WOOOO!!!!!!!!!! :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: IT'S FRIDAY!!! :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:
Even though it technically isn't my Friday, I still like celebrating it!!! I have a NOVEL for you gals today... lots of time on my hands waiting for the dryer...
I know this should go in the Gratitudes thread -- but I want you all to know I love you and totally value our daily Ooo's and friendships!!!!!!! I learn so much from you amazing women, and your encouragement keeps me going!
I'm definitely in a much better mood than Wednesday! Yesterday I baked cinnamon biscotti's, went to the LEO gear store with Jeff, and spent all afternoon/evening trying to list my newest kit & stuff. That takes FOREVER. Emily is doing better, she just tries not to use that leg -- but she's as happy as ever. It's odd, but we're giving her baby aspirin per her weight (thanks Chris!) and once I go to Costco again, I'll get her some Move Free. Riley on the other hand has been having bad allergies (duh, we're what, #3 on the dirtiest air list now?) She's been scratching & rubbing her eyes, so I gave her half a benedryl (sp) tablet (1mg per lb for dogs,) we'll see if that helps. I'll give her more in the morning.
My FIL had a GOOD interview yesterday morning! It's with a company that does cafeteria/catered meals for one of the courthouses. Apparently, the company that does this bought out the company that he used to be a manager at back when they lived in Santa Cruz! So he had great conversations and felt really good!! No idea when we'll hear back.
The gear store was a somewhat bust, they didn't have the shoes Jeff wanted in wide... so we ordered them. I'm going to try and talk him in to getting another pair of boots that are more breathable, because he gets too hot and all those yucky feet issues come up. Which is why we need to get him new boots  The only reason he wants these certain boots is because the toe is in patent leather, so he doesn't have to shine them as much. I just see the patent leather getting scratched too easily, and the reviews say they're not sewn well. Jeff argues that his last pair were ruined because he wore them hunting & that his boss has had the same shoes for 20 years (they've only been around 2.)
So, I guess I'll let him spend $150 on a pair of boots that in a month he's going to be complaining about again, and it'll be an expensive "I told you so!" for me.
I think another reason I've been in such a mood lately is because my university has been making national headlines because their student body president is an illegal immigrant. I had such a hard time working my way through that school, I only qualified for student loans one semester because my mom refused to disclose all her info (she's crazy, remember?) At the university they have two heavily funded departments dedicated to supporting undocumented students and getting them scholarships, grants, financial aid, etc... without any requirements or questions asked, no need to get documented in the slightest bit. I'm just upset that I've always gone the straight and narrow, yet I see others get rewarded for not doing that. I had a 4.0, yet only ever got one $1,500 scholarship! I just don't get it
Today I'm going to try and clean up around the house, and get some stuff done for Thanksgiving (like making the pie dough.) Speaking of which -- Jeff texted me that he has the turkey but didn't walk in with it when he got home. Uh oh.
Right now I'm waiting to go to bed -- I forgot to put the sheets in the dryer, so I have about another 40 minutes.
Personals!
Chris -- Ewwwwwww!!! I hate steam cleaning carpets!!! I hope you survived!!
ME -- Mmm Panera!!! I'm glad you were able to take the break, I totally know how you feel! Teaching took so much out of me, even just doing reading tutoring.
Krista -- I hope you had a great sick day at home!!!! I hope you feel better, being sick sucks -- but I'm totally evening your alone time. I've reached my breaking point on not having enough alone time.
Kat -- Did you get the photos done? I hope you got scrapping in -- that's a lot for one day!
Trudy -- how is your jaw??? are you able to eat yet??? Send some snow my way! We don't get snow at home, but Jeff does at work. They haven't had any yet this year, nor up the road at Yosemite!
Linda -- I hope you survived your day & regained some energy!!
Laurie -- Sheesh! I'm with you on sitting on a log eating butter! My husband's mom's sister's husband's family all have the same heart problem, before their generation none of the men lived past 40. They all have stints now, medical advances! Just keep yourself monitored, you're making great strides at staying healthy!!
Clara -- You are such an inspiration for me
I never would of thought to write those letters, I'm so glad it worked for you!!!! I'm so thankful that you're open and honest about everything, so we can all learn!!! Also, I totally wish you were in California so I could open up that coffee shop with you -- Jeff told me this morning after I did my baking that I need to open a coffee shop! It's always been a little dream of mine to have a crafting shop combined with a coffee shop, like Ellen had a bookstore combined with coffee in her sitcom.
--- OK!!! Time to sign off for now... I'm ready to pass out, I hope the sheets are drying quicker than usual
