For the December 2025 A Whimsical Adventure Designer Challenge at Oscraps, we were asked to follow a "recipe" to create our seasonally-themed layout. We were asked to use: 2 papers, 1 overlay, 1 image, 2 splatters, 2 scatters, 1 word art, and up to 6 other elements.

I've never done a recipe challenge before, so I wanted to play and give it a try. We were given a lot of latitude about making our layouts "seasonal," so I decided that I would do a layout of a beautiful lady, all dressed up, on her way to see The Nutcracker Ballet being performed, during the holiday season from Thanksgiving until the New Year.

I started with one of the gorgeous images of Hera available in Mythical Characters No. 2 by A Whimsical Adventure and paired it with her Cabinet of Dreams Complete Collection. Here's how I followed the recipe:

2 papers - the mixed media green one and the speckled cream one below it.
1 overlay - the cloud with stars above the frame
1 image - the image of Hera within the frame
2 splatters - 2 multi-colored paint splatters in the lower green area - you can mainly see the splatters of gold on the left and the right
2 scatters - the silver glitter birds at the top and the star scatter at the bottom
1 word art - the "Written in the Stars" title
up to 6 other elements:
1-frame
2-ballerina
3-white flower
4-glow behind the ballerina
5 - gem to pop over frame for Hera's necklace
