The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Good morning! Wow, I am so happy I don't have to work today. Yesterday was long and after three days in a row, I was dag-gone pooped out. I only worked 4 hours, but it's a lot. I didn't feel like 4 hours, the sessions really fly by. But between the physical part of the job and the mental work-- poooooped out. :D

Breakfast with the family was awesome. Caitlyn didn't have a meeting until 11, so she hung out with us, just needed to check work emails as they came in. My dad's hearing was 90% out again, but he and Scott were able to chat. Scott was showing him photos of his last camping trip with the new additions of a sink/kitchen prep area. His car camping "kitchen" is nicer than my in-the-house kitchen. Hahah! I was teasing Scott that if I had a dime every time someone came up to me on Earth day to say what a nice guy he is, I'd have alotta dimes. He said that if it were the other way around, he'd also have a lotta dimes. He was disappointed that I didn't hang out afterward, he was in the office visiting with the crew. And get this-- that is when he took and sent the photos of The Best Chris to Caitlyn. Everyone was in the office voting on them. I though that he had taken a quick pic and sent it to Caitlyn for the giggles. Apparently, they had a vote! :rotfl:
I had him send me the photos. I promise there will be a LO at some point.

HS was both fun and challenging. The plans and activities were great! Again, the compost in a bag was a hit. I am struggling with how to reach one boy, He didn't want to participate in anything we did. He stayed with the group, so at least he wasn't wandering off. Building the worm jar was awesome. I found the *perfect* area to collect the pebbles, sandy soil, rich soil, and dead leaves. We layered the jar, it was beautiful! Then we went to dig for worms... no luck! We looked for them until it was time to clean up and head down for pick up. I was going to bring the jar home and find some worms in my small compost pile and bring it back. Lauren and one of the kids flipped a couple of rocks in the picnic grove and they found 2!! Popped them in the jar, gave them some water and compost, and took a few pictures to share with them next week. I won't show the photo I have of the worms, in case anyone is squeamish. But here is the jar itself :)

I'd love to say today is a day off and rest but it is not. I have laundry and housework. Gary and I are going to run to get some seed starting soil for some veggie seeds. End of the month stuff here and catching up on bills and emails. Yikes, I am pretty tired thinking about it!

We did well, he's very cute and just 8 years old. Yesterday he beat me in Junior Monopoly and today in Battleship, he's very smart!
Don't ever play Poker with him! :D

Well I did it--I bought a new Canon camera with wifi and 24.2 megapixels( my other was only 18) that can still use my lens. I will be able to send pics through my phone...so excited i think this will really come in handy in Germany. I paid extra to get it on Thursday rather than next week. Ill be able to play with it before we leave on our summer trip North.
That is sooooo awesome!!!! (My DSLR is 10 mp -- ancient!). Getting it early is a smart idea, have a blast playign around with it.
Last night at the music night hubby bought a cake for me and everyone/band sang HBday, I was embarrassed it's fine for everyone else but I don't like it for me.
Hey you can't do that, slip in that it was your birthday. We want to make a small fuss if we can! Hope you had a fab day!
:birthaydog:
I have a book rec for you: The Woman They Could Not Silence
I have rec'd it here before and will keep on doing it. It was *so* good. it is also a true story but written like a novel. Fascinating, infuriating, and uplifting.
I am going to add your book to my Want To Read list. (phooey-- it isn't on Hoopla or Libby)
yeaaaah, I don't think I am brave enough to take a helicopter ride, esp to a glacier
My foot is getting better every day, thanks for asking! It's a little stiff and sore at the end of the day and I still limp when I am barefoot but no real pain. Yay!
We made it through the nasty weather unscathed. Got about a half inch of rain a little bit of hail and we didn't get the straight line winds a lot of places had. Lots and lots of lightning
That sounds pretty wild!
you and orders ---- hmm ----- I don't know that I've ever met anyone as excited about their job as you are, that's the way it should be. Our two favorite servers at our favorite Key West haunt told us the exact same thing - They work like crazy, but are so darn good at it because they love doing it and it shows. Those kids are lucky to have you.
*blushes* Thank you! And that is true-- you know it when someone loves their job and the feeling is contagious.

Today is Mark's 64th birthday. I have his favorite dinner ready to pop in the oven when I get back home this afternoon.
Happy b-day to Mark! All of these April/May/June birthdays-- my Gary's is Saturday :)
Yes! I've loved purple since I was a little girl and no one else did and my favorite, too is the rich, darker jewel tone
Same here! I love blue, purple, and green but the deep shades of them.
I always leave a disclaimer when I talk about this, I'm not criticizing, it's just not for me.
LOL this makes me chuckle! I feel like I should have a disclaimer taped to my forehead.

They DO belong together!!!! :floorlaugh:
Disclaimer: No.
Agree to disagree. :floorlaugh: :lol23:

Hubs told me there is a porcupine in the yard this morning. Now we have to watch the dogs and make sure they dont find the porcupine.
They are super cute but don't think I'd want one in my yard. Esp with dogs. eep.
I slept in this morning until after 8AM!!!
You sound like you are feeling much better! How did all of the errands go?
I am with Chris in that I don't care for buttons (also goes for stitches, stapes and other 'attachment items'....)
I am different because I LOVE messy stitches and staples. Loose threads have to be tacked down somehow :rotfl:
You always make amazing clusters!
Being on Creative Teams for almost 20 years has had me working with many different styles and themes and has expanded what draws me to a collection. So glad that OScraps has so many designers and so many different styles to chose from. I get excited each month to see all the challenges - from monthly ones to designer's to art journaling... and have learned so much.
yes!! ITA! I still struggle with making traditional pages without paint or mess but if it's part of a challenge or promo, being a cheery o gives me a chance to try it out. (Ok it *forces me* to try it out LOL)

I am loving this conversation about how we are drawn to different elements and styles too!
Poor Hunter he sure had a bad stomach bug and missed a lot of school!
Oh, poor little man! Is this the same bug from when he was on vacation?
Hope its nicer tomorrow for my hike and the railing install. I will work on some month end things here today and get some :laundry: going.
Have a blast on your hike today! My day here is going to be like your yesterday. (wish I was hiking tomorrow!)

would mostly agree about snow and flowers except that every spring the daffodils get snow at some point and I have to share an old LO on snow and roses.
What a pretty LO even if there is snow :p

Hugs to you all!

What a great day you had! :heartpumplove:

Good Morning,
Nothing going on around here today. Wrapping up the books for April for church is about it.
I want to do some more decluttering in the bedroom.
Maybe do some laundry throughout the day.
Might even be a stay-in-the-pjs-day!
Have a great day!

Good Morning Lovely O Family!

I had him send me the photos. I promise there will be a LO at some point.
Cant wait to see!!!!

Do women really rest and take the day off??? I hope you are able to put your foot up some and rest it though. Remember what the doc said, take it easy!!! Listen to me Pot!! Kettle knows!! :giggle4: :hug2:

This sounds blissful. I love the idea of pj day but I can never actually stay in my pajamas. I dont know why.
Yes, I am teaching 4 yoga classes with a little time for pickleball this afternoon.
Sounds like a great plan, stretch before pickle ball and after.

Its raining again. I get to stay home today. Its weird not mentally rushing to leave and prep for cooking. Its crazy. Not sure what I will do with today but I know I need to prep the pizza dough for Fridays dinner. Cant wait to see what the May challenges will be. New AJ next week since it will be May. Scrap day is coming up. WOO HOO!!! Good thing I dont have a job so I can stalk the site for the new LO challenges. :giggle4: Off to get more coffee. I'll pour you a cup Chris!

Wait until your kids have all flown the nest!

Morning, all. I slept in again today... but that was because I stayed up late... until 11AM watching a DVD - Earthquake in New York City... :giggle4: My reward for working with DVDs... I spent a couple of hours in the afternoon moving some of the DVDs around, I decided to color code the DVD inventory with yellow high-lighter for those in the Family room TV stand and pink high-lighter for Series and/or multiple movies in the other FR cabinet. That way I will know where to look them later on. I am taking it easy as I move a few at a time then color code the inventory (which meant a lot of standing as I flipped through the inventory to find them). I was taking breaks to rest the back as I worked on them. No sitting on the floor as most were in slide-out drawers in the office TV stand. Still have more of them to move and color-code... but should be done with those sometime today. Will wait until next week to sit on the floor and get the (new to me) DVDs placed in the office bookcase. Yeah... I am putting them in alphabetical order there so I can find them easier. :floorlaugh: Have to wait on that until I work on May's challenges, etc... Between NSD and the beginning of the new month... I will be too busy to work on the DVDs. With getting side-tracked with the DVDs and strong winds blowing, I did not do any errands but stayed home. I heard from DD#3 that the worse of the winds/tornado yesterday missed her area but hit just north of her in Springfield. She still has power. It was a relief to know that she was okay. Sounds like there will be even more bad weather all over.

@AK_Tracy I LOVE YOUR NEW SIGGY!!! :wow: Love the snowman and the dragon together!!!

@faerywings So glad you got to spent some time with the family before heading off to "work"... sounds like it is more FUN than work!!! Relieved that the foot held up to the challenge. Can't wait to see some of the photos.

BBL... call coming in.

Thank you Kay, the siggy was fun. I really love the dragon and had to use him.
I thought I was doing good with alphabetizing my dvd collection. You've taken it to a new level of organized. Glad youre taking breaks though, can imagine how much work it is to organize.

It dawned on me the other day, I have been here at the O for almost 13 months! I thank all of you for embracing me and making me feel at home the moment I landed. Such a wonderful place and amazing women. I love the encouragement and fun that happens here. Looking forward to many more years with my O family.

That's awesome, Tracy!! Time sure flies, doesn't it? I feel like I've always known you. We are the lucky ones - that you "landed here". :heartpumpred: :heartpumpred:

Hi all,

Just popping in to say hello. It's raining here, too. Also lots of thunder and lightening. We just had a bolt of lightning that I swear hit the back of my house. It didn't, thankfully, but it bolted me out of my office chair. Sounded like it was coming in my office window.

I took a couple of days off and went to Branson, MO to watch my almost 14 year old GS play in a statewide competition. He's in the Honors Orchestra and plays the cello. He's been playing for a couple of years now and is quite good. Their orchestra won first place in every category. We were so proud, watching him/them play that we were bursting our buttons.

Debby @BoatLady congrats on the fab new Canon!! I got a bee in my bonnet a few years ago to go to a Nikon DSLR, sold my Rebel, but honestly, I wish I had it back. You've incentivized me to start using my DSLR again.

Chris @faerywings sounds like your family has been busy as always. I'm so happy that your dad and Scott were able to chat.

Things here on the ranch are popping, too. We have several new tenants down on the lower part of the property and Roger is a busy bee. He just built a "community building" that is covered if anybody wants to have a party. He also put in several coin washers and dryers and a huge vending machine. We were all down there the other night "helping" him fill the vending machine. :ilovechocolate:

I met and had a nice visit with the newest tenant, Maggie. She's a widow, the lady next door to her, Sally, is a widow, too. Ava's fiancé says we should call it "Widows Way". :giggle4::giggle4: Maggie told me she had never felt as safe and secure as she does here. :grouphugyay:

Gotta run - lots to do since today is the end of the month!! EEEKKK How can tomorrow be May 1st?????

Hugs to ALL and XOXO
