Angry, sad and happy

Today, our burglar alarm went off and the security people called me at work. There was a whole in a glass door, and several motion detectors were triggered. I went home, to meet the security guy and wait for the police outside. Tried to check through the windows to see what was missing, and saw the neck strap from the camera where it should be. Phew. And saw the iMac where it should be. Phew again. When I finally could go inside, I saw that they had taken jewellery. My box with my favourite stuff was turned over and a few scattered pieces had fallen on to the bed and not in the burglars bag.

:mad2: Angry that they broke into our house and took my things.

 Sad that they took things that cannot be replaced.

 Happy that they didn't take my camera, my Mac and that I was wearing the rings and things that I was today.

Sorry to hear this! Being burgled is a real violation of our sacred safe place - our home. I do admit, it would be my iMac that would bother me the most if it were gone. The ehds too!

I recall some years ago learning that cds were worth $5 each in the 'crack' market. I don't suppose that's true anymore but I often wonder.

Oh boy - am I happy that noone was at home!!

Thanks for support.

Right now, I'm trying to recall what was in that box.
Tip of the day: Take your camera, open your box, and take a snapshot! I've been thinking that I should document it all for ages, but I have never - and guess why? Ambitions too high, one pic of each peace and a little story attached to them all. Never happened. Oh, I wish I had just poured it all on the kitchen table and snapped!

So sorry to hear that. That is a fabulous idea to take a snapshot. We need to do that in this area because there is always a threat of fires where we could lose everything. The photo does two things - it allow you to keep that item in your heart by seeing it in a photograph, and it help insurance wise.

Oh Iken! I'm so sorry this happened to you! I'm glad they left your electronic goodies & glad you can see the positive in that. I hope you remember what is lost, but don't let it eat away at you too much.

Hoping they get caught!

always chatty at the O!!
Oh man!! That really sucks. The whole violation of it is just so hurtful. I'm glad the camera and imac were safe. When we were getting ready for a tornado the only things I set in our prep area were my camera and hard drive. I understand...but losing such personal items must sting a bit. Sending hugs!!
