It was so weird, I kept waking up last night thinking how nice it will be to sleep in today. I had to keep reminding myself, NO! It's Monday! You have to get up.
:faint:

The weekend went very fast and I am not sure if I got anything accomplished or not. I must admit that I am very glad that 9-11 is over. I put myself on Media Blackout for it. Its just not mentally helpful to me to see it any more. Not that I think we can or should ever forget, but its good to know we can move on. YKWIM? I don't know... I guess I am trying to say that I think that media exploits our pain and I don't want to give them that. OK, I'll shut up now.

What is everyone up to today? I have steam cleaning (yes... again... LOL) and a ton of errands around town. I also have to decide if I want to cook my chicken in the oven or crock pot . Decisions!

Me Me Monday- I am picking up a new book from the library today- Discovery of Witches. It is supposed to be very good. Maybe I'll put my feet up and read for a bit later on.
What will you do today?

Me- I will go to work, and then when I get home, some cleaning/sorting and scrap therapy. I did scrap lots over the weekend, but still have a hot spot that needs cleaning.

Is it me or does everyone have mean vicious mosquito's this year- they are even in my house.

Morning girlies! I'm so excited today, because Mr Gorgeous got to ride in with his good friend which got us both out of bed and me going early!!! So I'm already going! with caffeine!! yipeeeeee!!! (just ignore me...just attribute it all to just being sally!!)

It feels so good to be back in the swing of school and having to manage things better! It's like when you go on a trip, you can get so much done preparing for it because you are so more focused! That's me lately! I love it! And because I'm a bit more prepared, I don't get sick as easily!

So, this just popped into my head. My mom gets really depressed in the fall and winter...it's truly SAD (seasonal affectation disease), but she doesn't seek medical help for it; she just trudges through. This past Friday she said that if she were better prepared for the holidays she wouldn't get as affected! So I'm going to help her get things done sooner. What other ideas do you think would work, besides getting Christmas cards done early and present shopping done early? Just thinking ahead!!

Okay, one more thing I have to share (can you tell the caffeine is working??? Clara, I'm giving you a run for your money!!)...This Thursday, Cora's Worldview class is watching three Star Wars movies (episodes I, IV, & V) all day! I'm going to go and sit in on IV and V to help the teacher out while she teaches her Chemistry class. It's totally going to be very fun!! Watching Star Wars is very fun, but with a bunch of cerebral teenagers (including Cora and her boyfriend!) will be even more fun!! :) Just had to share!!

love you all!!

HEY!! HAVE a great Monday, in spite of yourselves!!!

Me... I'm off to work, pretty much full time all this week ugh! Oh well I keep telling myself that I should be thankful that I have a job at all. So many now that do not! So I should really stop being such a whiner :hurt: You know that I would much rather be here with all of you today!! There is a coolness in the breeze this morning, so I guess that means that Fall is on its way, the leaves are changing and it is so dry here that all the trees are pretty stressed!

Chris - I vote crock pot for your chicken, it always comes out so juicy and tender!

Laurie - hope your work day goes by quickly, good luck with the cleaning and sorting!

Phylis - Get out of that nightshirt and get busy girl!! :whip: (just kidding) Hope you get your chaos sorted out!!

always chatty at the O!!
Good morning ladies.

This afternoon is Addie's first day of Pre-K. She is sooooo excited. I don't love her teacher but I think it will be fine. I just think she's...odd...and I'm not sure if it is just a me thing or if it will bleed into her teaching. On the other hand...it's Pre-K. Addie has 12-13 kids in her class and she's gonna rock it. I wish she were starting Kindergarten this year but she has a late birthday and they don't test here. Oh well. This will be great.

So, I really need to get moving so I can get her clean, do her hair, get her dressed, etc. Fun day. Then afterward I need to get busy on my house. My mom is coming on Wednesday and Derek's brother will get here tomorrow. Should be fun. Derek and his brother are going to the coast for a fishing trip...I'm kinda glad because Derek is always a HUGE brat when his family is around them. He has this habit of thinking it impresses other people when he talks down to me...amazingly enough...it doesn't impress me much. :)

Chris - We don't have cable so we weren't able to watch any 9-11 stuff. I had kind of hoped we could simply because I wanted Ethan to learn a little bit about it if I found the right program...but no-go. Sorry that it is Monday already. Hugs!!

Laurie - I hope you get your scrapping done. And yes...Mosquitoes are awful. I'll tell you...being on antihistamines helps immensely. Take some Claritin or Zyrtec and they won't itch.

WhatNext - I am all about being able to be productive in jammies. Although it is easier to get comfy and not get motivated. Good luck with that.

Sally - You should get her one of those lights (Chris gave me a link once and I forget what they are called) but they supposedly help some. That is a bit rough. I always get a bit stressed like that over the holidays and get easily overwhelmed. :( Have fun hanging out with the kids during the movie. Don't you love unavoidable spying? Love it!! I think I need some sweet tea.

Trudy - That sucks that you have to work so much this week. You could look at the bright side but it still sucks. :) The extra money will be nice though, I'm sure. Hugs!!

Morning all.

Me..I'm still in my jammies and proud of it! I have uh...a few (?) digital downloads to file away and get previews on the folders. I decided to pass on the gym today and relish the time alone here. However, I made up my mind to go downstairs and walk/march around down there for 5 min every other hour. Our house is small but as a 1910 townhouse with a wall taken out, I can actually vary the path a good bit.

Chris: I too had a media blackout and even watched "Diary of a Wimpy Kid' last night.

Phylis: see above (mucho work can still be done in one's bedroom attire!)

Laurie: Does cleaning and sorting EVER end? I've made a good job of the downstairs but the middle floor of our house is just like my own middle. A bit too full. It's back to FlyLady for me this fall.

Sally: Can you help your Mom drop at least on of the 'Christmas musts' from her usual list? maybe you and any siblings can also buy her one of those special SAD lights?

Trudy: I have the a/c off today! yipee. But fall also brings the return of me walking into a unseen spider web. yuck.

ok, time to get to those downloads!

Clara ..same time posting. Yes, I would give Derek one of those 'I'll talk to you later..." looks that we usually reserve for our children! What kind of fish? My dh goes to Alaska for halibut and salmon.

I was late up, but got my behind out the door and ran 3 miles after E and L were on the bus. Now down to some serious creating :)

So, I found out today we probably won't be getting any money back from our deposit. I am furious. We did not trash the house but the owner ais cting like it was demolished. It is just ridiculous. It doesn't help that my husband put off taking care of the little damages until 3 days before the final walk thru. He tried to say he ran out of time...but really he just had too much beer. I am slightly annoyed.

Maureen- Derek gets a lot of those "I'll talk to you later" looks whenever we have people around. He has a huge case of middle kid syndrome...always trying to impress. I don't know what kind of fish they are going for. It is a big group of guys. Not salmon...that's for sure. It will be whatever is in the Atlantic. His brother is coming from Alaska...so not sure what he'll want from around here. We'll see. I'm staying out of it.
