HHB! Can you believe it is June? Where the heck did May run off to?? I feel like I *just* flipped the calendar to May. So now I am in "Crazy Month #2." Two b-days, one anniversary, Fathers Day, end of school. Not too bad....

How was your weekend? It was kind of cold here, only in the 70's. But we had a nice time at my MIL's for Scott's b-day. Yesterday I took Cait and her friend to the lake. The water was like ice, but they swam anyway. brrr!

Today is food shopping, errands, working from home, and if I have time to get outside and garden I am going to do that too.
I also want to do Sue's Spotlight:
Designs by Sue Cummings Spotlight {June 1-7, 2009}
She has some great stuff planned!

Kat- oh, good luck with your laundry. Isn't it "funny" how it seems to multiply?? Be thankful you don't have a tween girl who has to go through three outfits a day until she gets it right
Hope you are all feeling better!

Linda W- Sounds like your picnic turned out perfect! How nice!

Tali- I saw the pics on FB! Ella looked beautiful!

Sandra- hope that you had a super fun time at the park!

Sara I hate when that happens! hugs!

Ona- heres to hoping that you dry out fast!

Hi Dawn and everyone!

Me Me Monday- anyone have anything fun planned for themselves today?

I am going to try my best to garden. You all know how I love that!

Have a great day!!!

Hello ladies:p

We had an absolutely gorgeous weekend here...and today is more of the same but the rain is going to settle back in tomorrow sometime for the rest of the week and it's going to cool back down quite a bit....it was good while it lasted.... yesterday we slept in...in mean really slept in...9 am...that's late for us....and we went to breakfast...back home and did some rearranging...we have 5 bedrooms in our house (two very very small) and I want to make one into an office...with all those grandchildren and our own kids back and forth back and forth....well just have never been able to convert....well none of them have actually lived here for about 14 months....so I am tossing out what was left behind and turning things around...I had two rooms fixed up for my sweet little grandbabies...one sleep room and one play room....they are now combined...since they never play in the play room....they drag those toys all over this house and stay right with us...because we are always playing with them...we love it!!! enough babbling.....I hope everyone had a super weekend!

Chris...you sound super busy..YIKES!! wishing you much luck to get everything done!!!! today and all month!! along with all that posting you going to do too!!!

Clara...saw where your ladies weekend went great...Yay!!

everyone else...hi and have a fantastic day!!!

Good morning everyone! I hope all is well :). We've had 3 gorgeous days in a row here!

I can't stay and do personals this morning, I'm actually leaving the house early, LOL. Still have to feed Davy :).

Hi Chris, LindaW, Tali, Sally, Clara, Sara, Kelly, ME, Ona, Kat, Jos, and anyone who stops in :). Love and hugs to everyone!

A quick drive by ... hello to all my O friends. We are enjoying great weather here too - spent lots of time outside over the weekend at 2 birthday parties. Such fun.

Hope you all have a great day. This is a crazy busy week as we get ready for VACATION!

Love to you all!!

Morning O's! =)

We had a nice weekend. Yesterday we spent the afternoon at a shin dig at the park kicking off the summer reading program and gathering up freebies with about a thousand other people. We were supposed to get this "Go Play! Adventure Omaha" booklet that is for a scavenger hunt across the city, but they didn't have them. The ran a big article in the paper on Saturday, but then didn't have the books. They aren't releasing them until June 22nd. That's half the stinking summer gone. It was a little irritating just because they built it all up for the big kick off this weekend and now we can't do it for another three weeks. And that's assuming we get one of the only 5000 books they are releasing. But oh well. We still had fun. But it was hot and we were pooped when we got home.

I stayed up a little late chatting and scrapping (thanks Sally), so I was glad when Ben slept in a little. Now he's off at daycare while I conquer my to do list. A butt-load of laundry, a bunch of cleaning, the grocery store, a little video project for my aunt...and if I'm a good girl, I'll let myself start the new Percy Jackson book. =)

I have to take a second to vent. I have been wanting to move out of this house since our child was born. My husband is a commitmentphobic. So we never really have gotten anywhere because he's always had big reasons not to. Now we are truly in a spot where we can move and we can move into a decent house and he's driving me CRAZY. We were almost all settled on building in this one neighborhood and building a house that is a little over kill for us in terms of space. But I thought that way we have room if we need to take care of family, we can have guests stay, host parties...and it would all be o.k. Now, yesterday we walked through more models, and he likes this house that the main floor is not much bigger than what we have now. It's bizarre and frustrating to me. I'm about ready to give up and just start demolishing our house on my own. Either it's going to end up being a place where I'm happy living or it'll be ready to sell...one of the two. =) O.k. /vent

Let's see...personals...
Chris - We have crazy months in Nov. - Jan. There are probably a good 10 - 15 birthdays in there, as well as multiple anniversaries and the holidays. So hopefully, your crazy month goes well. =)

Linda - Have fun reorganizing. If I ever find my floors, I might be able to reorganize. =)

Dawn - Hi!!! Have a good day at work!

I'm off to start my to do list. Have a good day everyone and hopefully we'll see each other later today and tomorrow and the server doesn't bring us down. =)

Good morning ladies. It feels like forever since I have checked in. My wpmen's retreat was awesome. We had a guest speaker who is amazing. She is a pastor's wife and her story that led up to that point in her and her husband's life was amazing. Then when her two sons were old enough she decided to start doing foster care. Her and her husband agreed not to do any adopting. Her and her husband found themselves accidentally adopting 8 kids. 2 families of 4 children. As if her story wasn't enough she was so funny and sweet. She gave me hope that mothers can also love their children and not be enablers. That in itself was amazing. I think it is so hard to make decisions about how to handle your children when they make bad decisions. It feels natural to try and protect them from themselves but it is not always a mother's job to do that. Sometimes the most you can do is tell them you love them and pray for them. So, needless to say my weekend was awesome. On top of listening to the speaker we also played volleyball, decorated cupcakes and got to know other ladies from the church. It was awesome. Of course the bed threw out my back and I think I am dying. It hurts horribly. But I did win a massage in a silent auction so I'll have to use that soon.

Now I have to get a lunch together on Sunday. We are doing an all you can eat taco feed to raise money for realy for life. I am hoping that we get lots of people there and raise lots of money. We just have to figure out how to get people to show up. I am excited about it though. It will be a lot of fun. I want to feed at least 100 people. We arre asking for $7 a person with a maximum request of $25 for those large familes. I really hope it will be successful.

Well, I need to hurry up to get some dishes done before I have to leave so some quick personals...

Chris - I am so glad you guys had so much fun this weekend. I hope your weather gets really warm soon. Our weather is so uncharacteristic, We usually have lots of rain still. Last year we didn't really have summer. Spring lasted forever and turned right into fall. It was horrible. So, it looks like this year is making up for last year. June is not too crazy for me except for the jumping out a plane thing which has me scared out of my mind. Eeeeeek!!

Linda - That is exciting that you get to do some reorganizing of your house. Have fun finding out all the ways you can use yourhouse now that it is not filled with your own children.

okay...I am out of time. I'll be back soon.

hey all... quick hello from me... we had a great time yesterday... not real happy with my sunburn, guess I didn't apply enough sunscreen! I gotta make lunch, but wanted to stop in and say hello!

Hey kids...I have to get started on my June posting challenge that chris just gave us!! everyone is in by default!! LOL!!!! off to the gallery I GO!! yay!!!

but before i go, i just wanted to check in and say HEY!!! We are taking our first week of vacation for our summer...there will be a total of three weeks for the kids that they will get to party with absolutely no school...the other 9 weeks, they have to do math, grammar and an intensive writing course. Otherwise, we have camps galore!!! Have you noticed that if you have a gob of money, your kids can be in a camp every week in any type of genre that there are!!! omgosh!! Too bad we dont' have any spare money!! LOL!!! But my kids are doing art camp (drawing for emma and quentin, fashion design for cora), music camp (musical theater for cora and possibly lillian..., rock band camp for cora and quentin), then when i'm off to alaska, cora is having stargate camp that she and her cousins concocted!! that's where they go over to her cousins' house and watch stargate...every ounce of it...the first movie, all 10 seasons, then the last two movies!! I kinda wished I could do it, too, but i'm thinking after two days of constant tv, i don't want to be around any children!! LOL!!!!!!

And we are instigating our "country club" again, where we have a set time every week that the kids' friends can all come over and swim and eat and play from 2-5 every wednesday. i think my sil will be bringing her "little sister" from big brothers big sisters...we'll see how many kids we have this year!!

*whew* I'm thinking my kids will not be sitting around saying "I'M BORED!!!" this year...at least that is my goal! right now Emma and cora are playing rock band and quentin was skateboarding...i'm not sure where lil is...probably watching "shaun the sheep" in my room...heehee!!

So on our little vacations, we are joining the rest of Houston to visit all of the museums and the zoo...hopefully it won't rain on Wednesday when we are supposed to go to the zoo...we'll see. tomorrow we are off to the Health Museum. it is SOOOO worth the membership! Thursday we are going to the Children's museum. We haven't been there for years. It got a little bit hard when Lillian was trying to learn to walk, so i just didn't ever take the kids. They have been after me for several years now to go back. So...luckily we got a free pass from my sil (who gets free stuff all the time for our church...so cool!!)

omgosh...quentin just walked by me and said "I"M BORED!"!!! The local school district isn't even out yet! omgosh!!! LOL!!!!! time to clean up his room, huh? that's what my mom always said.

okay...enough about me and mine...(btw, have to get my posts in...sorry in advance!!)

Chris, can you get groceries for me, too?? I haven't been to the store in a while!! I can tell, too, cause everyone complains about there being NOTHING to eat...LOL!! Glad Scott's bday party was fun!!! hugs to all the campbells!! :)

ohhh Linda how fun about converting rooms and having fun playtimes with your grandbabies!! sounds wonderful!! enjoy your day today!!

Hey Dawn!!! Hope Davy got a good breakfast and wasn't naughty eating something else important!! heehee!! have a wonderful day!!!

ohhh Mary Ellen, you always have the most fun weekends!! I loved the comment about Javier holding the pinata over the kids!! totally awesome!! :) enjoy today!!

Sara, I had fun chatting and sorta scrapping last night! :) did you see my fb comment about technology????? the fb photo uploader stopped working for me too!! omgosh!! whats up with that?????

Btw, tell your hubby to use the christmas tree rule...when you walk into a house, if you immediately see your christmas tree up in a certain place, it's your house!!! you can do it!! it'll work...you guys will find the best place for both of you...I feel it in my gut! :)

Hi Clara!!! Ohhhh your retreat sounds just heavenly!!! Makes me want to take off on one again, too...i may have to get something together for the women at my church...thanks for the inspiration! yay!! have a great week!!

Ohhh Sandra, soo glad it was fun...even if there was a little extra sun!! Just an excuse to get your mr gorgeous to put aloe vera on it!! :) hugs to you today!!

since sally started it I think i'll go a little crazy with the daily o's posting craze before heading off to the gallery...

Dawn - I hope you got to work early. I always have a big plan to get places early but it never happens. Go figure.

ME - so glad you are finally having great weather. Whoohoo!! The east coast always has great weather before we do. I hope it sticks around for awhile now.

Sara - Good luck with the house situation. It is hard not being on the same wave length with hubby. I hated house hunting and settled on the house dh picked and I hate it. The layout makes no sense and it is so hard to keep organized. One day we'll figure out something different but for now I have to figure out how to make it work. A good start would be the garage that my husband has taken over and trashed. We'll see how that goes.

Sally - sounds like you have a great summer set up for your kids. They will definately be busy busy. You are going to have a blast in Alaska. When are you going?? And did you figure out a way to hang out in WA for a bit or are you going directly to AK?? It is so unbelievably gorgeous up there. If you have the opportunity to go on a day cruise and see some glaciers do it. We did a half day cruise and it was awesome. We just drove out to Whittier nd picked a place and gave them money and went. If I had it to do again I would have done a whole day instead of a half day cruise though. If you are there in July around the 4th there is a fair in Girdwood called Forest Fair (although last year it got cancelled because the town was sick of people trashing their town). It was a lot of fun. That is the town my BIL and SIL live in. It is absolutely gorgeous there.

Oh and yes...the retreat was awesome. I had a little freak out about it right before I left and bought a bunch of junk food to take with me. I'm not sure what exactly I was freaked out about but I was. It was awesome. If you ever have a weekend like that at your church and have the money to fly her out you would love our speaker. She lives in Eugene, OR so she'd need flown out and stuff. She talked about her life and also different women in the bible. I am sure there are lots of phenomenal women that would make awesome guest speakers but she was just so great...she would have everyone in tears but then would turn it to funny and get it lightened up real quick. It sounds like having a great guest speaker makes all the difference for those retreats. It was aweome. Oh, also...for a fundraiser at the retreat for scholarships and to get the cost down for the next year they had a silent auction that was a lot of fun. And one last thought...they got two massage therapists to come out and do 10-20 minute chair massages. It was fabulous.

Well, that is it...I was going to head off to the gallery but I am having a big problem with my shoulder/back and I need to get off the computer. I'll have to go there tomorrow or later today even.

Hi everyone! glad to hear everyone had a nice weekend! It's Tuesday morning and sunny once again and I am at work so nothing too exciting!! I am having lunch with one of my DIL today however, it was her birthday on the weekend so I want to catch up with and shout her lunch. Apart from that I am organising a small 'surprise' dinner for DH who turns 50 next week.......my birthday falls a couple of days after but I am not celebrating mine this year!! LOL!

I have heaps to do so best get going but before I go:

Chris - that sounds like fun, working in the garden! you can come and work in mine later if you like! I love my garden, I have lots of faeries, wizards, dragons and little imps living in parts of it and I love to go visit them to see how they are doing! :) When my eldest grandson was 2yrs old he was out staying with us one weekend....I had put in a new wizard and dragon down near the garden pond........ DH snuck out and lit some tea-candles I had placed around them.......I asked Brodie if he wanted to see the dragon and of course he said yes...... we took him down the path in the moonlight and when we came around a large boulder there they were! surrounded by the flickering candle light the wizard and dragon looked really magical!!! little Brodie just stared in wonder! oh, I'll never forget the look on his face, too bad I didn't have a camera on me!!! of course he wanted to touch it so he quietly toddled up to the dragon and then bent over stroked the dragon very gently........it was truly a magical moment!!! ok, enough ramblin' LOL!

LindaW - thats sounds like fun, remodelling your rooms! my grandkids were the same, always dragged the toys from one place to another, now that they are older they always put everything back before they leave which is really nice!

Dawn - hope you had a nice day at work! and yes, it did seem like it was raining for 40 days and nights at one stage!!! the sun is out though and hopefully will stay for a while.

ME - ooooh, how exciting, getting ready for a vacation.....hope you have a great time!!!

Sara - stick to your guns about getting the larger house!! DH built the house we are in and when were drawing up plans he was going for a smaller one as well......I said NO....I wanted a larger place so that when were not speaking to each other we wouldn't be tripping over each other!!! LOL!! our house is open plan with two large bedrooms and the living areas are large with a really bit front verandah.....I love it when it rains somedays, I can just sit out on the verandah and watch it all. Plus, when the kids/grandkids come to visit/stay there is ROOM for people to wander and to sit awhile if they need some time to themselves to relax or whatever.

Clara - I am glad you had fun at your retreat! you were sounding a little nervous prior to going so I am glad you enjoyed yourself!

Sandra - ouch! about the sunburn! I am not a beach goer anymore but I well remember all those times that I was seriously sunburned when I was younger. Even working outside, I sometimes forget to put the sunscreen on and of course pay for it!!

Sally - LOL! about 'its time to clean your room' comment. My Mum used to say that to me and my brother when we were young or else she would find other 'jobs' to do......like washing walls, cleaning out the garage!!! LOL! we soon learnt NEVER to say we were bored!!!

Well that's me for today.......in between work I will pop into the gallery to leave some love.....catch you all there!!! nighty night! xx

Awww, Ona, you should celebrate every b-day! You deserve it, you earn a big ole celebration LOL! How sweet about your garden and your grandson :).

My day went very well, thank you! It was very hot here, 98 and sunny!

Happy evening everyone! Don't know about y'all but I had a fairly good day :). I actually got to work early for once, LOL.

Clara-your retreat sounds awesome!!! Glad you had a good time :).

Chris-Whew, you're making my head spin with your busyness LOL! I don't know how you do it all!

MaryEllen-woohoo! almost time for your cruise!!! I hope you have tons of fun and take lots of pics to show us and scrap!

Sara-the scavenger hunt thing sounds cool! I hope that you and your DH start seeing eye to eye re the house hunting! If we still didn't have our 2 kids living at home we'd love to downsize to 2 bedrooms with a den/guest room, our house is way too big.

Sandra-ouch to the sunburn! I hope it doesn't blister and peel!

Sally-your energy and happiness is so awe-inspiring :). Your kids must be so well-rounded and happy! I'm truly amazed by you!

Ona, LindaW hope your night/day was good!

Hugs to all, I need to try and get some layouts uploaded and some commenting done...not sure if I will tonight, I'm kinda tired. But I'll try :).

Night all!

Wish that I had had a better Monday!

Yesterday was a public holiday over here so I was looking forward to a 3 day weekend but my DD got sick on Friday night with everything going south and north fairly quickly after being ingested. So needless to say my day was spent doing a whole lot of fun cleaning! And then last night shortly after going to bed my son began to throw up too. So heaps of fun over here :-x
