CHEERY O
hey hey :)
Trying to put a good face on this morning.
I am tired and still very sad. We had a busy weekend, and I have a super-busy week coming up. Thank you for all of your hugs. I know it sounds so stupid of me to be so affected by a death of someone I don't know. I just hurt for the kids and the parents and family of the boy. The girlfriend is in "critical but stable condition." I hope that she will be ok.

The kids in this town sure have had their share of tragedy. I remember when we first moved up here, way before I had kids, that people talked about the WM Curse. Not a real curse or anything, but just that supposedly a kid dies every year. I am not sure if it has been every year, but it sure seems like it. ugh, it just makes me want to wrap my kids in bubble war and super glue them to the sofa. YKWIM?

Since I am being a total downer, how about some gratitudes???

Today I am grateful for:
- my kids who are so willing to put up with me as I hug them tight during these times, They let me cry on their shoulders.
- going food shopping with money in my wallet!!!!!
- My dad is coming up tomorrow to help me paint my bedroom that has been spackled since 2003 and never painted!!!! (Maybe this will inspoire me to finish painting my bathroom that I was working on when I put myself into preterm labor with caitlyn in 1998!!! )
- My mom who is cooking me up some dinners so i don't have to cook this week since I am going to be cleaning/working T-F.

Me Me Monday:
I hope to work on some of the new April Monthly Challenges that were just posted. Really great ones (as always!)

Morning Chris- more cyber hugs for you- ?

say hey to everyone that popped in over the weekend and meg I am going to guess your secret has to do with a house.

Super warm here with a cold front coming through as the day goes on- so how will works heating/cooling handle it- can't tell, so will dress in layers as usual!

<3 Chris - Hugs!!!!! The curse thing is kind of silly, because I think every high school has that :-\ The HS where I went freshman year has lost over nine former students to iraq and Afghanistan. Yet, none of the other HS in the area have lost any.

Laurie - nope not a house! We definitely wont even physically look until the next credit quarter. We're going to have to get pre-approved for our loan before looking, because most of the homes in the development are foreclosed.... but last night we found several more to add to our list of potential places. We expanded our search into Oakhurst, which is the nearest "larger" unincorporated town... and found a house over 2000 sq ft with an enclosed pool - so an indoor pool!!! Only like $80k and it looks like it's in AMAZING condition!!! I think I want to keep to the development nearest the casino, because it's a country club one and I like all the perks. Although living in Oakhurst I'd feel a bit less like I'll need to carry a shotgun while walking around my property...

Well it's not even 6am and I'm awake. Ugh. We went to bed early for me... we were both tired and not feeling good because of allergies. Now I'm awake because of allergies!!!! So, I think I might do some promoting of the mega kit giveaway I'm doing on my blog this week. Blergh. I don't feel like it... I want to go back to sleep!

Today we need to go do stuff to fix my license renewal... I kind of waited too long... I thought I had plenty of time bc of the way the DMV letter made it sound... so I'm probably going to have to have a temporary license for a month or so, according to Jeff. I'm kind of worried because we're going to Reno in early May, and I don't know if they'll accept my expired photo ID + temporary license when it comes to $3 yard long margaritas...

chris that is just so devastating :( and it DOES hurt to hear about kids getting hurt/killed its a very sad things...and it is intensified when its so close to home....i hope the girl gets better soon!

im extremely tired....was working out in the garden yesterday so sore...and sunburnt! yikes! wish i could take a nap but i gotta hit up the grocery store and get a few things.....its a windy day and cold so i wont be working outside at least its my day to REST then back to work tomorrow!!!

Good morning ladies!

Chris it sounds like you have some awesome parents too! Nice that they help you out like that, lucky you. (Mine are in Warren County so they're actually probably closer to you). Think about how good you are going to feel when this all gets done - yippee!!!!

Laurie - did you get to do any of your gardening this weekend? I immediately thought Meg's news was that she was pregnant but she clarified that so maybe it is a house - how exciting for her!!! Hope the weather gets better quicker today so you can "unlayer" faster :)

I've got a lot of things to do today and 1 involves doing a couple of LOs for a designer on her new kit - yup, you heard it right!! I'm so excited!!! She had a note on the DST (and the kit didn't look like a free one bc there were a lot of those there). So anyway, it was one of those one time deals so I sent the girl a msg and basically said I'm new and I've done one LO and here it is at my Oscraps gallery and one day when I get good at this I hope I can do a LO for her. Well, she emailed me back with links to the kit and said my message was sweet and here is her deal - the LO must have all her stuff in it, etc, etc. !!! Cool, huh? I'm so excited!!

Have a great day!!!!

Suzy

Morning, girlies!!! Happy Monday!!

I typed in a whole post on Saturday, but lost it and couldn't bring myself to retype it!! I know, I know...bad sally...but you know how it is!! :)

We had a great lazy weekend, full of family, fun and I added a little quilting!! :) I've been working on a scrap quilt of big scraps and had the top sitting in my bedroom for a while. So Friday I pin basted it (ugh...hate that!! on my knees on the tile floor pinning all over the quilt!!) and Saturday it took about 4 hours to quilt it. It was soooo fun. I have my laptop next to my sewing machine and I plugged my earphones in (so i could hear over the sewing! LOL!!) and watched episode after episode of Bones. I'm halfway through season 5! I adore Netflix! AND my quilt got quilted and it's soooo sweet and cute. I'll be blogging about it in the next few days!

Yesterday, we had a ladies luncheon at a girl's house after church, then I came home, waited for my pedicurist (love that she comes to the house...can you say "SPOILED????"), then had my pedicure and then our dear friends came over for dinner. I overate, but we had a fantastic time. We are trying to get together every Sun evening for dinner. Sounds like a lot, but switching off meals makes it easier, and when it's swimming time, we'll just eat out by the pool and throw all the kids in. Good times, good times!!

Today, again, I'm taking it fairly easy (i know that term is relative for me...). I have to take Cora to work here in a few minutes so that I can take our car in to check the battery. That will involve a lot of embroidery while I wait! (love being a little productive!! LOL!!) Then get the kids going on their history lists for the week, gymnastics in the afternoon, and probably some quilting the in between times. I cut out my mom's quilt, so I'll probably do a few blocks for that. We'll see... I like to keep my options open. I really really need to clean out my bedroom since the youth are having a garage sale next weekend, and I want to make room for the treadmill (or elliptical machine) that Mr Gorgeous is buying me on the 15th. :) :) :)

Chris, double Clara-eye-popping hugs, hun!! Tragedy is such a hard thing (boy, that's the understatement of the year!!). I adore your grats, though...yep, you are inspiring even when you aren't feeling so great!! Amazing woman, you!! How was your craft show??

Laurie, ohhhh I don't know how you girls live up north....So glad I married a Texas boy who won't leave!! LOL!!! enjoy your day, hun!

Meg, can't wait to hear about your exciting news in a few weeks!! And your house hunting sounds so fun!! I'm never moving...too much stuff!! Yikes!! LOL!! But I've lived with my in-laws twice for long periods of time, and I know how wonderful it feels to have our own place to ourselves!! You will love it!!

Kristy, have fun at the grocery store and pick up some waffles for me, please! LOL!! So glad you got to do some awesome gardening this weekend with SUN!! Yipeeee!!!

Suzy, ohhhh how exciting about the one Kit CT!!! That is such as great way to get your feet wet!! I also just LOVE love love doing challenges and "lifting" LOs to get my scrapping going!! You will love it! and that sweet CT call looks good, too!! Enjoy!!!

*Waving to everyone who comes after!!*

Love you all...Have a WONDERFUL MONDAY!! It's your fresh start, remember!!! :)

Vicki!!!!! LOL!! Mr Gorgeous just did that two weeks ago. And he was almost picked...missed it by one person! *whew* Enjoy, babe!!!

Thanks Meg - I did see that and that's a great offer, isn't it? Very generous of her! I'll bet she gets a load of emails!

Morning ladies... a quick fly by for me today and then its off to work, I have to put in a full shift today Ugh!!! My feet will not like this!! :rain: again today, but who cares, I 'm inside. My MG is in charge of dinner tonight so horray, no cooking for me!!

Chris - Sorry that you are still so sad!! to you and I hope you feel better soon! I think that it is time sweetie to get that painting done!! LOL How nice that you are getting some help with that!

Laurie - I hope it stays warm for you and that cold front moves off somewhere else!

Meg - Hope things get done quickly for your licence, you wouldn't want to miss out on those Margaritias .
Sally - You are so busy it makes my head spin!! I will have to show you the quilt that my sister made for me for my 50th birthday, it is beautiful and I love it so much, so much work and she did it just for me, so it makes it even more special!

Kristy - Ouch on the sunburn, but at least you finally got to get outside in your garden!

Susy - So excited that you get to do some CT work, its so much fun!

Vicki - Jury duty - how exciting!! I always wanted to be on jury duty, but can't because my hubby is with the RCMP. I got summoned to be on a murder case once, but couldn't do it... I was very disappointed.

Nana Linda - Hi, miss you here !!

Hope everyone has a great Monday! Off to work

Hey ladies...I'm gonna post real quick but I'll come back for personals later. So, I finally got the new computer set up but am having a heck of a time getting used to a mac...and I DL'd PSE 9 and it is so much different than whichever version I have on my laptop. Once I get the hang of it I'm sure it will be awesome. The computer won't read my EHD though which stinks. I'm not loving that.

This weekend we had a whole night w/o kids. Addie comes back on Weds and Ethan stayed the night at a friend's house. So we went to a friends house and BBQ'd...Kid FREE!!!

Ugh!! Derek is being difficult. We were going to meet for lunch but he decided to eat salad instead so now I have to figure out food. In the process of him deciding this I got to hear him say um...uh...maybe...um...uh...for 5 stupid minutes. And now I don't get lunch because of where I have to meet him. Stinker!!

Okay, gotta go meet up with him. He took my military ID but didn't use it for what he was supposed to and I can't get onto post easily without it. Grrrrrrr! I'm cranky now. Anyway, I will be back for some personals soon. Hugs to everyone!!

so dh leaves friday for his friends wedding in NC.....his plane leaves at 6am.....it takes about 30mins to get to the airport...he's on crack if he thinks im waking up myself and the girls at 4am.....he's gonna have to leave his truck there LOL cause yeah....not. happening. he'll be back sunday afternoonish so its not like he's gonna be gone a long time....he can suck it up LOL

Alrighty...I promised some personals and so I am back. I spent today at the hospital to do lab work for the Red Cross stuff. They have to make sure I'm immune to everything that I could get. Then I got home and made lots of wedding venue calls. Ugh!! Stressful. Ithink the most stressful part is my mom. She has offered to put $5000 towards it and so my sister has to stay in that budget because she has things she will have to be putting her money into as soon as they are married. The problem is that there is no way for her to have a decent wedding at that cost. She has already decided not to have a photographer and is ready to cut a lot of other costs but my mom is very opinionated about her disgust of lavish weddings. So she's making my sister feel like she has to have a cheap wedding...not an inexpensive wedding but cheap. And my sister is getting really frustrated. But that's what weddings are all about...lots of frustration on the road to a day all about the bride before she is part of a marriage.

So...on to personals.

Ju Kneipp - How exciting that you are here. Amazing designer.

Chris - amazing grats!! and I am so glad you are going to the things you are grateful for when you are so sad. I know what you mean about hugging your babies tight when these things happen. I know when my friend Casey died and I went up to the crash site without the kids...all I wanted was to get back to my babies and hold them tight like I may never get to hold them again. These things just remind you that you need to hold on tight to those you love because you just don't know what tomorrow will bring and I think that is what is so depressing about those situations. I know I kept thinking of Casey's mom and how she woke up the day before having a regular day and then her life was shattered and that broke my heart. So, I am so totally understanding your feelings. I'll love on my kids a little extra too this week.

Laurie - how did your day turn out? I hope you were able to balance out the weather changes.

Meg - did you get your license stuff figured out? That stuff is such a pain. I am so glad I can do my renewals online. Yay!! I know your secret!! I love being in the know. Heehee!!

Kristy - I'm glad you are getting some rest after your hard work in the garden. I don't garden but I have been really sore lately. Don't know why. I'd make my husband drive himself too. I do not do mornings...and with kids? Heck NO!!!

Suzy - That is so cool about your kit CT. I hope you have fun with that. Just keep scrapping away and you'll have to start saying no to CT opportunities.

Vicki - I loved being on jury duty. I hope you enjoyed it and got to be a part of the judicial process.

Sally - a lazy weekend? I have a feeling your lazy weekend would be a crazy weekend for me. I love bones. What a great way to especially enjoy your quilting time.

Trudy - you can't do jury duty? that is sucky. I don't know if that makes you exempt here. They just may excuse you if they think it will alter your thinking because of it...or if you have privileged info about that particular case. I don't know though.

Alrighty...I need to start thinking about bed. Tomorrow I hope to figure some things out about the Mac/PC differences.
