I made this one for the Oscraps 2016 Advent Event day 24 It's supposed to be about your happiest moment of the year using newspaper story templates. I went a little altered art with my newspaper, but I think it still fits. Apart from the day they told me I was now cancer free, this AH-HA moment was pretty close....

Journaling reads:

At the beginning of 2016, I decided it was my year to Get Healthy. I started working out with a trainer and eating right. I was ACTUALLY DOING IT! For the first time in like, ever. And, it was awesome. I felt strong, had tons of energy and felt great. I was even beginning to feel sexy for the first time in years.

Then, I went to my yearly mammogram and everything changed. Congratulations. Youve got BREAST CANCER.
I thought, what the hell? Im finally getting healthy and I get breast cancer?!?!?! Wheres the fairness in that.

Well, I was lamenting this fact much later in the year, you know, three surgeries and much emotional roller coastering later when my hubby hits me with a humdinger. He tells me I didnt get cancer because I was getting healthy. I actually got healthy BECAUSE I had breast cancer. Whaaaaaat?!?!?!

Well... I had cancer the whole time I was working out and eating right. I already had it! But the working out and eating right had made me stronger than Id ever been before. So, my recovery from very major surgery was so much easier than it would have been otherwise.

And, even bigger... I quit smoking. After smoking my entire adult life - over 30 years - I quit totally and completely. According to just about everyone - quitting smoking is THE HEALTHIEST THING you can do for yourself.
Yes, I did indeed get healthy in 2016.

So, be careful what you wish you for...
you might just get it.....
