Journaling reads:
Feb 2022: My current ‘love’ is creating pages in my art journal in
a variety of styles. This double page is a collage consisting of
magazine cutouts, gesso, acrylic paints, distressed inks, alcohol inks,
gel pens and no doubt some other things that I have forgotten to
mention here. I have really been enjoying my hands-on experience
with creating art using a mixture of products and getting my
hands dirty has been so much fun! Of course I will never give up
doing digital art and combining them together, as I have done here
is super fun as well. I think I have the best of two worlds!!
Oh Ona...this is remarkable! I mean really and truly remarkable! The dark background with the candles and the fairy lights...the bright pink colors popping off the page. Seriously stunning art my friend!

I agree! This is just beautiful! And I'm so impressed with people who can art journal, too! I've tried, but I just don't get it, LOL! But I'm still trying to figure out if you are telling us this is all digital or is it a photo of something you did with digital additions? Curious minds need to know! ;) Whatever it is, it is beautiful!

So fun that you are doing Art Journaling also, it is so very rewarding! There is something so rewarding about the texture and feeling of all that gesso and paint etc. Love your page about your new adventure!

Thanks for your sweet words! xxx Vicky the top half of the layout is a photo taken of my art journal, which is a collage using magazine cut outs (mainly from my old garden magazines :)). You use matte medium gel (sort of like Modpodge) under the pics to 'glue' them down and then over the top of them to seal them. After that you can use paints, gesso, inks etc etc without damaging the pictures. It's all about layers and layers of different mediums, very similar to how you would create a digital layout, only problem is that you can't 'undo' a mistake, but I am learning how to fix that by painting over that spot or applying more gesso! LOL! :) Google collage and you will find hundreds of videos on Youtube, once you start it becomes addictive! LOL!!! There are more pics on my FB page if you want to take a closer look of it. :)

Thanks so much Linda, I had a lot of fun creating it and just love looking through magazines and cutting out the images and then sticking it all together! :)

Thanks Trudy, and yes, the texture of the mediums are really what I love most, so tactile!! :)

I don't even know what to say. It is so striking, so interesting, there is so much to see, I just want to keep staring at it.

This is gorgeous. The bright spots of lights and flowers are so beautifully balanced with soothing greens and neutrals and there's so much to delight the eye.
