With the big cold front arriving there were 40 mps wind gusts. We drove to Deer Ridge Junction with just a few forays into the wind. I often don't zip my parka, so for the first little while I fought the wind trying to take it to Kansas until I took the time to snap the hood snugly.
We knew a major cold front was coming on Monday. But on Sunday it was warm enough for just sweaters by mid-day, and there was a long line of cars waiting to get into the park as we were leaving. At 9 am, we enjoyed watching the herd of elk below us from a Sheep Lakes overlook.
Wow! I love this. So cool to get the shot, and I don't expect super clear shots in the dark anyway. I love the dark forest green with white text, and the acorns (we don't have them and I think they're so artsy.)
This is gorgeous. The bright spots of lights and flowers are so beautifully balanced with soothing greens and neutrals and there's so much to delight the eye.
Saying how you feel is key to being creative, so I'm fine that you maybe mostly hate snow. I can like snow but I have to sit inside by the fire to stare at it all day. I like the hat, because I don't have one of those and it looks like fun and maybe you need it when it's sunny.
I love to make up my own stories about these places. In a way what has vanished makes it like a blank book you're welcome to fill any way you wish. That brick chimney is gorgeous and I love the painted wooden board background.
