Day Three of the "It's Supposed to Rain Today" train. Although, it really *does* look like it is going to rain. My goodness, I hope so. pleasepleaseplease
How was everyone's weekend?
I was able to get a lot of stuff unpacked and put away. Cait and Tom put a bunch of boxes in her room for the engagement party in October (probably). I think we are going to have it at the fire dept as long as we can get a date held. The way Tom's mom would like it if it were at her house doesn't seem like it is what the two of them want it. All we will have to do is pretty much copy the playbook we just ran, only easier since they want it to be a potluck.
I will call my dad soon to see what dates the firehouse is open and then have him coordinate with Cait.

GUESS WHAT!!! It is raining!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!
My plants are gonna be sooooo happy!!!

Aside from unpacking and packing yesterday, I tried to desperately scrap a page with the pics from the day before. I am just *stuck* and gave up. I have one LO with three different versions and I am not thrilled with any. I gave up and spent an hour on the darn puzzle-- another ~10 pieces placed so I am still on track to finish in October LOL

Gary are I are off the LLMD this morning. He has been feeling awful. She never called with any results of my bloodwork so I am not sure how that came out. But darn, I feel good-- not Lyme-y at all. I worked my butt off at the party and sure, I was tired at the end of the day but I was still able to function yesterday. That would have been impossible a few years ago. Gary noticed that my speech has gotten all mixed up but I have a feeling that is more because I have so many thoughts zipping around in my head. Been a lot going on in the last 6 months ;)

xoxoxo!!!

@tanteva hahaha!! That Boom! gif is how I feel most days.
I noticed farther down the thread that you finished-- Yippeee!! And your brain is still intact? Even better!!
Hope you can relax for the rest of the vacation.

@BrightEyes wow, that is huge- deleting things that you know deep down you won't use but want to hold on to just in case. Really amazed at how much you are getting done!

@LSlycord I love the title of your scrapbooks <3 I really should look into printing some of my LOs. Cait and Tom looked through my engagement/wedding albums yesterday and it was a lot of fun. Even if she mocked me on hour clothes and hair- c'mon it was the 90s! But I should get some of mine off of the computer someday.
LOVE your resolution

@bcgal00 that is soooo awesome that you are going to go to Alaska again! I hope that everything falls into place and that gives you something wonderful to look to. You all need and deserve that very much.
Sounds like each day you are feeling better and able to do a bit more- whew!

@Cherylndesigns but it's *not* fun to be the shorty! Bwuhahaha Scott got a really funny group picture at the end of the night and I am jumping with my arms up in the back of it - hah

Eva-- another great meme

BTW: If any of you are on Twitter, I follow "Animals Being Jerks" and it is one of the funniest feeds ever. Not sure if they are on FB or not. Eva's meme made me think of it, I had been wanting to share that for my animal lovers here

@taxed4ever I would be so much more scared of an elk than a bear. Holy cow, they are huge! LMBO at this photo of the one in the crosswalk! The Crab Fest sounds like a great time.
I wish I could send you the sunshine we had but I can't cuz it's raining (more happy dancing) :D:D:D

Kay- that is how I am feeling with the gas prices going down a little bit too! Yes! Enjoy your salad!!

Eva:
I have a math problem for you all. It took me 4 days to fix the pantry. That's 4 days for one square meter. Now I have 153 square meters left to clean. At what date will my whole house be clean?

You know the answer to this. *I* know the answer to this. It does *not*-- I repeat, does not -- involve math!!!!

hugs to youall!

Good morning ladies. Quick one from me this morning. Back to work. Someday I will retire but honestly probably wouldn’t be a good time right before Syd leaves for school. We worked on packing, ran to Home Depot and got some new containers for dorm room. One of these is going to hold her soccer ball and a basketball and some shin guards. So maybe she will do some intramural sports. I think she would like it.

I’ll be back with personals after a bit but @faerywings i am so very glad that you feel so good. I remember when Lyme was kicking the whole family’s butt. If only Gary could feel better.

Yes, it will be another quick in and out for me, too. Will be back to to copying and deleting files again today... now that I have more DVDs. Got a notice that there is a Win10 update waiting to happen. UGH!! Concerned that the update might cause the computer to crash so will postpone having it happen as long as I can. But that puts the pressure back on to get more files copied and off the computer.

We are under a heatwave warning again as the temps have been over 100*F the past 3 days and may be 100*+ for the next 3 days... plus the ozone readings are high so advising those with health problems to stay indoors.

Good morning ladies. I will be in and out of here quickly. I have to shower and get ready to head out to a travel agency soon. We checked online and there isn't much left but we might get lucky and can book Alaska for August. We saw a few online but it depends how quickly the cruiselines update their sites. If not available then we will wait until next summer. Then we will continue on with our mini WA trip in a few weeks.

@faerywings Glad you are feeling so well. Yes your plants should be happy with the rain as ours are. We got a sprinkle last night. Hope G is soon feeling better. It must be so infuriating and exhausting to feel poorly for a long period.

@BrightEyes Good luck with the continuing file moving. I need to get back to doing mine soon. I have been doing a bit here and there, knowing it will take weeks for me to complete. Ugh 100...we are not quite that hot, we've been in the low/mid 90's.

@LSlycord Sounds like the school stuff is coming along well. As for retirement, all I can say is that I love it. I am as busy as I want to be and there is no stress. When your time comes I hope you feel the same sense of relaxation and contentment.

I am getting out of here so I can go get ready. With any luck we book one of the possible few remaining balcony suites for mid to late August. Jen is so excited about this gift we are giving her. What a lovely birthday gift for her :)

Good Morning everyone! The sun is trying very hard to come out for a while today. I am trying to cheer it on!! The house is quiet this morning as DH is back to work and not crashing and banging around outside LOL. He was very busy yesterday with fixing a few of the shingles on the roof that were curling up a bit. Got a new gutter piece to divert the water away from them too. Then washed the front room window as a bird crashed into it the other day, but good that no dead bird was found anywhere on the property! Oh and while I was outside doing some weeding a huge eagle flew right over me and sadly had a huge bunny in its claws :( . I know the circle of life and everything, but still it was disturbing. I am hoping to get some scrapping done today and then mess around in my craft room for a bit. I changed my hair appointment so that I could get it done closer to our leaving for Ottawa and the only time I could get was for this Wednesday. So I will not be able to go hiking darn it! It is supposed to be nice weather and it was a hike that is very close to us. Oh well I had to take what I could get. Only 10 more sleeps!!

@faerywings - So happy that it is raining for you today! Your plants will be very happy! Yes the Elk are huge and have taken over the little town. They aren't afraid of anything and even putting up 8-10 ft fences doesn't stop them they just jump right over. They show up at MIL and FIL's almost everyday. Leave their calling cards and move on. YUCK!! They are protected too, so not much you can do about thinning the herd. Hope you can find your mojo and get the layout done with the photos from the party! I would love to see it! Happy to hear that you are feeling so good these days! Sure hope that your Gary can start feeling better!

@LSlycord - Yup Rae is right! Retirement is the best job you can have!! I love it too! Although most days I wonder how I ever found the time to get everything done like I did when I was working LOL.

@BrightEyes - Oh those darn Windows updates!!! Hope you can manage to hold off on that until you are done with all of your copying and deleting! Wow those temps are really high! Glad you have AC so you can stay cool while doing all of this work on your computer!

@bcgal00 - I will keep my fingers crossed that you can get to go on your Cruise in August!!! How exciting will that be?! An outside balcony would be wonderful and yes such a great birthday gift for your Jen!! She will be thrilled I bet!! Going to Washington will be so nice too!

@tanteva - Wow you did it!! You got it all organized and it looks amazing! WTG!!! want to come over and organize mine now too??
Ok I have been face timing with Heather and boys for the past half hour and poor Heather has just about had it with Hunter!! He is being a grumpy little man and not behaving very well. He needs an attitude adjustment and Heather needs a break from it all. Hope tomorrow is a better day for everyone! I am in need of more caffeine and then get on with my day. Have a good one everyone!

I love transformation @tanteva. What an accomplishment!

@bcgal00 I didn't realize that the cruise could possibly be this August! Wow! Wouldn't that be something! My cousin and his wife just returned from an Alaskan cruise and it looked amazing! Totally a bucket list item for me. Can't wait to find out if it is this summer or next once you return from the travel agent. And I am sure that Jen is over the moon! Your description of retirement sounds amazing. Hopefully sooner rather than later...but probably not until after Syd has a year under her belt and I'm a little more used to life around here without her. Of course, about that time, Shaun will leave and the nest will really be empty.

@BrightEyes be careful with that heat! That is nothing to take lightly. Glad you have plenty to keep you busy in the house with the DVDs.

Good afternoon/early evening here,

Now I know why I stay up so darned late. It's been crazier than usual around here today. Lots of ins and outs and then it got really bad. My DD Steph had a pretty bad car accident today! Her first words were "I'm ok, Mom" and I KNEW something was coming. She was going to lunch - she works in a busy shopping mall and some guy T-boned her going about 60 MPH. We're all very shaken up still and now that she's home, she's suffering PTSD!! But the important thing is she's ok! Her new Chevy Equinox is totaled We told her that cars can be replaced, lives can't be. She's still understandably upset about her car. He hit her so hard that the airbag deployed, and her driver's side is totally collapsed that she had to climb over the console to get out the passenger side. Her glasses flew in the back and so did her phone and she can hardly see w/o her glasses. The other driver got mad because she hadn't called the police. She told him she couldn't find our phone, let alone her glasses. I'm posting a picture and that white thing in the front is part of her airbag - so scary to see part of it hanging out the front of her car. It was definitely the other driver's fault (not that it matters) but the police wrote him a ticket on the spot! He started yelling at her immediately and trying to blame her and he knew he didn't stop and broadsided her.

Stephs-Car.jpg

Thanks for letting me share this - I'm pretty shaken up after this. Good news - Asher wasn't with her! She's her mother's daughter - the minute she got out and retrieved her glasses and phone - she started taking pictures! This is just one of the ones she sent. It's hard to tell, but that's the Sheriff's car coming up - she said they got there extremely fast. That mall is terrible - I used to go there a couple of times a week and I always said there was going to be a horrible accident there - it's just so dangerous and where she was hit is about the most dangerous place!

Chris @faerywings I can only tease you about being the shortest, because I'm also the shortest in my whole family. It stinks! I wait until Chuck or one of the taller kids comes over to help me with things that are up high. Chuck's pretty tall and all the grandkids are - Braden's at least 6'3". Glad you got some rain - we got rain last night and it smelled SO good. My flowers and plants have taken a beating in this heat and they really perked up after a couple of hours of rain.

Kay @BrightEyes we're having heat advisories here too! It's just miserable, but we DID get some rain last night - about 2 hours of it.

Gotta go - I DID do something for me - I walked on my treadmill for 20 minutes again today. I'm doing so well with my walking - it's just too darned hot and rocky to walk here now. So, I can walk no matter what the weather is.
XOXO
