SUPRISE!!! Good morning ladies! thought I would start the thread this morning for you, I am just about ready to sit down and relax and wind down after a big day at the office today (in between posting on the forum that is!hahhaha!)..........its 7.42pm downunder and I have just got home. Went to the hairdressers after work so I am feeling a lot lighter!! haha!

The hairdressing visit was a crack up, my hairdresser Jackie and her boss are both getting into digiscrapping so I stayed a little while to show them a few things!! I think it was all as clear as mud to them!!! I think the main thing I wanted to get across to them is to have some type of organisation happening for the kits they are buying etc. Jackie has been posting here at the O so its fun having someone you really 'know' hanging out with you!!!

And talking about organising!! you all sound like you have the cleanest, and well organised households with all of your FLY missions and LindaW, when you have finished decluttering your place you wanna come and do mine!! I'll even pay for your plane fare!!! :)

Sally you sound just so full on it really is tiring just reading your posts!!! !! and Andrea, congrats on your first paper!! woohoo! WTG! and I hear you about the ulcer.......not good at all!!

Chris, hope things settle down with Scott at school and really hope that your shopping expedition went ok!

Clara, that stinks about getting robbed but just LOVE how you have handled it all!! and fantastic about the walking, I really MUST start doing that again!!! maybe as we move into Spring downunder I might feel more motivated to get out and about after work now that it is still daylight at 5.00pm!!

OK, still need to check on some things before I hit the shower so I hope that EVERYONE that pops in has a wonderful day!!!! I might pop back in tonight to say goodnight to you as well!!! (after I have my sleep!) cya. xo

Daily Ooo's Wednesday September 16

Ok, I officially have lost my brain, has anyone seen it? I think I got this email once... that said if you drink enough coffee to get to the bottom of the pot you can find a lot of brains. Or maybe it was a rainbow and gold? Kidneys in a bathtub?

Long and exhausting day yesterday. The worst of it was getting my new retainers. My teeth shifted again so much since I got my braces off 2 weeks ago, that they are now made wrong. Something about springs and wrong directions. At any rate, they hurt like h@#% and I have to go back in a week to get everything re-checked and evaluated. I might need a another set made if these don't work.
Needless to say, my entire face and head are killing me and I am sooooo done with it.

Then I went shopping for Caitlyn- after many hours and many stores I found a couple of pairs of shoes and two pairs of jeans. One pair of shoes has to go back- too small. The jeans are for her b-day, so fingers crossed they will fit. Man, it was *so* much easier when I picked the clothes out myself and she just wore them.

When we finally got a break for lunch, Gary calls me. The school nurse called him to say that the herbal supplement he takes for his irritability and distraction/lack of focus is not allowed in school. I read all of the paper work on the med. policy and is says that Rx and OTC meds can be kept at the nurses office with parent and dr permission. I had everything all filled out, sent it in with Scott, who got blasted for having this in school. The nurse (from what i am getting from Gary) said that herbal supp's are not part of the med. policy so there is no way he can have them at school. I get what she is saying, policy is policy, but is sucks. Its like I could get the dr to prescribe Xanax and that would be acceptable, but an herbal supp of Valerian Root and Lemon Balm is not OK.
Now I have to go pick up the herbs b/c he is not allowed to carry them home *eye roll*

Today I am off an running again- food shopping (ugh) and have to pick up the stuff I need for Caitlyn's birthday "weekend."
9 kids on Saturday for a Movie Party and 17 people on Sunday for a family brunch. her official b-day is Monday. I am going to be *toast.*:)

After food shopping, I have to call the school to see if it is possible for Scott to listen to music while he is doign seat work. He does that at home w/ HW and it does seem to help him w/ concentrating better. Scott is saying that if he has a drs note, he'll be allowed to do this. I personally can't see the school agreeing, unless it is just for in support class. (He is assigned a period with a support teacher to help him w/ HW, test prep etc.)

Then I am off to my Endo for a bone scan. Not a biggie, except that it is an hour away, so there goes the rest of my day, pretty much.

Signing off.... getting more coffee to get my tired sorry and saggy butt moving:)

Be back in a few....

Yay coffee. Scott is in the kitchen really exhausted too. I hate being so tired all of the time.

Lori-- Oh I feel your pain!!!!! Were you ever able to find the filters? We also use instant as well as brewed so it is nice to have that as a back up. I would be in full fledged panic mode w/o coffee. (Have I ever mentioned how much I love coffee??)

Linda W- You go!!!! How awesome for all of that decluttering. And my fingers are crossed for Traci- I hope that the apt works out!!

Clara- Good for you on walking!! I used to work out on my treadmill before my shower when Gary was still working, but now I'd wake him up. And I am usually to tired and rushed. But I do like walking back and forth from the bus stop.
Oh wow, so sorry that someone took stuff from your car. I have had that happen too and it just sucks that people can do that.

Sally- I admire you so much for your dedication to your kids- I love it! Have fun with your busy week!!
(OK this is the second time I mis-typed a word as "bust." Is someone trying to tell me something? LOL)

Hi Kat!!!! Hope things calm down for you too.

Clara- thank goodness for your insurance co! Glad they didn't give you a hard time. lalalalalala! is one of my favorite sayings-- it is very mature, IMHO. LOL Love the idea of a Growth Spurt Alarm! I used to get spoiled by my BFF who would give me her DD's hand me downs. Now that i don't get them (all GAP/Old Navy/Mudd) I really miss them!!

Andrea- that is such great news to get to talk to YMG!! Next time you talk to him, tell him that your O-Fam loves him too :)
But I am gonna have to yell at you-- you really need to get to a dr *now* an get that ulcer taken care of before it gets worse. If you get really sick, then who is strong for your girls??? ( I totally know where you are coming from, and I don't usually take my own advice, but I know how important it is ...)

Clara!! OMG!! That is too funny? I would love to have seen their WTF? look on their faces!!!

Hope that everyone's days are filled with peace and love! *insert 70's psychedelic cartoon images* LOL

xoxoxoxo

Good morning ladies! I didn't even make it to the Daily O's yesterday. But I did read them this morning.

Clara---hope that your head feels better today? Did you get up and walk? I need to take that advice.

Sally---hope you have a good time at your last Stampin workshop. And I sure wish that I lived closer...I'd come over to the Coffee House at the church Friday night and just be blessed!

Lori, I sure hope you have coffee filters to start today! I'd be awful without my coffee.

Andrea, if you have a history of a bleeding ulcer...especially so recently...why don't you just make a doctor's appointment and get it checked out. (Said in my most motherly voice.) You don't want all of your O-friends worrying about you right?

Ok, just got through the posts for today. Ona, sounds like the hair appointment was a lot of fun...especially the digiscrapping.

Chris, I'm sure sorry about Scott's time with school. And it sounds like your weekend is going to be crazy. You need to grab a little break before that starts!

Now, off to get a shower, coffee and kids up and ready! Have a great day all!

Okay....I am running in quickly...

First...Clara....that story about the breat pump cracked me up!!!!!!!!! You sound just like me....I always picture things in head...what I am thinking things may be like!! LOL!!!

Ona....Yay for hairdressers!!! I usually feel a little "lighter" too when I leave!! LOL!!! and if you are paying...yeah I am there!! WOOT!!! But in all honesty....once I got there...I may never get any work done....I would be too excited to just meet you and want to hang out with you!!!

Chris....Man that stinks about Scott and the herbs!! It's not a situation that I had ever come across, but it seems to me if the DR writes a script for it, it should not be a problem!!!! Seems all responsibility falls back to DR at that point. Bummer about the retainer too..we went through the exact same thing with Traci and her braces....she developed chronic TMJ from the braces, had to get them off early and had to wait a while for the retainer...by then her teeth had shifted A LOT...her teeth are pretty straight, but not what they should be...sounds like a fun weekend for Cait's b-day...YAY!!

Hi LindaS!!!! and yes...more organizing today!!! I hope you have a great day at work today!!!

Well..more organizing for me today...but a break...going to lunch with DD and Cameran and Savannah....Cameran is out early today....and she needs to run in a couple of places really quick...so I will stay in the car with the kids....

I met my other baby that I am going to start keeping yesterday....He is 5 weeks now...he is a chunky monkey!!! So cute!!! But I think Mom and Dad hold him all the time...he didn't like to be put down!! Well....he will learn....Nana... will sing and talk to him...and love him but not hold him all day!!

WEll...ladies I hope you all have a great day!! (((HUGS)))

Hi everybody-
It is POURING outside. ARGH. I'm wondering how to get Atha to school without everybody-AND the danged blue paper spiders- soaked. We park about 100 yards away from the backdoor where we drop the kids off for afternoon preschool, and there is not much of an overhang. I can just see all of the parents and kids complete with little brothers and sisters in their HUGE strollers (why are strollers so BIG now? It's like they are all SUV strollers!) trying to crowd into the little 5'x5' awning. Plus, I just went through the closets yesterday and discovered that the girls' raincoats are waaaay too small. I was going to go get them some new ones soon. Of course I didn't yet. Oh well. We'll figure it out, I s'pose!

Re:ulcer. Y'all are right. Also, y'all are so SWEET. Except that this morning I feel much better, even after my coffee. I think my meds are doing their job. I SWEAR that if it gets bad again, like with my back hurting which was what happend last year right before the upchucking blood part (SORRY gross I know) I will go. Well, I'll call before it gets that bad. Also I already decided to get in touch with my district pastor at church and see about some counseling. The thing is I don't FEEL depressed, or even that stressed out. That's the weird part. I just stuff it all so far down, I guess, that it blows out my stomach. Grrr.
Anyway, enough of that!! I need some SCRAP therapy!

Chris- GRRR! About the herbs. That is frustrating. So they will not let anybody take ANY herbs at school? How stupid. That's just a hole in their policy, and it's frustrating that they can't be flexible with it. Obviously, medicine STARTED with herbs, and it makes no sense that nice, pure herbs can't be taken but artificial syntesized forms of them can. Well, good luck with that!!! Is there a tea he could drink at lunch? Like put it in his thermos?

Ona- how much fun about your hairdresser! I remember when I just started out and was using Scrapbook max- there was so much I did NOT understand. It's good they have you to "help." Hee hee! I can't wait to get my hair cut. My makeover is a week from today! Yikes!

LindaW- A 5 wk old chunky monkey, I bet he's sooo cute! At 5 weeks I can see why Mom and Dad always hold him. It's almost easier not to put them down at that point. Plus- you just wanna HUG them all the time! But they are so lucky to have somebody like you to take care of him, and break him of little habits early before they get tough to break.

Okay, I'm going to go see about those rain coats. Maybe we have some larger coats I forgot about??? Here's hoping.

hi girls!! yup, i got my coffee. I am gonna brew another pot right now. For some reason I am extra tired today. Maybe I got all off kilter missing my morning cup yesterday.

I wanted to stop in for personals last night but Mr Potts jumped on and then got all dont steal the computer on me so I left it alone.

I am making a quick stop by right now cause i have to start lunch for the kiddos coming home.

Lets see if I can squeeze some personals in!

I got PB&Js and yogurt for the kiddos and Pita Sandwiches for Mr Potts and I ready.

Clara I am surprised at how well u are handling the theft. That walk must be magical. I hope u got it all worked out and sly move leaving the doors open. ;)

Gosh Chris you are so busy. I hope all the appointments and current issues run smoothly and help u feel a bit better. And it must stink dealing with the school how terrible they are giving u drama with the meds.

I would love to homeschool my kids but we are not in that position yet. I got so sad a few days ago when i picked up the boys and they had a Stranger Danger Drill.
Made my 4 year olds crouch next to their locker for a little while. Broke my heart cause i know they are preparing them in prek for future dangers. Wish they didnt even have to go.

Oh, yes Ona ur haiurdressing appt does sound fun. u should link us up to ur friend gallery so we can love on her.

LindaW: U go girl. keep on organizing and how funny about the baby. I am sure u will do his mama a favor getting him use to not being held. I know I have mentioned b4 but babies get me all sentimental I keeping thinking I want one then my current crew acts crazy and i get a head check.

Glad u are feeling better Andrea!! I hope it stays that way! Strollers are big. I saw a stroller walking moms club at the mall yesterday and I told Mr Potts I cant join look at my 10 dollar stroller.:p my kids are too big for a new one and molly rides just fine in our cheap one.

So, it's been ages since I've stopped in! Work has been crazy busy!! But I got some much needed MEMEME time in Chicago with my Mr. Gorgeous. My wonderful parents hung out with Christian while we were gone.

Hope you are all well!

Hi Linda W, Linda S, Lori, Chris, Andrea, and Ona!

Gooooooooooooood Morning!!!

I hope everybody is having a great day. I did my walk again today. It was very weird this morning because I didn't hear my alarm go off so Derek woke me up. I didn't hit snooze and got up just fine. One of the parts about getting up early to go for a walk is I get all my morning kisses from Addie and Derek. I hate not seeing Derek before he goes to work. The walk has been awesome. It is so nice being out when the air is so crispy still. we'll see what happens when the rain starts to come. I'm glad I went to the Eddie Bauer outlet last year and got myself a good raincoat. I am determined to get healthy. I have the cruise in February and I'd like to get some pics of myself, ya know?? I talked to a friend of mine yesterday and she asked me to guess what she did last Sunday. She completed a 5K run. She is definately overweight but she has gotten off her butt and started running. She said she has changed none of her eating habits but has lost 12 pounds. how cool is that? She used the "Couch to 5K" program. I have the podcasts downloaded and I think I am going to start it in about 2 weeks. It seems like all of my family is trying to get healthy. My parents have started working out. My sis just won the "Biggest Loser" challenge at her work. My mom has some really bad back problems but really wants to go zip lining when we stop in Cozumel. Right now she would probably be flat on her back for the rest of the trip but she really wants to go.

Any of you who are not going to Cozumel but want to plan a vacation should really really consider coming on the cruise. I am so excited for it. I think we have 164 days left. That better be enough time for me to look better than I do now. I have to do something. I keep talking about it but I am tired of feeling like a slug. Blah!! I'm on a mission. And I am loving (granted it has only been 2 days) this walking thing. Wish me luck for sticking with it.

Mary Ellen!!!

I was just thinking about you...well, you know that. I sent you a PM. But besides that I was wondering how you were. I hope everything is great and it sounds like you had a great trip. I am so glad you stopped by. Don't be a stranger anymore!!

Ona - I am kinda jealous that you get to start your day so much earlier than ours. Our day is slipping away lately. I'm glad you enjoyed your time at the hairdresser. I don't usually have the best time there because they never do what I want. Although this last time I went was awesome. They cut off a ton of my hair and I love it still. That is fun that they are getting into digi. Like Lori said send a link our way to send her some love.

Chris - What?? that is insane about the herbal stuff. A prescription is a prescription. That tea idea is a good one, if it would work. I'm guessing he has to take it several times a day? That is so lame. there has to be a way around that, especially with a prescription. Who are they to contradict a doctor?? That stinks about your teeth. I hope they go where they are supposed to go quickly. I hate that they can't get you in some type of retainer the day you get your braces off. I only had to wait a couple of days back when and still it hurt. I hope everything goes smoothly with Caitlyn's birthday. Tell her happy birthday from all of us.

LindaS - Too bad we aren't in the same time zone or I would call you and make you get up with me and walk even if we weren't in the same place. Too bad. My head is a little better. Still need more water though.

Andrea - Oh no about the raincoats. I hope you can get them some soon so that you don't all get wet and pruny. So, let me add some nagging about the doctor...okay, make an appointment now to keep an eye on it. Also, if finding a chaplain or pastor doesn't work...Tricare covers counseling and you could find a Christian counselor that accepts it. It is covered at 100% without a co-pay or anything. Check into it. Whether you feel stressed or depressed you have a lot of your plate between the deployments, the issues with your daughter and just being a mom. So you basically just regularly sit at a high level of stress you are just used to it so it doesn't seem any different than any other day. So, get on it lady and get yourself 100% health inside and out. hugs!!

Lori - that is cool that you want to homeschool your kids. I have never had any desire to do anything of the sort. My kids would end up stupic and I would end up sitting on the couch all day eating bonbons. Zero discipline and far too many distractions for me. I know what you mean though about seeing your kids at school and the things they have to do.

Well, I'd better go. I have to see if the docs are done and then call my insurance company to see what else they need to know so that they can get the claim processed. Ciao.

Hey all :)

A crappy couple of days for me since I'm all by myself at work at the moment (the rest of my team is on holiday) and I am being swamped by people who have zero understanding that one person can only do so much, so fast. However, it's just work, right?

My family are all getting healthy too Clara! My FILs heart bypass operation kinda got everyone thinking about their bodies I think.

I've gone 3 days now with eating healthily, and getting some work + scrapping + photography business + cleaning + relaxing done each day. Now I just need to sleep better and I'll be onto something :)

sleep? What is this sleep you speak of?? LOL!! I have a hard time with that sleep thing too. You sure do have a lot to get done every day. No wonder sleep gets pushed by the wayside.

Clara, I really do wish that we were in the same timezone so that you could call me! Kathryn, I'm so glad that you dropped in today! It's always so much fun to get to know people better.

Linda W, you are sure going to be busy when you get both of those babies! How lucky they are to have you watching them.

HellooOO everyone! DD and I made it home late last night. Went straight to bed and with the exception of a few minutes this morning slept until 2:30 today LOL.

I will do personals tomorrow...still worn out and sooo sore!
I had a scary moment this afternoon when I went to u/l my photos, I couldn't find them! That's what I get for doing something like that half asleep haha. They are now safe and sound.
I missed you all! xoxoxoxo

sleep? What is this sleep you speak of?? LOL!! I have a hard time with that sleep thing too. You sure do have a lot to get done every day. No wonder sleep gets pushed by the wayside.

True Clara. No wonder time flies with 8 hours work and 8 hours sleep we are left with 8 hours to be with ours fams, eat, shower, relax, exercise and have a hobby. no wonder people dont rest. Life is truly short.

Dawn: Glad u are safe and home. And I am so glad about ur pics.
