built Italian cross country skiing gods that are coming here to do Vasaloppet. You could have far worse work :bounce:

hahaa! nana Linda, that's gonna be ME, too. i did the old "stay up until 1 a.m. so MAYBE you can sleep a little later into the morning" thing. didn't work AGAIN. i got up at 6:30. AGAIN. so i'm motoring on 5 1/2 hours. and this with a girl who is not known for her affable moods even with 8 HOUR of sleep. mood prospects for the day looking grim.

Chris, we actually got up to 58 degrees, if you can believe it. most of the snow is gone. that's how i like it! (gone....)

Eva! can i help with the Italian crosscountry skiing Gods? you know. any little thing i can do....

have a great day! good moods for all!

Good morning ladies. Just popping in real quickish. As always...got stuff to do. Don't we all? Anyway, this morning started with a little boy crying saying his tummy hurt. Unfortunately that's what happens every morning so no love from momma. He got in all sorts of trouble last night. I made the bad decision to get him an iTouch for his birthday last August and have regretted it ever since. So he is switching from the play rock climbing class to the team and yesterday Derek for some reason thought it no big deal for E to take it with him for when he was done (was he planning on me being late or what) so instead of putting it away he played on it during the practice watching videos and stuff. Of course by the time I got there E was working out like he was supposed to. Unfortunately for him I asked the coach how he did and he was less than impressed...as was I. So now Ethan lost ot for a week and then for a month it can't leave the house and he has a set time period he can use it. Plus he has to earn the $12 from the class that he wasted before the next class to prove he wants to be there...of course he only has a week to earn the money. I was one angry momma.

So, nothing too exciting planned today. I feel like I was supposed to do something but forgot what. I hate that. Oh well.

Last night's Korean food was great, although I got a lot of "when my mom makes it..." from Dave. he wasn't being mean, just trying to be helpful for when I make it again. I used ready made sauces from the Korean market and once again was reminded how much I hate it when I let DH do the grocery shopping. He loves to remind me of how well he listens. I am sure that husbands screw that type of stuff up on purpose so that you don't ask them to do stuff.

Chris - The Chris Columbus one will have to do, for now. I can't watch theater on TV. It bugs me and they zoom in so you can't see everything and when they zoom out it is weird and no matter how well it is filmed I still feel like I am watching a home movie. So, I am going to just have to keep it at the top of my list of things to do. I did like that they used mostly the broadway actors for the movie though. I would also really like to see "Moving Out." The one based on Billy Joel music.

Eva - Rent is based off of an Opera called La Boheme. here is the description from Wikipedia: Rent (often stylized as RENT) is a rock musical with music and lyrics by Jonathan Larson based on Giacomo Puccini's opera La bohème. It tells the story of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create in New York's Lower East Side in the thriving days of Bohemian Alphabet City, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS. It takes place in 1998-2000 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rent_(musical) The music is amazing and "Seasons of Love" is one of my fave songs.

Nana - (I love that we now have to call you Nana because LindaS has been hanging out) That is so cool about the replacement of your Keurig. Suzy apparently has the worst Keurig luck and they have replaced hers 6 times or something crazy like that. I love that companies do that. Epson replaced my printer the same way. So awesome. Sorry you are going to have a long sleepy cranky day. You need to take a trip to Starbucks. I'll tell you what, we keep the Starbucks Via on hand around my house. I know it is instant but my husband doesn't mind it and he's really picky about it. I like the cold coffee mix. Instead of mixing it with water I mix it in milk. Plus they work great if you want to make a coffee smoothie. Hugs!!

Linda - Have a great day. Getting into tax season and end of the year stuff. I hope they don't kick your butt at work too bad. I know my mom has been busy with end of year closing stuff. Yuck!!

Eva - have fun helping out with the skiers. It is so fun doing that kind of stuff. I helped with the Olympic Trials for diving one year and got to watch Laura Wilkinson before she went on to kick everyone's butt at the Olympics. I had to volunteer though. No pay for that. :( Make sure to not drool over those Italian Ski Gods too much so you don't have extra work cleaning up puddles.

Phyllis - you too? That stinks. If I stay up late I'll sleep all day...or rather I feel like I have to sleep all day and can't wake myself up. I'm trying sooooooo hard to get my sleep schedule straight but I have no self control when it comes to going to bed and would stay up until 4AM if I could. Ugh!! Lucky for me Addie sleeps in too.

Kristy - I hope your day gets better.

Okay, I'm off (unless I find that I did some cross posting). Hugs for all!!

Chris - So, after all this talk of Rent I thought I'd check out if it was being performed anywhere loacally...and IT IS!!! NC State is putting it on in February. And it is cheap...only $20 a ticket. I hope it comes together. That would be so awesome. I've wanted to go see it for years. I'll let you know how it works out.

Morning Ladies... I quick pop in for me, I am dreading taking my poor Mr. Abu to the Vet as I think it might be a very sad morning for me and especially for him. This afternoon I get the lump removed from my little finger at the hospital, so not a great day off!! Hope everyone else's day is better than mine!! I feel some scrap therapy coming on!

Eva- you got me thinking about how to put Rent into words- what it means to me. It inspired me to do this page

The quote if by my BFF, its the simplest way to explain it :) Its a celebration, a reminder of hope in spite of life and death. Its a personal journey for us, one that came full circle, very nicely, this weekend.
The 1st time Jenn saw rent, she was pg with her son, who died when she was 24 weeks along. The next time she saw it was right after her loss. The first time I saw it with her was when she was pg with her DD, my god daughter (that gorgeous brunette in the page!).Its kind of hard to believe, lol

One of the reasons that Rent is so special is that Jonathan Larson, who wrote Rent, died the night before it opened on B-way. It just makes it so much *more* with its msg of "No Day But Today."

Clara-- you have to go see it! I was nervous about seeing it off-b-way rather than in the big theater. But it was in some ways, even better seeing it on a smaller stage. Oh you'll just LOVE it!!!

My husband was up for it and even suggested getting a group together. I told him I'm buying tix tomorrow so either get it together or don't but tomorrow is the day.

I made bulgogi and korean ribs. We bought kimchee because I didn't want to even try that...but I would LOVE to learn how to make cucumber kimchee. That's my favorite along with bean sprouts. Yummy!! I really prefer going out for Korean when I can and they give you all the little sides. WE used to go to this place in WA and they would give you 8 different sides or something. They had these potatoes that came with this sweetish sauce and they were cold. Sooooooo yummy. One time we went at the end of the night and they just gave us what was left to take home. It was fantastic.
