By next year he'll be demanding a bag to go trick-or-treating. I was shocked to learn how soon they figure it out, although this year he wasn't ready. ;)
We took the High Road to Taos and got to Santuario de Chimayo right at sunrise but there was a mountain just to the east and it would be hours before the sun would brighten the church yard. It turned out the church I remembered wasn't this one anyway, so maybe we'll visit Taos next year.
It was cloudy and cold as we climbed above 10,000 ft on the road to Ski Santa Fe and I was glad I had my neck gaitor so handy against the wind. The leaves were long gone off the trees but the view of Santa Fe was beautiful.
Wow it's great and yes it's so so early. I feel like I need to do the thankfulness first to get me ready, but I did just yesterday put Santa into a page I'm working on in the background for "Do You Believe."
After the long drive to Santa Fe, we wanted an easy morning and headed to Anderson Overlook, a half hour from The Lodge. The morning was so hazy we had stowed our cameras when the sun surprised us and popped out. After more than twenty years, this trip brought back a lot of memories.
