Woke up at 3:30 this morning, actually awake before that, but got up at 3:30. Put my numbers in to start May, yah how did that happen, and then did some commenting in the gallery. Closed out my April challenge. Yesterday must have been the day to pay bills; all mine are online, but I had receipts to upload into Quicken and Amex & Visa statements to verify, I'm very anal about keeping receipts & keeping track of them. Amex card has settled back down after it's post Key West weight gain. Did a couple loads of laundry, printed some scrapbook pages that I hadn 't done yet. I've decided to print duplicates of everything with the grands & share them with their mom. She's so good about sharing pictures with me and I do the same. Her birthday is May 10 and there it a 2-day volleyball tournament so I can give them to her then. Tuesday's track meet started with a temperature of 61°. 2 sweatshirts and black sweatpants in the sun was almost too warm, but I got some great high jump pictures of Lauren. Then we moved to the dreaded bleachers, which are in the shade for her 3 running events. We sat on the quilt. Of course her last event was third from the end, by then it was 50, breezy and chilly. Wendell had gone back to the car for my winter coat which has been a third passenger since spring sports started. I reached in the pockets for my mittens and they weren't there. I said, "I thought my mittens were in the pockets." He said, "One fell out when I took the coat out of the car, so I put it in the car & took the other one out too & left it there." ????

I don't know if that's a guy thing or a left handed as opposed to right handed .... "are your hands cold ?" In his defense he loaned me his gloves, but when I originally said I was going to go get my coat, where do you think that mitten would have been?
Lauren did well, she got 2nd in the 200m and one of the relays she was on got 3rd. She was asked to do the long jump at the varsity meet this afternoon, so it's back to the track, and then 6 miles to Christian's baseball game. Possibility of rain so we'll see. They are predicting 80 for the weekend so I hope we can get the bikes out.
Tuesday night during that big storm, the frog choir started. They've been quiet the last 2 days, but at 3:30 this morning they were at it again. I have a bunch of track pictures to sort through and a bunch of old quotes that you may not remember saying what you said, you know what I mean ?
@faerywings I know you know because you don't seem to know what you said right after you said it, you know?
Well I did it--I bought a new Canon camera with wifi and 24.2 megapixels( my other was only 18) that can still use my lens. I will be able to send pics through my phone...so excited i think this will really come in handy in Germany. I paid extra to get it on Thursday rather than next week. Ill be able to play with it before we leave on our summer trip North. Last night at the music night hubby bought a cake for me and everyone/band sang HBday, I was embarrassed it's fine for everyone else but I don't like it for me.
Now it's full speed ahead to get ready to leave on 12th.
That is so exciting. you are smart to get it ahead of time to cut down the learning curve with it. Me, with anything I getWoke up at 3:30 this morning, actually awake before that, but got up at 3:30. It took me a bit to get used to my Canon 7D again . I always shoot sports in manual mode so after a few years of phone photos, it took a bit.
so nice to have the star player in the family. I totally understand why you are so proud. I just cannot imagine sitting in the cold to watch the games. I went to all our son's baseball games but it wasn't cold or rainy. Kudos to you for being so dedicated.
That is so sweet of you to say, she played like a star that day but these girls all went thru a 6 hour tryout, so like an honors orchestra or choir they all have star capability and 2 weeks ago at that tournament when they beat 6 teams the first day without a loss they played like stars. She was so funny at the track meet when I showed her a picture of her running she says, "wow, I look athletic, I didn't think I looked athletic." Good grief, legs up to her ampits full out sprint.
I get excited each month to see all the challenges
I'm totally with you, Kay. I have so many favorite things since coming here a year ago and that's that the challenges are challenging and have forced me to get out of my comfort zone. Scary thing for me for sure in fact something that almost made me quit before I started, there were only 2 challenges left when I came on. One was Storybook/fantasy and Ona had to talk me off of that ledge. I ended up really liking it. There are still a couple I can't wrap my head around, but I've stretched my creative muscles. Color is a driving force for me, and I really like themed elements. Funny thing, in Minnesota, we don't have any luck growing flowers in the snow.
I love flowers and greenery and making clusters.... that goes back to my love of making floral arrangements and wreaths for years in Real Life. I am drawn to vintage and steampunk and fantasy as well as seasonal collections.
This explains a lot, Kay. I have zero talent arranging flowers - In a vase, flop. LOVE seasonal, Christmas of course is my absolute favorite, I have a hard time with non-traditional Christmas . colors , and glitter is a driving force of course. I hate to be dense but I totally do not get steampunk, but I know a lot of people like it.
I dont want to cover or overlap any item cause I love the item as it is and the work that went into creating it. Its so fun how and what we all do. Its been fun to see (read). I love the clusters you make and how you and Chris use so many flowers and its stunning. When I try it looks like I handed a toddler the bouquet and said here have fun
Goes with my comment above, exactly the SAME way a flower arrangement I do looks like. A child picking dandelions does better
Today my daughter who lives in Ontario is supposed to have tornado watches

they went from 41F to 84F in less than 24 hours, crazy weather for sure!
That's the recipe for cooking it up especially when the atmosphere gets soupy. I can't figure out why bad storms woke the frogs up for a night.
Okay, I'm going to be the one to say this...I wish the conductor had gone for fuller sized panties that covered her more, or looser pants...her butt was SO distracting for me

Sorry...
Thank you for saying it out loud.
